When you grasp the true meaning and the reality of it all it is very moving. This one forgotten 80's song lays out in beautiful simplicity the actual history of our universe. Take this song as the truth of the matter, melding the core of all major religions into a 5 minute song. There is the single creative spirit, his creation and creative counterpart Indian traditions call Shiva and Shiva's dance being the Hide and Seek. I would suggest anyone interested in exploring this to look up two terms. "Ein Sof" and "Solar Logos". This song is quite simply about Ein Sof and Solar Logos.

BTW the hide and seek is birth and death .... so that with each new life you must seek again. At the end of the day there is only one consciousness. Our small portion of consciousness contained in our temporary vessel/body must learn and forget over and over again.

Howard Jones was a giant of the eighties. His synthesiser expertise was obvious. The songs that went with them hauntingly brilliant. Hide and seek was my fave being a twenty year old at that time. I salute you SIR for your contribution to the eighties scene. If I get a reply that would be the icing on the cake.

What a talented guy. He should be in the hall of fame. This song gives me tears tbh. A timeless masterpiece that should be played when mankind is gone like a legacy of soul and passion in an eternal void. A powerful message of a civilization that existed for a short time in the universe. Maybe no one will ever hear or understand it when we are gone but Howard was one of the best in an era when music was the ultimate expression of feelings and artistic excellence

Yeah, HoJo 😉 didnt get his props. They liked dismissing these 80s musicians as one hit wonders & Im guessing they werent big fans of synthesizers either.
But there were some really good artists that continued to put out great music, even to this day, but are still only considered as 80s one hit wonders.

Oh God, I miss the 1980s.
    I bought Human's Lib as a wide-eyed 18-year old.
I had a job, a car, great friends, cool bars and pubs to hang out in. Exuberance and possibilities ruled the day and the future promised even better to come.

I think we were riding the wave of a post ww2 economy and the prosperity for some was reflected in the music, fashion and art. Ultimately, it was all an illusion.
If you take a step back and look what record companies did, they sold things made from oil and trees. They used musical and graphic art to do it.
The 80s was not great for everybody. The UK manufacturing, ship building or mining industries for example. It was a horrible time for them as their jobs were deemed unessential, 40 years before the rest of us were told the same thing.
But I agree, the distraction was better than reality. Plug me back into the Matrix.

There was a time when there was nothing at all
Nothing at all, just a distant hum
There was a being and he lived on his own
He had no one to talk to, and nothing to do
He drew up the plans, learnt to work with his hands
A million years passed by and his work was done
    And his words were these...
Hope you find it in everything, everything that you see
Hope you find it in everything, everything that you see
Hope you find it, hope you find it
Hope you find me in you
So she had built her elaborate home
With it's ups and it's downs, its rains and its sun
She decided that her work was done, time to have fun
and she found a game to play
Then as part of the game
She completely forgot where she'd hidden herself
And she spent the rest of her time
    Trying to find the parts
Hope you find it in everything, everything that you see
Hope you find it in everything, everything that you see
Hope you find it, hope you find it
Hope you find me in you
There was a time when there was nothing at all, nothing at all
    Just a distant hum

We used to go the Marquee in Wardour Street every time Howie played. The best solo performer ever. Watching him smash that bak of keyboards while following the drum machine was mesmerising. Followed his gigs round the UK and clicked with Goldiggers in Chippenham. A few years later, went back to see what the old club was like and then spent the next year banging tunes to their massive soundsystem and suspended light rig. Soul 2 Soul and Inner City were the tracks...

Had Humans Lib on cassette tape when it was first released. Wore this section of the tape out playing this song over and over and over. Stunning track. Still have original programme from Dream into Action tour mid 80's. Saw him at the N.E.C, Birmingham. Truly awesome concert that created a memory for life. Just today purchased Humans Lib on vinyl in mint condition, can't wait to get it on the deck. Thanks for posting these songs, brilliant memory lane trip !!!

Howard jones had so many great songs you never, ever hear on any so called 80s music radio station etc,let alone a commercial station.
All you ever hear is what is love or new song.He was just as big as any of the 80s stars, and yet hes rarely mentioned in that conversation.
I bought absolutely everything he did in the 80s,including all the 12" singles.
Great songs like this, and others like no one is to blame etc just lost in the music wilderness.
You have to love youtube really, for trying to keep great work like this reachable to the masses.

Love that atmospheric sound at the beginning. I grew-up listening to his first album Human's Lib all the time. I can see him playing the famous Yamaha DX7 around 1:10. Definitely his music influenced me to love electronic music of the 80's. I bought my DX7 in 1986 and loving ever since. those vintage synths like the Roland Jupiter-8 and Yamaha DX7 are still amazing synths, much better sounds that those modern synths, as they have such a characteristic sound. Evolving and powerful music......... Love the 80's music!

    • @philiprhodes5537
      @philiprhodes5537 4 місяці тому

Yes and a game we all consent to play before we arrive here..
The real purpose of each life experience is to learn lessons about the self and to progress on a spiritual level for each lesson we learn..
We are all connected as one because we all come from the same source where we all go back to eventually…
This planet is merely a breif encounter we experience as a spiritual being living a human exsistence and is a test to see how we deal with certain aspects of this life that we encounter…
The line he sings ‘hope you find me in you’ is a perfect example of how spiritual Howard jones is because what he means is that we are all intrinsically linked as one from the same source so you are me and I am you and we’re merely a different expression of the same source energy…
I don’t mind admitting this song brings tears everytime I hear it because as things stand people are so divided by opinions politics and religion they will never realise we are all actually the same and from the same place where we will go back to at the end of this lifetime experience
