As much as I love my 2020 RAM 1500, I am not loving the backup lights. If I didn’t have my camera, it would be quite difficult to see out the back. Other than that, FCA nailed it with this truck!
Performance enthusiasts of the Ram 1500 brand do not care for e torque and should have the option to shut of the cylinder deactivation feature. The Ram 1500 should also be equipped with 4 or 5 pre wired auxiliary switches from the factory for light bars and winch
Wonderful job !!! for the new Ram 1500 i live in Canada and just a few weeks ago I ordered one for the very first time the all new sport edition crystal black purl in color.... I built it myself dealership and I ofcourse it takes about 6/8 weeks to arrive when it does tell you all about thx.
Thanks! This was my first media trip and I took many notes. I also had dinner with the chief engineer. He is a cool guy and we had a great conversation. A little fun fact is that he used to work on the LX platform (Charger and 300) all the way back to the Daimler days. He went into detail on the etorque engine and the air suspension. It was mind blowing.
Beautiful Truck the only thing that I don’t like is that stove top knob as the gear shifter takes away the feel of having a center shifter like a sports car.
How come they don’t mention how if your filling your tires with air when you get to the correct PSI your truck will turn the flashers on and honk the horn to let you know ?
Do you know the date of the Eco Diesel version? I have a 2015 ED Laramie Longhorn and love it.. But the new one looks even better.. May have to upgrade once the ED version shows up..
New Car Spin hmmm... so maybe it’s a 2020 version? They will need a new transmission in order to keep the title of best mileage in class given the others diesel offerings.
Just bought the 2019 Limited. My biggest complaint is the wind noise from the sunroof. Dealer has adjusted it several times and it didn't fix the issue. Any suggestions
I own a 2016 Sport I can’t understand why they only offer a sport model 2019 only in Canada and why they don’t allow the driver a on off option for cylinder deactivation
STEVE ORTEZ u can deactivate mds. There's a sequence with the buttons on the steering wheel. I saw it on UA-cam. But u have to do it every time u start it up.
Because there will be a separate launch for those models. There will be V6 and V8 etorque engine options, but the truck will launch first with the Hemi V8. Diesel will be available by 2019.
What did u think of the ride with the standard coil spring suspension vs the air? I drove both at dealers and couldn't tell that the air was worth the 1800 upcharge...
The coil spring in the Bighorn made for a compliant ride. I'm used to sports cars and sedans, so I'm very sensitive to the bucking bronco rear end in most suvs and trucks. The Bighorn only had the slightest bucking, and I've always been told by my uncle (he's a professional trucker) that the ride needs to be good both empty and loaded. So when I got into the Longhorn with air suspension, it rode like a Chrysler 300. No bucking from an unloaded rear end. It's very hard to notice if you're used to trucks. But from my perspective, if you daily drive a truck with an empty bed, it's worth it to get the air suspension. I'm not saying that the coil spring sucks. I'm just hugely impressed all around with the Ram and really think something like the Longhorn and Limited will impress everyone. The Bighorn will be a great truck, but I'm coming from a non-truck guy perspective.
New Car Spin great. I appreciate your non truck guy perspective! I have 2 1 ton trucks that ride nice for 1 tons. I am dying for my next truck to be a 1500 so I can have a truck that feels like a car! 1500s have been nice the last 6 years. This 2019 seems to be insanely nice!
The 1500 will be launching with the 5.7 Hemi V8, followed by the e-torque V8, then the e-torque V6. A diesel will be here in 2019. That's information directly from Ram.
I remember back in 1993, BMW put an aluminum V8 in their 5-series (530i and 540i) and 7-series (740i/il) to compete with the Lexus LS400. BMW lined the cylinders with nicasil to add strength. Unfortunately, the sulfur in the US fuel ate through the linings, causing huge block failures. BMW had to repair all of them under warranty. Not pretty. Nowadays, we have ethanol.
I have the 2017 Eco Diesel. It's getting lemoned in favor of the 2019 ETorque. The eco diesel engine died at 8,500 miles. I've heard a lot of similar stories.
I bought my 2015 lml chevy ccsb....i love the new ram, however these interiors are too nice for work trucks, and they are getting nicer...all these features are starting to get gimicky, and tacky...regardless of brand.
There will be a fiture where there are 3 types of yrucks: work trucks, luxury trucks, heavy duty trucks. People will always want what they cannot have.
This 360 L Sirius XM is a pure joke. The CFA 2019 Ram 12" screen is a total waste of money, Almost from day 1, this system has been crashing thousands and thousands of RAM owners Sirius radios. I can see post going back to 2018 with people on Ram forums complaining. In April of 2019, the bug hit me, and my Sirius has been down. With an active lifetime subscription so there is no issue with my subscription. I've played the support game (That's a joke in itself) Nothing. SO this super cool technology that does not work, is not so super cool what so ever. Before you put down $45,000 - $65,000 on a vehicle , you might want to make sure the problem has been corrected. I would not take the word from FCA Dealers, not Sirius, check with RAM owners before you spend. Lot of false hype over a system that is not supported very well, at least by my opinion that has not and will not work. They will not give a time frame for these issue to be correct either.
Best new truck i've seen!
Thanks for watching!
This truck is number one on my shopping list.
Love the black Laramie long horn! That Brown and black interior is amazing!
Yup! It's my favorite too.
It’s 2020 Nov 23rd. Still love this vid. Cheers
I am glad you enjoy it! I had a great time learning all about it.
I bought my 2019 five days ago. I've owned many RAM's and this one is my favorite.
Congrats!
New Car Spin Thank you. Great video
I'm shopping for a new RAM as we speak. Thanks for the reviews
I love my 2109 Ram 1500 Bighorn!
Congrats!
As much as I love my 2020 RAM 1500, I am not loving the backup lights. If I didn’t have my camera, it would be quite difficult to see out the back. Other than that, FCA nailed it with this truck!
Great review, great truck
Got a classic body 2019 bighorn today, nice truck, a step up from my last bighorn.
Congrats!
Great job man! So much cool little-known information here. Thumbs up.
Thanks!
Good job! I think it's time to trade in my 2016 Ram.
Something tells me that's a good idea. I hope Ram makes enough 1500 trucks for the demand. It's going to be huge.
Wow, that's a really cool BARN! PS..bagged one!
Congrats!

They are launching the 1500 with the regular HEMI V8. Etorque is a separate engine that will launch later this year. Good point about aux power.
Cylinder deactivation is easily shut off by either the trailer/haul mode switch on the dash, or using the gear limit switch on the steering wheel.
i am going to be buying one of these trucks this month . is it a big difference with airbags.
I need it in my life
I'm really enjoying your UA-cam. That's cool.
I like it.
Congrats!
There is another Easter Egg in the center console. There is a pop-up divider showing the design history of the various Ram trucks through the years.
Yup!
Move over FoMo. New sheriff in town. Split screen is game changer.
Well done

Grow up.
Well done 👍 ram!!

Could be a late introduction as it's a software feature and maybe still under development at the time?
Do you know the date of the Eco Diesel version? I have a 2015 ED Laramie Longhorn and love it.. But the new one looks even better.. May have to upgrade once the ED version shows up..
I have been told "2019, but no specific timing yet."
New Car Spin hmmm... so maybe it’s a 2020 version? They will need a new transmission in order to keep the title of best mileage in class given the others diesel offerings.
Very informative video. Thank You...,
Very informative video!
yes sir I seen three Laramie in the back today at the place were I got my ram from
It does look nice
Just bought the 2019 Limited. My biggest complaint is the wind noise from the sunroof. Dealer has adjusted it several times and it didn't fix the issue. Any suggestions
Try a different dealer?
I bought the rebel but so far no noise from the panoramic roof... probably you have to go somewhere else
Different dealer.....i ordered my truck without a sunroof for that reason
I own a 2016 Sport I can’t understand why they only offer a sport model 2019 only in Canada and why they don’t allow the driver a on off option for cylinder deactivation
I'd rather have MDS than auto stop/start.
Here's why I believe MDS works better than stop/start ua-cam.com/video/SKF3IjPOSRE/v-deo.html
STEVE ORTEZ u can deactivate mds. There's a sequence with the buttons on the steering wheel. I saw it on UA-cam. But u have to do it every time u start it up.
Am I the only one who thinks it looks like a ridgeline from the back? Looks nice dont get me wrong..
Asking Santa for a Laramie Longhorn for Christmas. Ive been really good I promise!
I got my limited Laramie longhorn and it’s great
we had the twin cites autoshow this week and the ones on the floor had the e-torque systems on them. so why didn't the journalists get to try'm ?????
Because there will be a separate launch for those models. There will be V6 and V8 etorque engine options, but the truck will launch first with the Hemi V8. Diesel will be available by 2019.
Does "The office" have a lock on It like the F-150
The Tradesman trim, I believe, does. But there is a massive Mopar accessories catalog and I'm sure there's a safe available.
What did u think of the ride with the standard coil spring suspension vs the air? I drove both at dealers and couldn't tell that the air was worth the 1800 upcharge...

New Car Spin thanks. That info has been out for months. More interested in how it drives.
New Car Spin any info on mpg of the Etorque ?
Why not save an EXTRA 100 lbs by using an aluminum block.?...Beautiful truck
I remember back in 1993, BMW put an aluminum V8 in their 5-series (530i and 540i) and 7-series (740i/il) to compete with the Lexus LS400. BMW lined the cylinders with nicasil to add strength. New Car Spin tundra uses aluminum block and there engine is bulletproof just sayin. But yes this new ram is very nice
They are aluminum blocks.
Robert Brumley block is cast iron. Cylinder head aluminum
Thanks Mike I own a 2019 Ram with the 5.7L Hemi. I know what it has.
Do all 19 Rams have active aero dams? And if so does it actually move?
Only on models without air suspension. Yes, it moves.
I want an Eco Diesel, but the video is nicely done.
I have the 2017 Eco Diesel. It's getting lemoned in favor of the 2019 ETorque. The eco diesel engine died at 8,500 miles. I've heard a lot of similar stories.
Pay more than $50k for a truck without an 8 foot bed and a Cummings then you're wasting your freaking money.
Ever who decided to not put ventilated seats in the rebel for much as it cost needs to be smashed upside the head.
Just get the Power Wagon!
Ah too bad. I wanted to see what they served for dinner :-)
Lol in the end.. the heart attack is near 😵
The sooner, the better.
I got my already...
I bought my 2015 lml chevy ccsb....i love the new ram, however these interiors are too nice for work trucks, and they are getting nicer...all these features are starting to get gimicky, and tacky...regardless of brand.

Did u just get a new gf?! I started watching for u but stayed watching for her. Lol
She's someone I met at the event. I hope we all get to see more of her, too.
they turned this truck into a ugly truck just like all the rest thanks dodge you saved me a lot of money im kepping my 2013 ram

Interesting....
But.... They are 63K new??! People seriously pay over 900/A month for a basic truck with a touch screen and....what?
ua-cam.com/video/fx5EzeE-1Mc/v-deo.html
I got the new rebel and I just want to drive and drive and drive
Congrats!
