      It seems like at one point you have a glitch and the start stop section of the video loops back. Also one really important thing for me are they going to keep the ram box cargo management system?

      Hoping to hear they have plans to bring the TRX Rebel to production. That would be the best news. New design looks good though, keep up the great work

    • @MidSouthUTV

      No new news about a TRX or the new 3.0L EcoDiesel... The interior is beautiful, RAM has always been great at that, and glad to see the panoramic sunroof. BUT no crossbar grille is a big No-No. I hope they don't do that to the next RAM HD models. The crossbar is RAM, so is the goat logo. When putting "RAM" on the front and back, all I see is "GMC". It's funny, RAM 1500 exterior now looks like GMC Sierra, F-150 looks like RAM trucks, and Silverado looks like Tundra. Musical (Design) Chairs!

      Martin Enders that would be the deal to end all deals.

    • @takayama1638
      @takayama1638 6 років тому +5

      You can do that Martin. Ram dealers are selling hammers for about $50,000 and you get a new truck, add or subtract a few thousand dollars.

      Well the hammer influence runs pretty deep in the new ram. For instance the marketing executives who came up with the hammer idea, were said to be dumber than a bag of hammers.

    Guys, please film what the person you are interviewing is talking about. They are pointing to stuff, giving details, and referencing stuff and we can't see it because you are keeping the camera on the person. At least take some other footage to edit it later. Thanks.

  • @ScoobyDigites
    @ScoobyDigites 6 років тому +76

    Not a bad looking truck but I will miss the trucky look of the current version without the big ram letters in the grill. Also it would help if the cameraman did a better job actually showing what the person being interviewed is pointing out. Felt like he was standing too close or too zoomed in.

    To all of those people saying the new Ram looks like a ford a chevy or a ...TUNDRA!!!
    Check your facts! All trucks were boring before Dodge came up with the semi truck front theme back in the 90’s.
    This new Ram looks surpasses all expectations, finally a truck that’s not a ford, not a chevy, not a Nissan.
    A truck that refuses to be one of the bunch, and does it beautifully and graciously.
    Excellent job Ram.

      Toribio Contreras if you think that by making the front end of the gmc’s square was a game changer you’re the bafoon. There was nothing radical about it, when Dodge came up with the new pick up design back in 1994, the new 2 level hood to fenders design, that was a radical change, and it took years for chevy and ford to catch up.
      Learn your history boy. Thanks for playing.

      Ford GT I’ve own a f150, a chevy silverado SS, a toyota tacoma, a toyota tundra, then a f150 ecoboost which was a piece of crap, the new ride i have is a 1500 5.7 with 13000 miles, zero disappointments, Zero regrets.
      Smooth ride, smooth transmission, reliable and more roomy than the previous tundra.
      My next ride will be the new rebel if horsepower numbers meet my expectations.
      Dare to be different.

      Is it so hard to get a truck with leather and the nicer interior without getting the huge 12 inch display that will not hold up well over time I like luxury feel and soft touch materials but I don't like the touch screens in my vehicles I like mechanical knobs and switches they don't break as easy they are quicker and easier to use and i've driven dozens of vehicles from all brands and not all the time but some of the time the touchscreens are really laggy and to me that is just unacceptable if not more convenient to use than mechanical switches

    • @lonewanderer3603
      @lonewanderer3603 6 років тому +2

      Npc_Hydra3 Think about this. If you're faced with paying 40 or 50 grand on a truck and you like the old school trucks, you might be better off buying an older truck for 5 or 10 grand and putting 20 grand into it. Then you can have whatever you want. Of course, that doesn't work if you're planning on financing the whole thing. I personally have always loved the old Rams and Adventurer trucks.

      jesse greenwood I meant “looks to be” as what they’ve done overall to the truck. They’ve changed a bunch of things and are trying to improve it, so I gotta give em props for that. Yeah, you’re right, they may have problems, just like any manufacturer does, but between the three, RAM is the most appealing for me. I’d put Chevy’s truck as a close second and Ford last because I’m not a fan of what they’re doing with their power train options. At least Chevy still has their 5.3 motor.

Cars have been using this tech since back in the early 2000’s or earlier and have been on the truck scene since 2008ish. Without seeing these new trucks in person and being able to sit in and feel them, I think the new Ram has the best interior overall. It's not overly expressive, it has nice details, it's going to be the most upscale-looking. It cleans up what the outgoing Ram's interior still has going for it, and the 12" screen is very forward-thinking. I would just hope it's possible to execute the screen functions with a main controller or other physical buttons. The 48-volt system is a great idea, too.

    I hate the fact Dodge and other manufactures are pushing these 20 inch plus rims on their newer vehicles. Here in northern Michigan (go figure) where I put up with lake effect snow, and deep snow during winters. Those rims are garbage when it comes to prevent ice from building up. I want factory options for rims under 18 inches cause the extra rubber helps minimize the ice build up not too mention off roading.
    Also a vibration damper module for the frame? What the f... was the new design not structurally sound under intense vibration so they added that? I don't buy their reason for ride quality.
    Also, did the exterior guy say they lowered the truck stance by one inch for their rebel which is basically a off road vehicle? Cause... just no.
    Lastly is there anything new with the engines beyond a bunch of bolt on packages added to aging engine designs? I would have thought with the success of their hellcat engines they would have at least gave us a neutered version of it (read as modified without supercharger).
    So far it's all been underwhelming.

    All the new truck are morphing into a Toyota/ford cross bread. They are all looking the same on the inside ( ford-ish ) and starting to look like Toyota/ford grill cross breeds on the outside. Worst thing is the good trim levels with good options are ridiculously to high.

    Hopefully they still offer the manual transmission with the Cummins

      Noah Tiemann well this is the 1500. Last time I checked they don't offer a Cummins in the 1500 line. Just the HD/ 2500, but yes I would hope when the redesign the HD line up, they keep the manual!

      Doubt it. I don't think the platform allows for a stick shift. If the sales volume is there, they might. But if not they will probably not invest the engineering into it.

      What the should the shifter look like? A hammer.

      I’d doubt they will have a Manual.

      2020 will be the last year for the manual option in the Ram 2500/3500 with the diesel. Right now its still an option but only with certain grades, and just with the diesel.

    I’m torn between weather these trucks look like a Durango or GMC Acadia in front. Love it regardless. Thanks TFL for this very in-depth interview

    Did they say that they lowered the truck? That's exactly what I was looking for in an offroad truck, lower to the ground with smaller tires! SMH

      LastStarFoster Haven't gotten to that point in the vid yet but I'm guessing they mean they lowered the body lines to make it look lower, not that they lowered the ride height if you see what I mean.

      LastStarFoster Oh ok that's idiotic, but I guess it's the fca way.

      Another video says it's one inch higher. I believe the one inch lower is automatic after a certain speed on the highway to increase fuel economy at those speeds.

      Veritas726 Like less air resistance and presumably immproved high speed stability due to there being less lift presumably?

    Everyone always complains about the headlight visibility and I concur as my truck has terrible visibility at night.
    When you guys get one at TFL HQ, a video at night comparing 2017 or 2018 would be an amazing addition to a mashup please please please 👌👍

    That new interior with the current exterior design would make me an instant buyer.
