These jello salads are so good and can be modified to sugar free and low calorie. They are light, fluffy, fruity, and oh so good! Jello salads are such a delicious snack or dessert and are good any time of year.
Orange and Pineapple Jello Salad
Ingredients
20 oz. can of crushed pineapple
15 oz. can of mandarin oranges
8 oz. container of whipped topping
3 oz. box of orange jello
1.34 oz. box of instant vanilla pudding
1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
Measure out 1 cup of the juice from the oranges and pineapple and add it to a large mixing bowl. Add the jello and pudding and whisk until mixture becomes thick. Add the pineapple, oranges, and whipped topping mixing until everything is combined. You can also stir in the chopped pecans if you desire. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Lime Jello Salad
Ingredients
20 oz. can of crushed pineapple
8 oz. container of whipped topping
8 oz. package of cream cheese
2 3 oz. boxes of lime jello
2 cups of boiling water
1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
Pour 2 cups of boiling water into the lime jello and whisk until all the jello is dissolved. Add the cream cheese to the dissolved jello, (I cut the cream cheese into chunks). Whisk the cream cheese until it has melted and blended into the jello. There will still be some small bits of cheese but that is ok. Add the pineapple with the juice and mix everything well. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours. Then add the whipped topping and pecans if desired, stirring until completely combined. Place back into refrigerator until ready to serve.

1 1/2 cups of milk

Instructions
Pour 2 cups of boiling water to lemon jello and whisk until dissolved. In a separate bowl mix pudding and milk, whisking until thick. Then combine jello and pudding together whisking until well combined. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours. Add whipped topping and stir until completely combined. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

2 3 oz. boxes of strawberry jello

My mom use to make one called Watergate salad… pistachio pudding. cool whip, crushed pineapple, mandarin oranges and maraschino cherries . She would fix it at holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas.
My mom did too
Not jello
I remember it well. I could have eaten the whole bowl. It's not a Jell-O concoction, but that may be why I liked it best!!
I make that around the holidays
I loved making Ambrosia Salad with fruit cocktail, crushed pineapple, mini-marshmallows, flaked coconut, canned Mandarin oranges, Cool Whip (more stable than whipped cream) and a dollop or two of sour cream (or plain yogurt) to balance the sweetness. Yum!
This is my dish I take to holidays. Yum
Mine too
Sounds great! Thank you
For Thanksgiving use instead of pineapples in the lime Jello use sliced pears. We call it pear salad. It tastes great, very mellow and sweet, and not a taste people seem to have too often.
Chef Kristie, there is a pistachio salad that is a family favorite. It's pistachio pudding mix, and crushed pineapple, with mini marshmellows, pecans and cut Maraschino Cherries and whipped topping. It's delicious too! Every Easter it was on our table, you can add a cup of coconut too 😀 Now is the perfect time for these salads, thanks again! ♡sBm
We call it Watergate salad
We make a variation of this as well. We call it pistachio fluff(:
We call it Watergate Salad
**😂😂
LOL... We don't put cherries in it, & call it "Bait," bc it looks like fishing Bait, but it tastes so heavenly you're just Baited to eat it!!
My aunt has a recipe for apricot jello. TO DIE FOR!!!!! Getting extremely difficult to get apricot jello these days. Thank goodness for Amazon. My mom has been making this for every family function and literally can’t show up without it.
Will you please share what was in it?
We always made jello or pudding. Remember whip and chill?
They are great in a pie crust too!
I was just thinking the lemon one would be awesome in a pie crust!!
Another one my Mom made for potlucks is : lg box of strawberry/banana jello use pack directions for hot water. Use only half cold water amount, add in well drained crushed pineapple, 1 container crushed frozen strawberries and 1 mashed ripe banana. Pour half mixture into 9×9 dish. Place that container into refrigerator to set.About 30 minutes. Use a medium size sour cream to layer 1/2 inch thick then add rest of jello mixture on top and return to refrigerator to set.
I grew up on jello salads like these in the 60's, my mum made one she called "Hawaiian Fluff", she made her own whipped cream with pineapple juice and pieces, oranges, coconut and maraschino cherries chopped finely;I loved it. Now I am going to have to make one as it is very hot here, thanks for the inspiration.
Is there any substitute for the milk?
@@patw7174 I don't know, I don't eat dairy very often myself but I do indulge once in a while. Isn't there non-dairy whipped topping you could use as a substitute? I'm old fashioned, lol, I still prefer making my own with heavy whipping cream, good luck to you! 🤗🍨
Hi, I'd much appreciate the recipe.
@@Mark-iv7np As soon as can find it I will post it to you , it's in a binder with most of her recipes that my father put together after she died. He didn't bother putting the recipes into categories so it's always a treasure hunt when I look for something, one of these decades I will get around to organising it.
My mother used to make all these different Jell-O salads when I was growing up. They were always so satisfying in the summer. And she could make a dessert go along way with eight people. Thank you for showing the salads
This morning, made a 1/2 batch of the last one. Used sugar free black Cherry jello and thawed frozen cherries. Wish I could find sugar free cool whip! OMG… this is heaven on these HOT days. Thanks for helping me rediscover the love of Jello.
I’m definitely going to try this with the cherries!! Yum!!
You could whip your own cream and sweeten it with Splenda or erythritol.
The lemon is beautiful
My mother always made a green jellied salad and a red jellied salad (clamato and lemon jello) for Christmas dinner. I love them but my kids wouldn't even try them!
I'm going to give you her recipe for the green one. We called it Toby's Green Salad after the woman who gave her the recipe.
Dissolve 4 ounces of lime jello in ½ cup of boiling water.
Add:
1 cucumber 🥒 (grated)
1 onion (grated)
15 oz. cottage cheese
1 tablespoon of Miracle Whip (you could probably sub with mayonnaise)
Mix these together and add them to the dissolved Jell-O. Pour it into a greased mold. Let it set overnight.
It's delicious! Trust me.🤗
I love these light salads any time of the year. Peach is also good.
My Mom was the Queen of Jello salad. These bring back memories. Thank you.
Love those sweet memories! Thanks for watching!
My mom always snuck in veggies!
Thank you. Moms recipes disappeared. Love it .
Wonderful 👏 just found jello recipes on utube. Yummy, must get mixing 😋 😋
My mom made a 2 similar recipe for my sister's wedding dinner, one strawberry and 1 lemon. She added little pieces of angel food cake before refrigerating. It was 62 years ago and I can still remember how delicious it was.

Cool and refreshing❣️
Special occasions mom made "green stuff". Coolwhip with pistachio pudding, crushed pineapple and mini marshmallows
..extra nuts optional. Yum
I’ve heard it called green stuff too! 😊
This was called Watergate Salad back in the 70’s…I guess because it was popular around the time of the Watergate scandal. My mom still makes it and we love it!
My Grandmother always made her version of "green stuff" every Christmas! It just wasn't Christmas without it.
After she passed, my Aunt made her first attempt to keep the tradition alive. However, she was in a rush and only had one box of lime jello, so she combined it with a box of cherry she did have. After all she thought, red and green govtogether at Christmas. Right? Weeelll... Turns out when you mix red and green jello in the recipe it turns a sort of grayish color. So that first Christmas after Grandma's passing we had "GRAY Stuff"! It looked kinda like brain tissue. Not very festive. Made us miss Grandma but we also had a good laugh to balance our grief.
@@Caledoniarose 😂Great story and great memories!
Yes, I love this one! A few years ago I decided to pullout some old jello recipes and I made the “green stuff”! 😂 Also, a mandarin orange, tapioca pudding recipe with dream whip (can’t remember all the ingredients), but this definitely my favorite!
