Loved this! My mum taught me that if you drop a bit of eggshell into something, use the rest of the eggshell to scoop it out - it seems to work! Don't know if it attracts its fellow egg bits or it's just a handy way of immediately scooping eggshells out but I've always done it and it works! Keep cooking Arne! xx

Awesome job guys! I have to admit there were some moments when I was making suggestions to the screen - especially "Arne, use a spoon to remove the excess sugar/yeast etc," but then Arne grabbed a spoon and did exactly that. I'm impressed with my psychic ability to make you do my bidding from Canada, several days before I even saw the episode 🤣🤣 PS salt limits yeast rise, which is possibly part of the reason that Arne's dough rose more.... and why many yeast recipes have you add the salt after the creamy/frothy stage....

I love this segment. I can explain the importance of Carlos’ damp cloth. Carlos’ damp cloth adds moisture to the dough which helps the dough to rise. You can alternatively create a proof box by placing the dough in your oven along with a pan of hot water. The hot water creates the moisture, similar to Carlos’s cloth, and the oven keeps the dough warm. Keep baking! It is so much fun to watch.

Great fun! I can almost smell the bread! 🍞 One Thanksgiving, my mom and aunt took a pumpkin and followed the recipe on the pumpkin pie can ( not canned pumpkin ) to make 17 pumpkin pies 🥧. Once they were baked,, a taste test revealed they did not put ANY sugar in the 17 pies. They tried to rescue them by scratching the surface of the pie and sprinking sugar on top. It was an EPIC failure as pies go, but it created world class memories for all of us!

Great brioche baking, you guys are a trip!
A handy tip is to break eggs into a separate bowl before adding them to a recipe in order to avoid unwanted pieces of shell getting into the rest of the ingredients.
Using the empty half of the broken eggshell (as was previously mentioned)to scoop out any stray pieces of shell from the cracked raw egg in the bowl really does work. Like magic, the shell attracts it's own pieces to itself making it easy to scoop them out before adding the egg to the dish. Who knows why this works, but it does.

I’m a day late but what fun in the kitchen. Arne, so modest and unassuming; I can “see” the little boy. Gamin charmant (my French is rusty, but I really think there is no better word than gamin).
Carlos - I love how your better self takes over the impulse to correct and guide and you 1) let Arne shape the dough “his way” (as he is determined to do anyway) and 2) graciously give the victory to Arne. I loved your loaf, Carlos, and YOU were the pioneer.
Love to both of you and thanks. Xx

This was so much fun to watch, fellas. Ron (husband) said "pass it thru !" Yes, my mouth is watering. You know, Arne came up w/a great idea when he just made dough balls right out of the bowl, then placed them in the pans. Both of your efforts look delicious. Funny when you realized you'd forgotten salt ! But they still turned out great ! Love your kitchen!

Wow! Arne, you did a brilliant job. I think the longer loaf looks amazing - just perfect. And you two looked like you enjoyed yourselves so much. Thanks for sharing with us.

When my kids lived at home, I baked bread every Saturday, but I never tried brioche. I've saved the recipe to try!

This episode is so entertaining for me. And i just laughed so hard when Arne is stirring the mixture and the hook drops on his hand and his facial expression 😅😅🤣

I have to agree with Arne, no plastic is needed. My mother made bread and amazing cinnamon rolls, only covered with a towel. The plastic can cause moisture to build up over the dough.

Congratulations to Miss Brioche 2021. I bet a warm piece of that brioche would be even better with some cloudberry jam!

You and your balls - you crack me up! I adore your cooking practicals, I went straight from this to your Norwegian waffle episode. Breakfast will never be the same again...

That would be with a stand mixer fitted with a bread hook. In America a food processor is totally different. It is a round bowl with a lid with a blade attachment at the bottom. Your shows are entertaining and informative. I make your recipes and they are a hit with my family . Sending love from Texas!

This is a wonderful video! You guys are so humorous when you help each other do things... I can smile days later just remembering. Arne, when my granddaughter helps me bake, she always cracks the eggs into a separate bowl so she can dig out any shells that get in before they go into the big bowl. I hope the bread tasted as good as it looked!

Arne next time you make your brioche bread crack the eggs in a separate bowl so if the shell pieces fall in you can get them out. Use part of the shell piece to get it out as it attracts the pieces to it. It looks delish! 😍

Yay Arne!!! You won! I have to say you both did very good though...they all look delicious. I'm a bit late watching because my little dog had an emergency so we were at the doggie hospital yesterday. He is going to be fine and should be 100 percent better in a week. I love watching you two in the kitchen......actually I enjoy all your videos no matter what they are about.
