    Amrit Yoga utilizes a method called the I AM method. This stands for the Integrative Amrit Method. In Yoga Nidra we have teachings that are passed down from ancient lineage. This is an energetic teaching using the Yogic Sleep or Conscious Sleep to remove Samskaras', restore health and bring true rest back to the body-mind complex.
    Life consists of various states of consciousness.
    1. Waking State (Jagrat): Awareness in the physical dimension via senses. This is also the state of duality where you choose and this creates separation.
    2. The Dream State ( Svapna): Your self-image continues to cooperate but without a subject. The "I" who manages the waking state no longer has control, while the prana body is completely disengaged from the centers that think or choose. Dreams recreate life drama.
    3. The Deep Sleep State (Sushupti): This is were you depart from duality and drop into deep sleep. You are freed from the "I" that controls you during waking hours.
    Sleep Vs. Yoga Nidra: During the daytime, the sympathetic nervous system is actively engaged in your ordinary state of consciousness. In your waking hours, voluntary activities are automatically pulling pranic energies into willful actions. Worse, if you are mentally agitated, emotionally reactive, or physically tense, the energy is on demand for such heightened activities, and is withdrawn from the efficient, involuntary functions of the body.
    Sleep is an unconscious state, Yoga Nidra is a conscious state but your body moves into a sleep state. You are awake but your body is sleeping allowing the true self of self to rise.
    Yoga Nidra creates an internal environment made up of specific sound vibrations, breath work, visualizations and affirmations that allow you to enter the zero stress zone. This creates a brainwave state similar to that of meditation, a practice that is very difficult for most to enter and remains elusive to many. Scientific studies show this brain wave state is conducive to accelerated learning and healing.
