Is there any reason why you couldn't use this tool on larger diameter steel rods (i.e. 30mm or 32mm)? I want to knurl some handles for some homemade gym equipment and I'd rather not pay through the nose for someone else to do it for me. Great video! Really well made tool and the great video editing helps make this sort of thing even more watchable.
hello sir how are you? I also have a pack of tools like that.. my tool is not supported by a loose head flashlight. And the one I knurling is a small diameter, sir.. I used a nail, sir, as a test, sir... thank you sir

Just make the distance between the pivot points of the 2 arms larger too so they don't get too much angle and lose clamping leverage
You could make the base plate with multiple pivot holes, to accomodate a wide range of diameters.

can you knurl 24k gold and make a ring?
and then case-harden it to make a round file, then test it to failure
