Got the RV 454 running on my cheap engine cradle. Seems to be in good shape. Almost don't want to take it apart. But it will be better after the build.
Sounds good Sam now u know what you got ! Got a couple mouse motors(70 LT1&aluminum bow tie head 350)for the run stand.Got a 400 on engine stand now .30 over new flat tops.
@@thereluctantgearhead4544 How would you fix that pump if you couldn't buy a rebuild kit? That would be a great video series, how to build an engine with no infrastructure.😎👍
Stuff it in the early 3rd gen. Get that thing right twisted. That old 454 sounds pretty snappy as it is. I'm sure it will be nuts when you're done with it. Nice little test set up.
The Camaro has a fresh built SBC that makes around 550hp or so. It's pretty rowdy. Brand new expensive ass headers too. But I'm also building a 496 bigblock Chevy with a tunnelram that'll probably go in the Camaro in a year or so. It's gonna make around 800hp NA. Gonna drop this 454 into a gutted 79 Cutlass that don't weigh shit. Manual T-400 & 5000 BTE convertor and 4-57 gear on a 35 spline spool in a QP 9 in Ford going behind it. It's pretty much a drag only car. Been sitting over 20yrs.
@@thereluctantgearhead4544 Sweet, I've had a 91' Z28 since 93' so I'm gonna have to go thru your videos to check it out. One thing for sure is NOBODY will be able to say that Cutlass is gutless.
Yep, 236 castings. But they are going on a shelf. Low mile units, probably sell them. Too small for my plans. It's a 1981 Motorhome 454 straight out of the RV. Been sitting for decades. I'm just gonna use the bare block.
@@thereluctantgearhead4544 If I have the money and time I would build 427 truck block 4.375 stroke and peanut ports to go in k30 crew cab tow rig and max rpm will not go above 5k. 4l85e np205 14b d60. My dream truck. Anyway your biggest from KSA
@@Saan455Be good for a tow rig for sure. Those tall deck 427s were stout. I'm building one with long rods and lightweight forged pistons and a huge solid roller cam. It's gonna be a drag race engine tho. Came out of a GMC 7000 dump truck. Block is extra thick.

😂😂 neighbors love it
Strange my fuckin comment vanished. Imagine that.
And now the fun begins! Can't wait to see the build! 👍

@@thereluctantgearhead4544 Good...we like rowdy!
@@my357mags yep, might as well utilize its real potential. I have the shit to make it a monster.
@@thereluctantgearhead4544 For sure!
Wow, runs good
Thanks for posting, i would sure like to meet you sometime!
Gotta figure out how to make those old dried up pumps work again just in case the world goes to a Mad Max era.😯😎👍
Definitely gonna buy a diaphragm kit for the Mallory pump. It's worth fixin.
The other electric pump was just one of those little Mr Gasket helper pumps. Not worth much. Probably made in 1980.

Hell Yeah👌🤣
I think E 85 mechanical fuel injection maybe Crower stack turn out the beast
That would be cool. Gold anodized stacks are the shit.
Seen a setup a while back for $2500. Had everything to go with it.
What cylinder heads are you gonna run? Thanks
Either BPE 317cc or Assault 335cc. Both rectangle port. Going to use a DART singleplane or a Super Victor and a BG 1050 Dominator.
Cam is actually 272/280@.050, 731/731 lift, 110 lobe separation solid roller. Lunati grind. Crane roller lifters.
13.2-1 Compression.
I already have all the parts. Just gotta make it happen now.
Summoning satan 😈✊🏽
