It's like these people have been playing together forever. I think Guthrie pulled out a few extras in response. Even now the Aristocrats have to be very careful when starting Waves but here there was no problem.
The thing too is that M. govan can improvise this kind of stuff on the fly. (Of course he’s playing these songs very similar to the recording cause that’s what people want to hear) but look at his improve on tracks from JTC
Thanks so much. You rock I will check that out. Don't get me wrong, the Guth has mad skills, not that biggest fan of his tone though. He also has some Great instructional vids
Well, in my time all we had was books and scratchy albums, yet I got good. Now days, you got videos, CD instructions along with books. Dude? You can pull up anything you want online. When I was growing up, we didn't have that advantage. The ONLY way you learned was trail and error and going to rock shows watching others. I started out on rock and later on Jazz, but rock is so much cooler. That is, progressive rock. I think that's what Guthrie is. Progressive, well, very very progressive & luv it
@89ErwinR I can help you to play if your interested and I will not charge you anything, I'll do it for free! Just shoot me a message if your interested. I love helping others to learn music.
Armando Leibeck but it'd also be so much fun.. !!! I thought the same thing as Hamish, but dig this the love was strong with that bass one it came thru to me.
Hamish MacSporran I think that people that are like him, got used to be so focused on analytical things. so, another kind of abilities are not that high-performed. In a nutshell, he has no fault when someone asks him to greet or wave and he can't do it.
I can't help but feel happy when I hear this song.
man that second solo of waves is 10/10
Simply brilliant

Unmistakably Guthrie. Love the tone, love the skills and love the background players. Well done all.

3:32 that was the most late reaction I heard from a Guthrie performance lol 😂❤️
Ive watched a shit ton of Guthrie dropping jaws but man whaaaaaat daaaaaafuq was that at 2:30
FR

Govan have a strong fingers. Amazing!
7:04 Garota de Ipanema, made in Brazil!!!!
At 07:07 he plays Girl From Ipanema!
7:07 Garota do Ipanema
Coming from a metal/progressive background is it true that jazz fusion (this) is the hardest style to play?
Yaa man... to learn a song by ear even some slow jazz fusion licks are harder for me than metal licks
Not a massive skill gap between prog and jazz fusion, but be prepared to do some intense lateral thinking at high speed.
it's highly dependent on the artist, and anyways who cares?

Thanks so much. You rock I will check that out. Don't get me wrong, the Guth has mad skills, not that biggest fan of his tone though. He also has some Great instructional vids
1:42 - 1:46 ...WHAT?
ive never seen guthrie play waves the same way..does he come up with his "shred" instantly?
He does but he knows the chord progression so well it comes out smoothly, and it really helps he is really spontaneus and fresh naturally
amazing. what's the name of the second track?
realpikoz I might be a little late, but... Waves
I PUT THE GUITAR DOWN. AWESOME .

Thanks God!!! He's a human!!!! |o|

Gunthrie headbangs once and throws his hair in front of his face ---> Shit just got serious
0:26
Hahah witamy w Polsce ;
El baterista toca los temas mas rápido que las versiones originales 77
Shane Botwin on bass
Waves
7:00 you missed a note
2:31 wtf is that :)
whammy pedal
pitch shifter maybe
yes, that's what whammy pedals do ahah
what he did was he pulled the high E or B string out of the neck edge
Dude waves was even faster as it is usually wtf
just listen to the album version instead then if you dont like it
That's all?
@89ErwinR I can help you to play if your interested and I will not charge you anything, I'll do it for free! Just shoot me a message if your interested. I love helping others to learn music.
waves is too fast
Desto Roso There's times where he's messed around and demo'd it at double speed or more, the coordination is crazy.
reduce the speed to .75 and watch it. thank me later
Tell the bass player to cheer up ffs
Armando Leibeck and the guy has an amazing technique
Armando Leibeck but it'd also be so much fun.. !!! I thought the same thing as Hamish, but dig this the love was strong with that bass one it came thru to me.
Armando Leibeck
i agree dude this stuff is fucking complicated!! he was probably trying his best not to fuck up
Hamish MacSporran I think that people that are like him, got used to be so focused on analytical things. so, another kind of abilities are not that high-performed. In a nutshell, he has no fault when someone asks him to greet or wave and he can't do it.
He's focusing...not mad. I would be shitting my pants playing with Guthrie...
Guthrie is hampered by his own technical mastery and encyclopedic knowledge.
Slack Man Congrats! You win the dumbest comment on UA-cam award!
oh dear what a joyless bassist haha
The guy's 15, he's probably shitting himself about being a foot away from the best guitarist alive. Either that or he just doesn't give a toss
the tempo is too fast
Amazing technique, but that's all it is. The kid bass player get's my vote for nailing it.
lucky punks
His playing is very disappointing live. Terrible tone.
Amazing!
