There is no particular set up. Just cast on (we do a long tail cast on). On the first row: k1 and sl1 with yarn over. Turn work and from there on, do as on this video.
Do you need an even or odd number of stitches?
Thanks for the explanation 😘
Can you do a tutorial by castting a few stitches first and show us what you mean by turn work? Do you cast on even or odd number of stitches? Thanks
Love this video!!! Will you please consider doing brioche in the round? Thank you!! XOXO from U.S. ❤
i'm gonna give it a try tonight ;)
I love that the sketch at the beginning of the video has both poodles in it. 🥰
And Carlos’ sounds effects are brilliant!😂
Thank you!
I'm a brazilian knitter and I must say: after I learned norwegian way to knit with you, I no longer use any other technique. It's just incredible.
I have tried both the Norwegian knit and the purl and find it very easy. I am not as fast as Arne, but it is coming. I love it.
Same team here. Brazilian (MG) learning and loving this! Brioche is my next project FOR SURE!
OMG!!! I never had any interest in Brioche (beside the bake goods. Lol) and everyone make it sound soooo complicated. And now i want to try it, just for fun.😊 Thank you so much guys! 🤗🤗🤗😁😁😁
Give it a go!
I also taught myself Norwegian knitting by watching your videos during lockdown! And I love Norwegian knitting! Thank you Arne and Carlos, for sharing!
I really need to learn the Norwegian Way...so much quicker! Love the new intro sketch with both puppies ❤️
Very excited to see you guys do the 2 color brioche. I've tried 3 different times to learn brioche and literally thrown each project across the room from frustration. Oh my word this is so much easier.
Yeh, I taught myself to Norwegian knit in lock down, plus to knit toe up socks .... loving it 😀thanks you two.
You are welcome!
You will never regret it 💞
So did I, this past month, I've been trying all the new ways to hold the yarn. This is my favorite. I'm working on my first pair of socks, two at a time cuff down. when I tried two at a time toe up there were too many holes and I couldn't stand looking at them, so I started another going cuff down. I'll try it again after a while.
I’m with ya! I am (or I should say, I WAS) a continental knitter. I learned Norwegian with the Christmas balls. Then perfected my Norwegian Cha-Cha-Cha by making a Christmas stocking with my left over Christmas ball yarn. I can’t tell ya how many times I had to “pull the cord” in case of emergency!
@@shannonb7263 I smile at myself when I catch my finger going up and I pull the cord. At first I have to stare at my fingers to figure out what's wrong. It gets more and more comfortable.
Thank you for taking the fear out of learning Brioche!
You are welcome!
Carlos you are so funny! I was intimidated with brioche but I made a scarf with cables in brioche in two colors!!!! I love watching you both knit and talk! Thank You!!!!!
I can only learn from you two. Knitting is so hard. I am trying to make a sneaker sock. My Dutch friend made me a pair of sneaker socks years ago and I love them. Please teach me how to do them. I love you both. I want to be best friends. Have a great day. So glad I found you. Been knitting for 3 months.
Keep up the good work!
I'm so glad you taught me to knit Norwegian style before I tried brioche, Arne & Carlos 👏
You are welcome!
Fun doing brioche that way.
Enjoyed seeing you both interacting with each other.
Thank you!
I love the new sketch of you both and the both of the fur baby’s!!!!!!!!!!!
You’ve done it again! Awesome tutorial of brioche knitting. I have steered clear of brioche but I learned Norwegian Knitting from you two so...I know I can do it!!!
You can do it!
Great demo! When you show us the two colors brioche next, could you start with the cast on? Thanks this was very informative. Carlos, you really look energized and well! Arne, you’re such an encouraging teacher!
Yes, I also would like to see how this is started, and two colours!
Thank you for your feedback!
@@valeriekoochin3569 me too! :)
I finally started a project where I could use brioche, and I love it! This is the ultimate 'I can't be bothered' stitch 🤣
😂😂❤️
OMG! I went to three brioche workshops already and I still didn't understand 🤣 thank you so much for this one! I can do this.
You can!
This is so fun to watch.
No wait!! I love the karate noises to demonstrate the knit!!!
I love your interactions with each other. Yes, more patterns since you don't have any patterns in brioche that I see. Always a fan.
I really look forward to learning two color brioche with you two, both circular and flat. I ❤️ your videos. Once I switched to Norwegian style knitting as you teach it, knitting became SO easy.
We are so glad to hear that!
That looked amazingly easy!
Carlos is getting saucy! Love it!
I have watched so many videos and tried brioche, hated it and never understood it. This is a revelation!!!!!
I want to knit beautiful things like that when I grow up! (I’m 60-something.)😋 You guys are so much fun to watch. Thank you for the chuckles and grins.
Wow, love that stitch, thank you!
So nice and so timely!
I loved the candid, random shot beginning!!
Amazing! That looks so easy!
You two encourage me to try so many new things. When you said brioche was easy if you knit the Norwegian way, that was all I needed to hear. I found a two color tutorial and it is quite easy the Norwegian way. The yarn over , two together is a nice, fluid movement. Like Carlos I’m not afraid anymore and if I see a pattern with some brioche I won’t overlook it. Once again, thank you!
You are welcome!
Thanks so very much for teaching the Norwegian way of knitting Brioche. I've always wanted to learn how to knit Brioche, but I've been hesitant because I thought it was difficult. You have opened up a new knitting world to me....Brioche!!!
Happy knitting!
You did a great job knitting Carlos
makes so much sense...the first time I ever understood brioche...thank you
You're welcome Virginia!
NOW brioche makes sense! Thank. you!
Oh soo gonna have a go at this! Thanks you two. Love your vlogs
I enjoyed learning how to knit brioche and once my finger heals, I will give it a go … thank you Arne & Carlos
You are welcome Sandra!
Wow. That blew my mind. Going to try this today
Now I want to knit a brioche scarf. Tusen takk!
I'm totally loving that scarf....love the colours and the yarn looks fabulous.
Great easy now learned something new thanks to you two👍😊❤
You are welcome!
If I were not occupied with crocheting your beautiful blankets, I would start immediately knitting a scarf in brioche stitch. But i will start after finishing the project. During the pandemic I learned so much from you both. Thank you so much. Your videos are always very funny and informative. Take care.
We are glad you like them!
Fantastic demo. I learnt to knit norwegian style from you two and now this stitch. Thankyou.
Did I really witness Carlos at a loss for words? 😮😀😉 Love you Carlos ❤️😍😀
That was my thought as well. Also, that Carlos was having fun!
I’ve always knitted Norwegian way since grandma Nysted taught me as a tiny girl. I am knitting very boring shawl, but now I’m putting blocks of brioche into it! Much more fun!
Excellent! Thank you once again for explaining your knitting! I can’t wait to try this! 😁
I am very happy to say that Arne taught me to knit Norwegian style over this covid period. Now I've found another good reason for this style. I was disappoint though with today's video, since you didn't show how one is to cast on and start knitting Brioche. Hopefully in the next video you'll show us that. So glad to have you both back and with a healthier Carlos.
So EASY!! Thanks Guys!
This is genius! Thanks for taking the mystery out of Brioche!
Wow, looks so easy, thank you. The room you two are in looks cozy.
Brioche, I thought it was French sweet bread! Now I know you can knit it to😃! I enjoyed this podcast, thank you!
Great job, Carlos!! And great teaching, Arne!!
WOW!...THATS BRIOCHE? thank you for showing me how easy it is. I've also heard that it takes longer to complete a pattern. If it's that easy it shouldn't take that long. Thank you so much for this tutorial, Sharon 🥰

OK you solved the mystery!!! Thank you, this looks so awesome. I learned brioche the traditional way just last year, but will definitely try this. 🥰❤❤❤
Thank you. I am so happy you are going to do brioche with us. I have purchased books and online classes to learn brioche and then discovered the instructors were “throwers.” I figured it out, but it has been a challenge and thus avoided. You are excellent teachers. Here we go!
OMG! Game changer!!
Well, that was easy enough. Looking forward to the next video.
So are we!
This was a great video. You explained it so well! Waiting on the two color brioche video.
