For everyone that gives a person kudos there’s 20 that think they know better. Great job putting it all together. Amazing how efficiently you put it together. 99% of people could never finish a project like that. Keep up the good work.

So, how many hours before the abrasive stones wear through the thin case of the machine. A better idea is to line the inside with flat rubber so as to reduce the friction on the thin walls. I've seen this used with good results. Thanks for sharing your idea! Cheers.

Nice work with the manufacture of your new deburr and derust tool,, what as the running time of when you put the material in the main drum. I really enjoyed watching your methods of working, have a good day. Phil

Put some water w/ little dosh soap in there. It will help keep your stones from loading up and work faster.

6 hours using electricity, VS 10min with an angelgrider with a flapdisc?😳

Clearly you do not understand that some people really enjoy making things for the sake of making them. Imagine how nice the parts would look if they were left in the vibrator overnight. No sweat or dust involved. Also leaves an amazing texture to the metal.

I like quality of your work. But wouldnt it get more efficient if it had up and down movement too? Bcos you installed the vibrator weight moving vertically and the bolts inside the springs are locked the springs to move only sideways and you would get less harmfull vibrations transfered to the whole frame? Or the springs are compressed enough bcos of the weight of everything in the drum so it can move up and down that much?

The springs are more bolted on one side only, on the opposite side they are almost free. It would be even better if the springs were softer, the effect would be better.

A vibratory tumbler via a vertical shaft motor with a toroidal shaped bowl; lined with a layer of polyurethane is the best/most efficient way to go.

Hmmm. A full workshop and six hours electricity. I won’t knock the concept but I will stick to 24 hours in white vinegar and buff off with wire brush as more suitable to my personal economy. Good concept though!

How come you don’t use your plasma cutter to cut your plates? It would be easier than using cut off wheel.

    • @Newterafox

After the plasma cutter there are very uneven edges that need to be processed.

This process gives an isotropic finnish.

You can achieve the same result using a glass bead blast cabinet , it's cheaper , it's quieter , it's FASTER , just need an air compressor , and it wont wear out by the end of the week.

Is this more effective than a rotary tumbler?

    • @Newterafox
      @Newterafox  2 місяці тому +1

Two options are effective, provided that the stones are specifically designed for this.

Nice idea but a waste of time if your serious about vibratory tumbling. Your tub needs to be made with a rubber liner or a polyethylene type material. Your sheet metal will be destroyed in a few days. The concept itself works but still. Also they make smaller tumbling media with different shapes. A small triangular media will do the job in less than half the time. Smaller stones would work 100% better. There is a media compound powder to use and there should be a small amount of water in there as well. Lastly…..Safety man. Never cut towards you with a knife 😬, always away.
