The extinction of Dino's happened because an engineering oversight. Absolutely wonderful.
You call it oversight. I call it an act of pure chaos for chaos sake.
Speaking as a product design engineer, I can confirm that the root cause was not an engineering oversight, rather it was the lack of a complete set of product requirements. 🤣 🤣 🤣
@@Acceleronics As a former Business Analyst/Requirements Manager, the requirement was likely in the documentation but was ignored by the Tech Lead; who built it before the requirements were complete. QA was skipped entirely and UAT was done by different roles than the actual end user. ;)
Sounds about right. Bureaucrats doing bureaucratic things.
More like a misengineering undersight
I have been studying dinosaurs for over 47 years and I can confirm that this is how it happened.

i think you mean the genius is not in the joke but rather its extinction :P
Yeah, I was all "Really?! Another Tyrannosaurus has short arms joke?" but then the panic, and then everyone "helping" was pure gold.
This is way more devastating than the story I've been told my whole life
right - the fact that they had a chance - i would say it's devastating hilarious!!!
@@TheFroneyZonethey never had the chance to survive if they design the pad is such a way that the T-rex couldn't reach with his small hands, they easily could have made it so the pad would be higher but they didn't, which is stupid
Worse than the one where the ice age is about to kill them all and the baby asks what is gonna happen?
Watching the grunts go ballistic when they realized their design flaw was going to get them all killed was the best part. That was the most "WE'RE DOOMED" moment I've ever seen.

the moment I saw the hand activation method, I knew how it'd end.
you'd think being dinosaurs they'd use a different type of authentication: sound, feet, tails, things that'd be able to accomodate any type of sentient dino since the a good amount of the Big theropods had very short arms!
Also gonna mention my favorite detail in this is the General is an Ankylosaur, it just works perfectly XD
Exactly... thank God humans learnt from this and now understand UI and UX 😂

They could have a mechanism that would make it closer to his hand

Yea u can ....go ahead and appreciate
Yes, Pink Panther level
The fact that they basically solved world peace (nobody’s killing each other) and managed to make all that technology but still had that major of a design flaw is hilarious. Fortunately, we won’t ever be in that much danger because we can calculate if a meteor might collide with us. Thanks NASA, you have been redeemed for all the animals you sent to space.
I say we take a moment to appreciate the fact that President Rex having short arms and JASA having design flaws in their launch system, are the reason us mammals are here today...

You have an extremely low bar for genius.
@@Ryfinius I'll take that as a compliment.
@@Ryfinius Or you have too high of one
That joke has always been dumb. Why not make a cartoon of a human trying to bring down a Triceratops or an Edmontosaurus with a bite? Or of a human trying to identify a single member of its species in a crowded auditorium with a single whiff? Because T.rex could do both of those things. Man is not the measure of all things, least of all Tyrannosaurus rex.

As one of the personosaurs who survived I can confirm this is how it happened. I miss my family.

This short is better than any feature-length disney film we're getting and have gotten recently.
Funny how they made a second door gate for the Rex, but not an elevated handprint scanner lol
Second door was everyday necessity so they had it, but launching missile isn't everyday event so probably they missed it.
You've never met a real engineer then? ;)
These are the hidden usability errors that affect safety.
Well nobody really expected a T-Rex to win the election.
It's the kind of design flaw I think could actually happen to us humans, given the blunders that are sometimes made.

Just noticed the dino doing a little "dance" in the end of the world in the background. Dang, that's a whole other level.
HR said that the command center had to be at least 85% accessible, so they made the wall open up for big dinos, made the console computers small enough to see around the room, and made the front screen large enough to be viewed without perfect vision correction. An internal review revealed that the front authentication console included an accessibility oversight, however.
something i personally admired was how the glasses on the dinosaurs actually worked as glasses, like at 1:35 you can see how realistic the magnification on them are without being too close to the typical cartoony way it’s done. that’s something i’ve been looking for recently that i think is really impressive
That's the difference between hand-drawn and modern computer rendered animation. Photorealistic effects such as image magnification through curved glass occur naturally as a consequence of the fact that the laws of reflection and refraction are an essential part of the raytracing mechanics. We are just getting better at recreating the laws of physics.
Not a big deal.

Amazing, but inaccurate. The shockwave would propogate at the speed of sound in the material. Looks like a steel floor.
