- I was searching for a very long time after a hand knurling tool but I just found those for lathes… So I decided to build my own one. It works just awesome!! Have fun and get inspired!

That's a great idea and might be good to have an adapted version for a lathe as it would minimise back pressure.

That was brilliant! Thanks for sharing. If you ever attempted this again, you should make the c shaped part from a flat bar so you could clamp the tool to the vise.
I see you are using a Femi ng160 bandsaw, now that you seem to have used it for a while, what are your thoughts? Thinking about getting the ABS ng160.

Awesome idea, what about taking it further, have a similar style tool where a set of wheels clamp to round stock then you screw down a cutting tool and as you turn it around it shaves off some metal. Keep going until you have the round stock down to the size you want. One end of the stock would need to be in a vice obviously.

@@Nicosachero esos rodillos se llaman moletas o ruedas moleteadoras se venden en ferreterias industriales o casas que vendan herramientas de tornero. Las hay de distintas formas unas hacen tipo estrias y otras rombos como esas. Generalmente se emplean en mangos antideslizantes . Espero te sirva de algo ,yo soy de Uruguay . Saludos y a las órdenes.

Great video, I learned a lot. I very rarely think this, but this video could have used some background music. The sound of shop tools sped up is very grating, like listening to fingernails on chalkboards. I didn't want to take my eyes off what you were doing to turn the volume way down, now I will have to watch the video again :) Thanks again for informative vid.

Oh my that was awesome, Can you offer any input to knurling Stainless Steel. I bought a hand knurling tool similar to the one you made but the knurling cutter seem to load up with metal and clog. Is stainless too hard or do IU need better knurling cutters, I just need a straight knurl to lock a gear onto a shaft????? Dennis
