I never put oil in the water when boiling pasta. The pasta will get coated with oil, and it will then not be able to absorb the sauce. I am Italian and learned that when I was a child. Your recipies are wonderful.

I've been making this for my kids for well over 20+ years. I actually thought I made it up. One day, I decided to try something new. They love it, so I've been making it ever since. I just call it something different. Wow! It's amazing that someone else knows this recipe. I place cheese all throughout and with each layer. It's so delicious.

My 3 yr old granddaughter made me watch this as she was going to sleep. I had to back up and pause as I wrote down every single step! Took me longer to watch lol. I have put oil in the water and not put it in. I don't see the difference. Lots of salt in the water! I watched this 5 days ago and I made it tonight and we love it. All those recipes are really nice.But my advice is that we add the salt in boiled water for cooking not as it's still cold because it's boiling faster and the pot always closed.But it's not need to cut all the vegetables one by one and cooking it.Sorry,it's very specific how we must cut it and cooking it in the pan.Everybody can understand that!Thank you any away,in my country Greece we use to cook this kind of dishes because of the fresh vegetables we have and the best of all the olive oil that we use for cooking avoiding butter and other vegetable oils.My love from Corfou island Greece!🇬🇷❤️👏👏

Both recipes look tasty! Here are two things I just learned about rice: 1) Cook rice like pasta in salted water. It takes about 5 minutes. Remove when almost soft. Drain and rinse with hot water. Fluffier! 2) The content of carbohydrates in rice (and potatoes) becomes lower when refrigerated for 12 hours and its nutritional content changes so that it’s good for the gut bacteria.

Never add oil to pasta water, it’s not necessary and in dishes with sauce, can make the sauce roll right off of the pasta. To keep pasta from sticking, watch and stir. It’s that simple. An Italian woman taught me that. Other than that, looks delicious.

Ive done a similar version of this, its just as good but I didn't add the yummy onions, garlic, and bell peppers. I added mushrooms sauteed, and made my own pasta sauce, poured over meat, mushrooms and noodles, mixed in grated mozzarella, and placed provolone cheese slices over it, placed it in the oven at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes. PERFECTION! Just what one needs on a crisp fall day.😊

If you try to put oil in the pasta water in Italy, you are libel to loose an arm ! It's not a matter of making someone happy. It's a basic rule of cooking pasta.
I feel that recipes can be adjusted to ones liking or whatever, we don't have to knock anyone down, you don't want to add oil, yes I've heard it both ways, do it and don't do it. Just don't if you were raised that way, just adjust with being so critical. Cooking is meant to be adjusted to ones preferences after trying it exactly as the recipe calls for, then the next time you can adjust it, too much salt, then use less and so on and so forth. The one thing I learned. I NEED a kitchen scale LOL. And that blender thingy, that looks cool.

Both of these look amazing. From the USA and need to covert some of ingredients, I am a wing it cook, and for sure will be making both of these. The Rice looks tricky, but I am certain I can manage. Unless I missed something, I can get all of these veges in my local Walmart. No need to convert any of these ingredients. Also, the rice looks like it was overcooked to get the texture.
My mother in law taught me how to make perfect rice every time. 1 cup rice in pan, heat over fire then add 2 cups water. Stir and bring to boil. Cover, Place on super low flame for 20 minutes and that is it. If rice is watery just give it a little more time.
@@PatMcGuriman I forgot, use some oil or butter with the dry rice in the beginning. You can also add some thin spaghetti (broken up in 1 inch pieces to the rice at first.This is how one makes rice pilaf.
I used to put oil in the water with my pasta. Then I didn’t understand why I did it, lol. Now, to prevent sticky noodles, we melt 1-2 tablespoons of butter in it after it has been drained. I’m not Italian, but the butter keeps the noodles from sticking and adds a nice flavor

My 3 yr old granddaughter made me watch this as she was going to sleep. I had to back up and pause as I wrote down every single step! Took me longer to watch lol. I have put oil in the water and not put it in. I don't see the difference. Lots of salt in the water! I watched this 5 days ago and I made it tonight and we love it. All those recipes are really nice.But my advice is that we add the salt in boiled water for cooking not as it's still cold because it's boiling faster and the pot always closed.But it's not need to cut all the vegetables one by one and cooking it.Sorry,it's very specific how we must cut it and cooking it in the pan.Everybody can understand that!Thank you any away,in my country Greece we use to cook this kind of dishes because of the fresh vegetables we have and the best of all the olive oil that we use for cooking avoiding butter and other vegetable oils.My love from Corfou island Greece!🇬🇷❤️👏👏

Both recipes look tasty!
Here are two things I just learned about rice: 1) Cook rice like pasta in salted water. It takes about 5 minutes. Remove when almost soft. Drain and rinse with hot water. Fluffier! 2) The content of carbohydrates in rice (and potatoes) becomes lower when refrigerated for 12 hours and its nutritional content changes so that it’s good for the gut bacteria.

Never add oil to pasta water, it’s not necessary and in dishes with sauce, can make the sauce roll right off of the pasta. To keep pasta from sticking, watch and stir. It’s that simple. An Italian woman taught me that. Other than that, looks delicious.

Ive done a similar version of this, its just as good but I didn't add the yummy onions, garlic, and bell peppers. I added mushrooms sauteed, and made my own pasta sauce, poured over meat, mushrooms and noodles, mixed in grated mozzarella, and placed provolone cheese slices over it, placed it in the oven at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes. PERFECTION! Just what one needs on a crisp fall day.😊

I feel that recipes can be adjusted to ones liking or whatever, we don't have to knock anyone down, you don't want to add oil, yes I've heard it both ways, do it and don't do it. Just don't if you were raised that way, just adjust with being so critical. Cooking is meant to be adjusted to ones preferences after trying it exactly as the recipe calls for, then the next time you can adjust it, too much salt, then use less and so on and so forth. The one thing I learned. I NEED a kitchen scale LOL. And that blender thingy, that looks cool.

Both of these look amazing. From the USA and need to covert some of ingredients, I am a wing it cook, and for sure will be making both of these. The Rice looks tricky, but I am certain I can manage. Don't speed it up, I love the real time so I know how long it should take. God Bless you and Thank you. The Music was so soothing and relaxed me after a day of gardening.
Unless I missed something, I can get all of these veges in my local Walmart. No need to convert any of these ingredients. Also, the rice looks like it was overcooked to get the texture.

My mother in law taught me how to make perfect rice every time. 1 cup rice in pan, heat over fire then add 2 cups water. Stir and bring to boil. Cover, Place on super low flame for 20 minutes and that is it. If rice is watery just give it a little more time.

@@PatMcGuriman I forgot, use some oil or butter with the dry rice in the beginning. You can also add some thin spaghetti (broken up in 1 inch pieces to the rice at first.This is how one makes rice pilaf.

I used to put oil in the water with my pasta. Then I didn’t understand why I did it, lol. Now, to prevent sticky noodles, we melt 1-2 tablespoons of butter in it after it has been drained. I’m not Italian, but the butter keeps the noodles from sticking and adds a nice flavor

Στην Ελλάδα βάζουμε λάδι στο νερό!! όχι τόσο πολύ..1 κουταλιά της σούπας.. μόλις βράσουν ρίχνουμε 1 ποτήρι κρυο νερό. Αφού τα σουρώσουμε άλλοι ζεσταίνουν λίγο λάδι στη κατσαρόλα τα ρίχνουν μέσα κουνώντας την κατσαρόλα όχι ανακατεύοντας κι άλλοι βούτυρο φυτικό

I saw an episode of the Sopranos where they put a big chunk of butter to make the sauce stick to it. I tried it and have been doing it ever since.

I am so tired for seeing people complain about the speed. There are people that watch these that done know how to do these things and since there are no written instructions it's helpful to know the steps.
Arbeitsschritte könnte man bestimmt im Video verkürzen, denn es dauert alles viel zu lange. Aber trotzdem sind es gute Anregungen, welche Lust und Appetit machen, zum ausprobieren.
