    Hey Adam....what a great presentation by the team (Heidi & you) You forgot that this aircraft is fully air conditioned
    I have not flown a Balsa since I had wires, so many years ago & you were not even born. Just love this plane. I must try a balsa someday soon.
    Regards & well done....Oh those in flight video shots are excellent.

    The ultimate in classic balsa. Beautiful, simple, and flyable. As I have come to expect another great walk through and set of flight videos. Great job.

    Great flying and on-board footage, too. Scary Crystal Lake and the Haunted Woods are a lot closer than they look from the ground! I agree with you about foam and balsa just flying differently; both have their strong points. Super review, flying and camera work from Heidi 😃

    Nice review of the Hanger 9 PT-19. I really like the onboard footage and thanks for not having the volume too loud, the direct comparison between the onboard and Heidi's perspective was really nice. This really is something for consideration in the balsa category, I have had a couple but much smaller planes. Thanks Adam and Heidi.

    That is a beautiful Aircraft, and she flys as good as she looks too!. The price shocked me, I couldn't believe it wasn't $600 or more in all honesty, but I usually am the person who doesn't complain about the price of something as long as it does what the manufacturer says it is supposed to do, looks good, flys, drives, or shoots 😉 good. I have flown my friends Balsa Models and I absolutely LOVE the way they fly, I do love my Foamies but it's true that ya can't beat a Balsa RC Airplane on looks and as long as she is put together good, the way it flys. I can honestly say this will be my first Balsa Model just to get my feet wet. I have enough room for 4 more RC Airplanes/EDF Jets and I am going to be very picky about what I decide to get, but this beautiful Aircraft will be my first Balsa Model. I will always make some room for UMX Airplanes though 😂
    It's going to probably be closer to Christmas before I am able to get this Bird but I can come back and watch you fly her 🤠 BIG THANKS to you and Mrs Heidi for sharing this with all of us, your Setup page's have been a HUGE help to me getting the base setup done fast and with no problems at all. Man what a neat review Adam! I really like these "fun scale" models from HH, kinda takes it back in time for sure. Thanks for showing us what she's really capable of. I've had one of these (the Great Planes version) that I bought used years ago and STILL haven't flown it! This video just might inspire me to dust it off and finally get it out to the runway. Happy landings and all the best to you my friend!

    Looking at the aerial footage, if you lose a model outside the field boundary, there will be barely any point in taking the walk of shame with black plastic binbag as it will be in a tree or a lake! This looks like a very sweet model. In other news I have finally got back to the bench and am finishing off the VQ Cub so I'll be able to start that Decathlon soon!

    Love this plane and the PNP kit. My only complaint is the prerequisite of being locked into the Spektrum ecosystem. Great video!

    • @ModelAV8RChannel
      @ModelAV8RChannel  9 місяців тому +1

      It is a cool plane for sure, but PNP (Plug and play)says it all...you install whatever RX you want...any protocol. You're not really locked into anything.
      That said, something else that I find interesting...most that have a complaint about the Spektrum system haven't really tried it in my experience. I was just like you at one point...the proprietary nature of it annoyed me, and a lot of the features seemed like gimmicks I didn't need. Honestly, now that I'm versed in it, I very much enjoy being able to have so much information and control at my fingertips. It was like heated seats in a car for me...I thought "who needs that"...then I had heated seats. Turns out...I may not need it, but I like it. Not saying it is for everybody, but many knock it that haven't truly tried it, and many more really like the ease of the system. Something out there for everybody I guess.

    • @tommathelamma
      @tommathelamma 9 місяців тому +1

      @@ModelAV8RChannel My issue is having to have a compatible Spektrum radio system to get the full capability that you are paying for, in what I understand to be the kits’ only configuration. I fly ExpressLRS radio systems (half my fleet is drones and long range FPV planes). Now I don’t doubt the Spektrum ecosystem products are great. Plenty of guys swear by them and the ease of use is phenomenal compared to ELRS which is not beginner friendly at all really, but open source and insanely customizable (important to me). Despite Spektrum’s ease of use it’s a bit of a hard sale to make an investment in a new Radio, and a smart charger to get the full benefit. Again, great video and great content! Spektrum equipment or not, I’m just hoping this trend of PNP Balsa planes continues!

    Hi Adam, I have one flying in 6s, what I experienced is that when the plane dives with increasing speed, it has a tendency to nose up, also when accelerating when flying level, it has a high tendency to nose up automatically. I asked some veterans in my club, and they say this maybe due to its wing shape and configuration, I would really like to know if you observed such phenomenon and your opinion on this?

    • @ModelAV8RChannel
      @ModelAV8RChannel  Рік тому

      Hey LIn. I didn't experience that. Balance and trim can affect that, and what your friends are saying is true sometimes as well. With a high lift airfoil like the one the PT-19 has, as you increase speed, it makes more lift, and that can cause the nose to come up. Flying it on 6s probably exacerbates that feeling because you accelerate much quicker, and end up flying faster than I was on 4s.

    Fantastic video (as always). I have the opportunity to trade in my new Eflite 1.2m T-28 Trojan for this, would you make the swap? Bit apple and oranges comparison perhaps, but would be very helpful to receive your insights. All the best.

    • @ModelAV8RChannel
      @ModelAV8RChannel  Рік тому +1

      Wow Jonathan, that is a tough comparison. They are both warbirds (kinda) but they are very different. I'll give this a go for ya...
      The T-28 is easier to fly in every way. It is lighter, and has tricycle gear. That said the PT-19 isn't hard to fly, it just isn't as easy to fly as the T-28. It has a bit of a higher wing loading and is a taildragger. Those aren't bad things, just different.
      You hear so many people in the hobby say "The lighter the better". Sometimes that is true, but not always. One of the things that makes this hobby great is that a new, or different experience can be had anytime you want it...just change planes. They all fly different and that keeps things fresh. Planes with a dreaded "Higher wing loading" can still fly great and offer a different experience as well as add skills to your piloting tool box. I only point this out because my first sentence would make up a lot of minds in this, but in my opinion more thought is required.
      If you fly the T-28 well, the PT-19 is in your wheel house for sure. They have some similar capabilities, but the T-28 on 4s is hotter for sure. Really man it just depends on what you want more. If you've never flown balsa and you want to try it, the PT-19 is a great first option and more resistant to hangar rash. The T-28 is the best flyer of the 1.2 warbird line. Both planes are great examples of their respective genre. Whatever you chose, hope this helped, and happy flying!

      @@ModelAV8RChannel sincere thanks for the response. Certainly need to mull this. I guess my immediate two questions (if you may indulge me) are - 1. Would 6s change this model up a bit more, and give you a wider flight envelope such that you could fly it a bit hotter? 2. Long term, if you had to keep one for a long period, which of the two planes would you keep and hold, and why ?
      Unfortunately my hangar space (and wife’s willingness to indulge me on this !) are a little limited therefore lots of planes not an option! My other plane currently is a FMS P51 “blue thunder” 1100mm and absolutely love it. Started flying earlier this year (entirely self taught and by watching channels like yours) and have successfully flown a Habu SS on 4s and 6s : sadly lost this a few weeks back after getting distracted. Rookie error !
