Larry DiMarzio trademarked double Creme. Fortunately he didn’t trademark bone or aged white so makers are starting to produce double whites...which are closer to the accurate colour anyway.
I keep seeing the color described as "parchment" from other manufacturers. Kudos to Larry for realizing that double creme and their marketed appeal were worth protecting. I've never been a DiMarzio fan but once considered ordering double creme humbuckers from Seymour Duncan back in the day.
The only thing that weighs more than an SVT is an Ampeg V9. It's the 300w all tube guitar version of the SVT, with a spring reverb inside. They actually came with a 9x10 cab. I used one in a local studio tracking an album that never saw the light of day, even as an Ampeg nerd I was shocked. I swear it weighed more than I do.
I'm surprised it didn't kill him! Heaviest piece of gear I own! Only other gear I've ever moved that was heavier was 70's Rhodes for my bassist at the time!
6:48 I couldn't agree more with John, we are indeed living in a golden age for guitar, despite the endless whiny comments by uneducated boomers on every single music-related video
It’s a strange time, it really is great time to be playing the guitar yet you don’t here a ton of guitar on the radio unless you’re listening to classic rock
Rick Beato blew my mind by bringing out the Danelectro. I'm 68 and the very first electric I ever played (at age 8) was my uncle's brown (no lie) Danelectro he bought at Sears (again, no lie) with a single lipstick tube pick-up and a neck identical to the one Rick's has in this video. I spent years trying to find a guitar I liked as much, for playability and tone, as that little ol' Danelectro. Dani's are one of the most under-rated and perhaps under-appreciated (except by those who know) guitars in the world.

danmar007 so what do you call a squire telecaster then ? ;)
Fun to see my favorite giants of UA-cam guitar together.
Two of my favorite UA-cam channels in ONE video!!!! HOT DAMN 🔥🤘
That's the SVT that fell off its cab and Jason Newsted went to catch it and it *literally* pulled his arm out of its socket. That's how heavy it is.
The bass player in my band would disappear whenever it was time to load his SVT.
Having a mesa lonestar 2x12 i share the same pain
@@tomcoryell That's so annoying, but I'd rather carry my gear and an SVT if it's the deciding factor🤣
I'm surprised it didn't kill him! Heaviest piece of gear I own! Only other gear I've ever moved that was heavier was 70's Rhodes for my bassist at the time!
Two of the best Internet personalities/talented dudez out there.
6:48 I couldn't agree more with John, we are indeed living in a golden age for guitar, despite the endless whiny comments by uneducated boomers on every single music-related video
Boomers like Rick Beato
Yeah..especially those "Whose listening in (enter year here) comments"
It’s a strange time, it really is great time to be playing the guitar yet you don’t here a ton of guitar on the radio unless you’re listening to classic rock
@EJT0002 OK boomer
More gear but most guitarists have that ibanezy tone
Big fan of Bohlinger and Beato. Nice surprise to see this rig rundown. 👍🏽
Great guest!
