I had an order in Michigan 2 weeks ago that said 7.00 and it was a stacked order for 6 miles. I took the order and picked up one of the orders then seen the other order was at a pizza place that always takes forever so I cancelled that one and made the first delivery. The lady paid me 7.00 it was only a mile away. So the other order was technically free as it appeared for 5 more mile. I called Doordash support complaining. This job was gonna be for free and they looked it up and told me they were paying a dollar which is not even the base pay and I argued with them and recorded the whole conversation. So it just shows Doordash is definitely using other orders to get other orders completed.
i just had this happen today thanks to this video. i found deliveries i literally was paid zero for, because they stacked it with a decent tipping order.
geeze, just noticed that they are not paying for the second pickup on dual deliveries. not pating or paying 1.25. and it only took me looking at 1 days deliveries to spot both. 😤
Olympia WA, Uber Eats cancellation rating negatively effecting drivers for waiting at merchant 15 minutes then cancel for excessive wait time but cancelling order is going against driver
even contacting support doesn't help. I waited 45 minutes at a vendor and when I contact CS and explained, they cancelled it but it still hit my cancel rate.
So many things need to be taken care of when comes to gig work platforms like DD. Transparency has to be one the biggest ones, and they need to be held accountable when comes to any kind of glitches. Many have been and still braking independent contractor laws and dont seem to care about it, like DeliverThat few years ago made it a requirement drivers do dress code. And did not care that no independent contractor can be required to dress any way other than a safety gear. Another thing is something needs be done about the tip systems when comes to people that tip baiting, if the tip was said total wise as a independent contractor we accepted the offer for the amount stated not what the customer wants it to be later and should only be option to add an extra tip not taking away amount.
I wonder if you have heard of this happening. I accepted a 9.50 order going 7 miles. After I confirmed pick up which brought me 2 miles closer, I showed my drop off was 9 miles away. And then this morning I accepted a 7.50 going five miles, after confirming pickup, it showed the drop off was 7 miles away. I cannot believe how much treachery I have seen in the seven months since I started.
DoorDash lowers the base pay the higher the tip is. If a customer lives 10 miles away and does not tip DoorDash may pay $6.00 base pay for that order. But if that same customer had tipped ten dollars then DoorDash would have paid $12.00 for the exact same order. $2.00 base plus the ten dollar tip. It is not stealing tips when they do this. Is it morally wrong? Yes. But it is not legally the stealing of tips.
@ re: base pay I hear where you are coming from- do NOT forget Doordash DOES steal driver tips and in all 4 cases they were accused of it they admitted to it and paid the full amounts without challenge-. ✌🏼
What I dont like is they are using the customers money for their agenda . people that tipped very well is going to have to wait for their order while waiting for the driver to wait on a bundled 2 dollar McDonald order . I dont take bundled orders . People deserve to have the best service and top priority when they are being generous with their hard earned money . I only take orders from appreciative customers because doordash won't pay a decent amount for delivery . I put a bunch of miles on my vehicle and pay for the upkeep and pay for the gas . Why should I make less than minimum wage for all that ? LoL !!!
The hidden tips have always been attempts to manipulate drivers. Their entire system is based off a lot of the same ideas behind gambling. When you complete an order and are given more than you expected, it’s a dopamine hit and your brain (often subconsciously) seeks that out. And in the same vein, some hours you’ll make bank and others will be nothing but crap offers. This is calculated and intended get you to dash more often, the same way the ups and downs of gambling gets players to return far more often than they should. Also, having hidden tips gets you to question whether you should really reject that small order… because *what if* it has a hidden tip. This used to be a much bigger deal when DoorDash would regularly hide large amounts. Now, as you say, it’s mostly less than a dollar. (I do still see some sizable hidden tips) DoorDash has openly spoken about this last point, saying they hide tips to incentivize drivers to give all of their customers priority service, whether they’re wealthy or poor. (Of course that’s just propaganda, bc if DoorDash really cared about that they could just pay their drivers)
@@CourierSix2077 cause most ppl that know at busier times it’s not worth it when you have way bigger orders floating around! Trust me dd knows why they’re doing it.
