I am new to brioche and my first time I learned from a 'thrower' knitter. Lots of tears...I thought brioche was the hardest stitch ever. Then I tried again but from a continental knitter and wow... I now love brioche. Something about holding the yarn in the left hand results in an easy rhythm.

Everytime I see people throwing it drives me bonkers because it seems so inefficient. So much extra movement makes my hands and brain ache.

My daughter caught a glimpse of you both on my tablet and thought Arne was Rod Stewart. Of course you are a rockstar! Your stage name could be “Arne Ull”. Thank you for all your talent and inspiration and for sharing with us. I am relearning brioche stitch. After Nancy Marchant invented her ‘brk’ and ‘brp’ knitting notation system I got really confused, so thank you again for bringing brioche back to its lovely simplicity. Knit on…

You guys are so fun to watch. I basically have learned to knit a few weeks ago by watching your videos. It’s great to have Carlos demo as the “learner” and ask the questions I would ask (incl. asking Arne to go very slow and repeat multiple times) and having all the technical knowledge from Arne. Plus the banter is very entertaining. I have to say you guys make things less complicated. I really like the Norwegian way of knitting…I wasn’t sure I’d be able to hold the string the other ways. I look forward to try this brioche style with 2 colors on a hat

Know one thing (among many) that I admire about you two? The Teaching One is gracious and patient and the Learning One is receptive and hard working. Both are generous and supportive to the other.
I am the daughter of an artist. When I was very young my mother tried to teach me how to draw. We both ended up getting frustrated. It’s difficult to take or give instruction to a family member.
I soon discovered that music was my métier! (Heh).
PS I think two-colored brioche is easier than one-colored because of the clear pattern/color delineation. Do you think so too? I suppose it’s all easy for you. Xx

I am just learning how to knit thanks to your videos. I don't think I will be ready for brioche for a while as I am still working on mastering the knit and purl stitch. I have enjoyed the brioche series. You are a good teacher Arne - loved how you started Carlos with the basic flat brioche and worked up to two color brioche. I love how 2 color looks and all the diff patterns with increases and decreases but was overwhelmed when reading the instructions - I have never knitted brioche before so no wonder I was overwhelmed. Now I know to start a swatch with the basic!!

I have wanted to try brioche for a long time but never got around to it. Your tutorial is the inspiration I need to learn at last. The first time I saw brioche was in Vogue Knitting magazine a while ago which used two colours in the patterns, so I didn't know you could knit brioche with one yarn. The other technique I want to learn is entrelac. It is an adventurous idea, but I can imagine a brioche entrelac scarf in two colours. I've been knitting since I was a child and it is great to have something new to learn all these years later. I plan to watch your tutorials on how to knit the Norwegian way because I don't hold my yarn correctly. Your way looks so much faster and easier if I can master it. Thanks for another great video.

I know you're not a fan of magic loop, but 2-color brioche is much easier on just two needles (or one small circular)!! I'm working on my first two brioche projects, the Letho Sweater and the Current Mood shawl. One thing that has really helped me is to look at the row I am about to knit and if I see lots of "red" for example, then I know I need to use the "white" yarn (and vice versa).Thank you, as always, for sharing your lives with us. xoxo

I am so glad you are showing how to do the 2-color Brioche. I've just started experimenting with doing increases and decreases to make some really fun patterns. I've been using the Norwegian purl and have found that it makes Brioche stitch so much easier! I admit it was difficult for me since I was self-taught holding the yarn on my right. But I kept at it and have much improved. Thanks for all of your tutorials!

Will need a bit more time to manage the two colours and I think the concentration plus the talking is quite a success ! Thank you to that relaxed approach it looks like its really possible !!

I have never knit in the round, but you both explain things so well and also watching it happen makes me want to try! Love to you both and of course to Freya and Helmer. From myself and my dog, Willow 😊

Not confusing...great job teaching :) I'm looking forward to trying this Norwegian style to see if it's easier for me. Also looking forward to seeing what the "my way" version is, lol.

I love watching both of you knit. I am a crocheter and try to learn how to knit but I must say I am a bit scared to even just do it.. (fingers crossed that I will start real soon)....

@@ARNECARLOS Thank you for your confidence in that I to can learn to knit, it is much appreciated. Its funny that I did not feel this overwhelmed when I taught myself to crochet I just bought the yarn(the cheapest on the market) and made a blanket 5ft by 8ft (for my mom to cuddle with in her last months on this plain, but she past earlier then expected I finished it 2 weeks after saying goodbye to her 2-21-2019) I started Oct 2018 finished March 8th 2019. Maybe I just need to by some yarn(not the cheapest on the market) and just knit a blanket... HUGS from Indianola, Iowa US

Carlos you made me laugh ;) i did brioche for the first time too the 1 color flat, after your video that day. and i was wrestling with the needles too like you did now i get it too but that day i was constantly telling to myself frustraded, my gosh in a minute i'm gonna use my needles alschop sticks because eating chinees with chop sticks looks like easier than brioche and i can't eat with chopsticks neither :) ;) thanks to Arne i knit brioche too now since that video a view months ago but i have to concentrate on wich and how to do the next stich all the time. I find it hard to rembember how the repeat row is at that time, to get in the flow of it if you know how to do it it's a fun and beautiful stitch to do. i love it now to do.

Great work Carlos! Also, what a great way to teach us by having the both of you there together: one who is experienced and the other who is not, so we can see the errors we might make and anticipate how to fix them. I wondered when you were first attaching the red yarn, Carlos, if you lost the yarn-over by trying to rearrange the red yarn (7:44 "I'm just going to tighten this one up a little bit"). I was saying to myself while I watched the video, "Oh no! I think you just undid your yarn over!" Then, when you got back around and were ready to start the next round in white, you couldn't find it. (Or maybe I am misunderstanding what the issue was when Arne took over your knitting at 13:08) If that is what happened, then Arne, is there a different way to first attach the second color (ie. red) so that the initial yarn-over doesn't fall off or get lost?

Love it! No inferiority complexes! I keep that same attitude with just enjoying the process and relaxing. Time does go by. I will try this on a swatch first. I am always so anxious to start a project. Not the ops!!! Those polar bears are adorable. Are they from your little antiquing outs? It’s Sunday the 2nd of May and just sitting here enjoying your channel as I take out two WIP’s and decide which to begin first.

Hi Carlos and Arnie 👋 . As always you are both fascinating 🤨 to watch but brioche looks tricky 🤔 . Still learning to master knitting Norwegian style. Knit rows are great but struggle with purl row or as you put it ‘cha cha cha’
    Love your accents xx
