Kyle (saabkyle04) had one of the first week-long tests of the 2019 Ram! If you don't know who he is, you've probably come across his videos dozens of times. He has the most expansive collection of in-depth automotive videos on UA-cam. Go check out his channel (link in the description) and tell him Truck Central sent you!
Truck Central Thanks very much! ! My lease on my 2015 Silverado 5.3liter 4×4 1500 LT Z71, 6 1/2 foot box double cab, trailering package is up soon and I'm considering trying the similar in a Dodge. If I stick with Chevy I'm going with a 6.2 liter crew cab, rear window, sun roof, full power bench seats both for passenger and driver. Any suggestions? Maybe I should check out the Rebel? Does the Rebel come in a 6 1/2 foot bed with air lift suspension option and full crew cab? It's also very strange the 1500s don't seem to come with the big extendable trailer mirrors as at least an option. This truck is fully capable of towing and big extendable towing mirrors are awesome helpful. I also hope every single button as well as the key start are well lighted for easy location in night. What's the rear axle recommended ? My 2015 Silverado is available in 3 different. 3.1 or 3.43 or 3.7. They tell me 3.43 is good for all occasions and that's what I got. I do like the step on each end of the Chevy bumper and I'm not getting a vehicle for the cool sound it makes or the fancy dual exhaust pipes.
I spent a lot of time looking at Rams. I finally ordered a 2019 Big Horn because I couldn't find the combination of items that I wanted. And I live in a pretty large metro area with 4 dealers within 30 mins. I found that I was being forced into item$ that I didn't want and wasn't getting the ones I wanted with the trucks available locally. And Dodge doesn't want you buying from another area. They won't tell you where the truck you want is located if it's more than 125 miles from your house. So I threw in the towel and ordered one from scratch. For what it's worth, I saved about 8 grand buying a Big Horn over a Laramie with essentially the same options. I added Pano Sunroof, Alpine stereo, 20-inch wheels, Level 2 equip group, floor mats, etc. You can't go exactly apples to apples, but very close. So, for about 7-8 grand more, I would have gotten nicer trim and a few geegaws, but essentially the same truck. I'm very happy with my order and eagerly await delivery. Former Ford and Chevy guy. Five in total over the last 30 years. For those of you looking at these videos and thinking about making the move, I highly encourage you to look closely at the packages and options. GET the BOOK at the dealer and scrutinize the last several pages small print. ***MOST of the videos I have seen contain numerous errors regarding which package comes with what, what are the specific options versus standard equipment, etc, etc. A lot of the guys are giving out inaccurate formation. I even had salesmen giving me bogus info. Not out of malice, out of ignorance. Do your homework, get the book. Good luck.
E46ZHP ram has the best interior by far ... I got the new rebel and everyone has something to say.. it’s just to nice of a truck ... also the way way it rides is amazing..
Great review and comments! I Have had my Ram1500 Limited 4x4 w Air Suspension, skid plates, lockers, etc and E Torque w V-8. Love the E Torque and Start/Stop Technology and 12'' screen with a great interior. The interior blows away the competition and is in a class by itself. Well done RAM and FCA. E Torque may not mean much to this reviewer, but in terms of towing it makes a huge difference!! I have had both the V-8 HEMI 2019 w/o E-Torque and my current one with E Torque. If you tow, this is a must have along with the 4 Corner Air Suspension! This thing is FAST for a truck, and is a Great truck! The haters will continue to hate while Ram takes away market share from the others....
34k for a bighorn lonestar crew cab 4x4 is hard to beat, looking at ford and the next comparable price wise is the stx which doesnt have a sliding rear windo, power seats or heated seats and forget the heated wheel, no remote start or rambox, no trailer brake, park sensors
All these new features essentially makes the new trucks even more disposable due to high repair costs when they are out of warrantee. The simpler, the better!
We bought a 2019 laramie and i guess they stopped putting in the recliner seats in the rear seats. It’s now available on the limited but now the Laramie.
Ra Ga Agree 110%, this front end looks way less “masculine” than the outgoing one...I’m still not sold on it yet just based on this. Interior is a definite winner.
These new Rams will take you to a wedding in style and haul Jay the next day. Then throw a deer in the back in the fall. It will do it all and when you want classy, you've got that to! Rides like a Cadillac, and with the Hemi and 3:92s accelerates like a race car.
Is any one having issues with 2019 Hemi gas filler tube,it takes me forever to fill up it keeps cutting off, when it's not full, they have replaced the filler tube, but it did not fix it,anyone having some issues.???????
I haven't had any issues with mine at all. In 6 months of time, I've only put 1600 miles on the truck. Only filling it up about one time a month or so, so maybe I'm not running it enough to have issues like others. Did you get it straightened out or still having issues?
Yeah but on Tesla everything is seen on that single screen, which is off to the right in the center of the car. We still like the important gauges placed right in front of the steering wheel. We also wonder if a bench seat with flip up console like on the Chevy Silverado is available? ? We do like the optional air lift suspension. How come my Ram Laramie only has 4 height adjustments?
It’s very nice and has a lot of features and tech but all the trims are pricey and it just seems to be missing something. I was raised on Dodge trucks (yes Dodge, not Ram) since my grandpa’s old d150 with the 318. Ram lacks that American truck feel you used to have with Dodge. Yeah you paid on fuel, and handling was vague and comforts were basic, braking took awhile, and turning was something to be desired, but it was cheap and easy to maintain, had enough power and it wouldn’t let you down. I’ll stick to my 06 Dodge Dakota with its old 4.7 magnum, 3.55 gearing, tow package, column shifter, leaf springs, and class IV hitch. She isn’t fancy but as my grandpa would say, “It’s a truck, what else you want it to do, wipe your ass?” Haha
Don't get that shitty air suspension if you live in cold places. It will fail, mine did just after warranty, cost 4000 to fix and almost killed us on the highway as when it fails, you have no suspension at all.
1 thing to know,,, they don't back their warranty . check engine and traction off light at 34k. They never fixed a recurring dangerous defect that would put my truck 2017 Ram 1500 pentastar ,,in limp mode and had to get off highway multiple times. I had to turn in the leased truck that I was supposed buy at end of lease and pay over mileage. They are a rip off company, ,claimed changed cam phasers when engine looked dusty and untouched when they were supposed to do warranty work and it would happen again and again even though I limped it in to the dealer when it happened close to the dealer. Dishonest company and junk trucks . beware the head issues on these trucks >>>> stay far away.....
Dodge's interior has came a LONG ways, but the rest hasnt changed as much as they claim. And the oversize badging needs to go. And Ram isnt a brand its a model. You arent fooling anyone Dodge.
Truck Central yeah. To the outside observer, at least this outside observer, it looks like a weak attempt at "glorifying" the Ram name. Just my 2cents as a guy who works at a Ford shop but has never had anything "against" Dodge. Helped my brother build a Cummins once. Anyways, myself and the other Ford techs are genuinely impressed how much the interiors have improved in all the Chrysler stuff since the Fiat acquisition. And previously i would have put them as worst in class in that dept. So props to the Italians for that haha.
Matt Johnson Ya know every truck can be/is used for work. If you want a truck for work but want luxuries get something like a Ford F-150 Platinum, RAM 1500 Limited, or Chevy Silverado 1500 High Country/GMC Sierra 1500 Denali. Then there are the more "simple" trucks like the Ford F-150 XLT, RAM 1500 Tradesman, or Chevrolet Silverado W/T
I don't trust the quality of the Dodge/Fiat either company has great reliability review do I wouldn't wast my money on those products that's not a ram from old that's a Fiat junk
He forgot to tell you that it has the weakest frame of all big size trucks. Both Ford and GM are rated with more pulling capacity. He also didn't tell you this is nothing but a over rated FIAT with a bunch of cheap gadgets on it. Put FIAT on the side of it and no one would but it.

RAM sure does have a nice interior.
truckguyjoe I agree
Warms my heart to see Kyle's smiling mug on this channel
Just bought a 2019, thanks for the review. I searched long and hard to find one with NO eTorque!! I think that's a total gimmick.
Nice review Kyle 😎👍 Nice Ram too 😏
Extremely nice, but it's no Power Wagon
So impressed with your improved presentation skills and narrative

Big horn still nice? No issues?
Just bought a 2019 Laramie too!! They sure beat gm and Ford. Was waiting on the new Sierra 1500 but ram beats it. Way better interior!!!
E46ZHP ram has the best interior by far ... I got the new rebel and everyone has something to say.. it’s just to nice of a truck ... also the way way it rides is amazing..

mark vikse that sound like a 70k truck lucky you
Saabkyle is the best for vehicle reviews. Based many purchases on his reviews
Yeah! Bring it on!
Just bought mine
Love it
There is rear-curtain shield airbags at the rear seats above them in the interior.
Your reviews are simply the best
great review, very informative, thanks
Great video!
New Ram is bad ass !!
34k for a bighorn lonestar crew cab 4x4 is hard to beat, looking at ford and the next comparable price wise is the stx which doesnt have a sliding rear windo, power seats or heated seats and forget the heated wheel, no remote start or rambox, no trailer brake, park sensors
U should do a video on where the 19 speakers are
All these new features essentially makes the new trucks even more disposable due to high repair costs when they are out of warrantee. The simpler, the better!
Tundra all the way?
New ram is huge lol it's hard to say.
2019 ram is all new just lease it....1100 lol month
Great video !!!! The best
Just bought a new RAM 2020 Hemi/Limited 2 weeks ago 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is a fab video, thanks for sharing!
Great easy to understand and clear. Thanks!
They have the benchmark interior and ride comfort. That's about it as far as benchmark goes.
Best interior . Best looking. Now air ride . a no brainer if you are buying new this year .
New followers so sorry for kinda late comment but would love to see a review and maybe some offroading in the new rebel! Great video
We will be getting a new Rebel soon.... stay tuned!
Truck Central. No 5 b
We bought a 2019 laramie and i guess they stopped putting in the recliner seats in the rear seats. It’s now available on the limited but now the Laramie.
It comes with the lvl1 equipment group
Great video!!! Great truck!!!Does it use 87 or 89 octane fuel?
They recommend 89 but 87 is acceptable. That’s according to my 2019 Laramie owners manual.
89 is recommended for the hemi
Nice truck. I like the face of old one better. Interior is better on new one.
A lot of people are going to miss the big rig styling of the 4th gen.
Ra Ga Agree 110%, this front end looks way less “masculine” than the outgoing one...I’m still not sold on it yet just based on this. Interior is a definite winner.
Luxe11 that’s why I got the rebel .. love the way it looks
Nice truck. Later this year full reports will be released.
What until warranty runs out,, you will love it👺
How do they do the 1" lift?
Pretty boy truck! Very nice
Is the ecodiesel going to be offered? He said only 2 engine options
Not 'til 2020...
yes. in the summer
well they begin production in the summer to be released on 2019

Is there a diesel in the works?
yes, there is an option for a 3.0ltr V6 Eco Diesel at 420 ft lbs of torque and 240 Hp.
Ooooooooooooooh that's an awesome truck Kyle! But it's not the year 2019 yet.
What's your point?
+jet052673 Cause it's the year 2018
But this is a 2019 RAM. New models always come out before the beginning of the model year.
+jet052673 Oh
There will be 2020 models of several vehicles on the road before the end of 2018.
Looking good.
Ram needs to put the new Direct injection engine in this truck. I wanna get one just to say i have a truck that doesn't have a starter
Thanks.

I like the interior design. The best interior in its class but It's a Chrysler Fiat.
first truck with no leaked pics

Gotta move the camera more

You're right. People will always call this a Dodge Ram... branding nightmare.

It looks like a silverado
Jack Gallagher
no
Jack Gallagher Silverado drives terrible compared to the Ram
Jack Gallagher
Thankfully, it doesn’t drive or feel like one.
that wheel well aint no chevy
How are you supposed to use a truck like this for work
Matt Johnson If you can't figure that out, you probably shouldn't be driving...
Matt Johnson aha so you’re the dumber guy from dumb and dumber
Teddy Mopar
I think he means its too pretty 💅🏿 to eff up with work. He probably doesn‘t know about the other trims? Je ne se pas.
You do realize you can buy a lower Trim level right? You can get a “work truck” from any line of trucks.
Matt Johnson Ya know every truck can be/is used for work. If you want a truck for work but want luxuries get something like a Ford F-150 Platinum, RAM 1500 Limited, or Chevy Silverado 1500 High Country/GMC Sierra 1500 Denali. ray powers shut up
You must watch CNN.
Dont buy this truck is shit the coil springs s quash when iam haul my trailer this is for pretty boys not work truck

Rams are the worst trucks. Period.
