The meaning I get behind the name Slipknot: The more you listen, the more you lean on them, the more you let them wrap around your life, the tighter they become, the more you see them and they begin to have bigger and bigger influences on your lives. Just like a slipknot (The knot used to make a noose), the longer you're in it, the tighter it gets.
Atleast they have a reason to wear masks and are pretty 'normal' offstage, I hate the bands who actually think they are making music for Satan and that they are demons or vampires or some stupid shit like that.
When Coreys talking about joining in 97 Jim looks like a really pissed off teenager that's just been told to go to his room. Or that "it's just a phase"

That’s because there a unit, and they just give a number and a different mask. That’s why you think of each of them individually instead of only one member as the whole band.
