Thank you for the lovely comment! I"m just curious, where did you find out about this video because I haven't started to properly share it yet since I'm busy working on the behind the scenes? Last 24h, it started getting many views seemingly out of nowhere and i want to thank whoever shared it.
I was subscribed to your channel because of a previous animation you had posted about an alien tree creature, I thought it was so cool I shared it on r/dinosaurs, hope you don’t mind!
Finally, i find a real Artist in the 3d medium! Not just another soulless technician dishing out another uninspired alien, aliens, or bladerunner knockoff. You are a huge inspiration to me. I look forward to how you evolve as an artist.
I love this so much. The painterly atmosphere, the colour palette, the sauropod animation and design is some of the best I've seen in the medium, the parasitic amphibians are an incredibly fun concept and makes this world feel breathing and inhabited. Genuinely phenomenal work.
I mean, technically we kind of like the same thing (birds). And hey, im still waiting for that avatar animation of yours 😅, at least post some behind the scenes shots.
Bruh, all of this needs to be in video games. We need the jiggies, the hairies, the windies (because "blow" is a word to get weirded out now.:/) and the bashies. We need all of them in games and Blender is THE software to do so. CHOP CHOP NEXT GEN!
The close up environment is sculpted and modeled, all manual. The far away background is matte painting. There are some great tutorials out there on matte painting and sculpting 🙂
WOW this is incredible and I am a blender dinosaur animator too. one of the films I plan to make will have something like this because it will be based on a comic book titled Age of Reptiles The Journey
Really nice animation! Only thing thay weirds me out is the sauropod model, which looks more akin to an echidna than a dinosaur, but the animation is very solid. I also love the coloration of the sky and environment.
Because of the quills, I think I get it. I wanted to add feathers, did some research on primitive feathers in big sauropods and how they could potentially look more as quills. But in the end creature design is my main thing so i usually take some liberties with the look of my creatures.
I really like the atmosphere that the storm in the far distance gives off, and the jiggling skin. Especially at the belly region and how it's stretching at the armpits. One minor nitpick I'd have is the anatomy of the hindligs, because if you look up to skeletal drawings you'll see that no Sauropods had such elongated tarsal bones.
You are totally right about that. There are even some other anatomy issues with the sauropod. But i had advanced too much with the project when people pointed them out and was too late to go back and fix them.
Those are amphibians that can not survive on the dry lands anymore so they stay on the bottop part of the sauropod to hide from the sun and feed of the mold growing on the dinosaurs sweaty skin. Its a symbiotic relationship, kind of.
Why not do your next project like this in 360°? People will love to see it! I re-rendered an old and simple advertisement project in 360 and got more than 600k views. Think about it ;c)
I have experimented with that type of render but there are a few reasons why i don't do it. From what i know it's available only on cycles and unless you are ready to render it jn 4K, the quality will be horrible = insanely big render times. Another issue is that you have to make the scene look good in all angles which takes more work/time. Still though, that's a great idea and if it will be possible in Eevee one day, i will try it out.
@@UnknownDino Yeah, It needs to be at least 4k :c( I am waiting EEVEE having equirretangular camera too. About the render time in Cycles, Sheepit render farm is great and free. And even in 360 you can still animate the camera and guide the viewer's attention making the background not so intersting or a little foggy or out of focus like I did in this other one ua-cam.com/video/_D_7bH-ctLo/v-deo.html
@@Savage.Doomer from what i remember at the time, latest studies suggested otherwise. I did not go much in depth really, just wrote "did big dinosaurs have feathers" and some suggestions took place. Still though i tend to take some liberties when it comes to creature design because these are huge projects that take a lot of time and energy to make so i mostly want to have fun while i practice Blender 3D.
Oh man, this is incredible. The atmosphere, the life clinging to existence. You are super talented

Not at all. Love
the support! Thank you.
This is better than any Jurassic movies I have seen. Insanely gorgeous. You got every single thing right, I just didn't want it to end. :)
Damn!.. That camera movement. ... Inspiring work.

Truly inspiring words!
I'll keep pushin it 👍
This is incredible!

Damn I love how you did the feathers
Very nicely done there. Love the lighting and the skin movement.
what a great work , i'd love to see more
Very cinematic bro. Keep uploading.
DUUUUDE - as much as Im obsessed with ducks. I think I like your Dinos more!

This is so atmospheric and emotional!
This is very cool and great well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This video seriously should have more likes, this stuff looks like It came from a movie
Is there any way you can make a longer version of this? I have seen ot more than 100 times and this never gets bored! Make a longer version please.
Damn thats awesome 👌
Looks really good! Came here from Reddit
Great work!

The colors are beautiful. Holy shit this is amazing so good

This is fricking incredible, I love it
course
What kind of species of this dinosaur
Just a made up one, loosely based on the apatosaurus
The thin neck is disturbing 😔
But overall nice Sauropod 👍
Woooow
please make a tutorial how you make a dinosaur

could you make some more please.. this is so cool
Let me guess, you are one of the assassins sent from the "killer duck".
Well what other choice have i but to comply.
Hehehe
muahahahaha
Texturing tutorial please
Hey this look great, just wondering did you make the HDRI with the clouds and canyon? if so how?
I made them with blender and photoshop but it's just a background and no HDRI
@@UnknownDino It looks great love the amount of motion and detail put into everything
Creepy 8-O
What are those things attached to the rear leg of the sauropod? This is an absolutely beautiful work by the way

@@tcheadriano yep, that was really gorgeous, really smooth animation.
how long that you spend for this work?
Close to 1.5 months. But i kind of lost track of time because i had to restart it multiple times.
This is really great. How did you do the muscle and fat jiggles?
I used simple cloth simulation with high stiffness.
So there is no real muscle sim, just the semblance of it.
@@UnknownDino That's clever. It turned out pretty good.
@@hoverBOXcreative 😊 thanks, i was surprised myself after the first test.
How do you make the enviroment?
It's modeled and sculpted in blender.
@@UnknownDino do you sell enviorment archive? wow in blender do not use world creator and make matte painting too
What computer do you use to do this?
Gtx 1080ti and 32gig ram ddr3. These were the only good-ish specs I had the time of this project. The rest was weak and below average.
Music?
In the description 👍
Why do they have fur?
It's based on primitive feathers that according to some studies seem mostly like quills and hair.
@@UnknownDino Sauropods didn't have them though.

🙂, thank you. I'll keep improoving.
0:13 what the heck is that thing crawling on its back 🙄
some kind of amphibian species that has nowhere else to live but on the body of the dinosaur.
@@UnknownDino wow
is it real ?
It happens in nature with existing animals but in this case (with dinosaurs) it's just my imagination.
@@UnknownDino you put quill knobs on Sauropods back
That was the moment I was like finally 😎
