    Regarding stamped decks, my old craftsman rider starting being eaten through on the left side leading edge, so I took an old dull blade and hammered it flat to take out the twist, then beat a curve into one end of it to match the deck where the most damage was and welded it onto the deck. The deck outlasted the rest of the mower. It was about 20 years old when I finally let it go.

    Ritchie is really cranking out the content, excellent work! 👍🏼 Bought a 61” Bobcat CRZ with a Kawasaki about 4 years ago, actually mows 2 acres quicker than my tractor with a 5’ finish mower. Much better cut too.

      Got to get our selves out there! I’m actually a fan of bobcat mowers. We had a predator pro 72 before the fire it was a tank! I really put it through abuse and would move my 4500 lb baler with 1000lb tongue weight with it. Only thing that was able to kill it was a fire unfortunately. We decided to get the l series for its replacement as we really don’t have a whole lot of finish mowing and another tractor would benefit the farm much better. Thanks for watching !!

    I like that parking brake feature for sure. My zero turn definitely does not have that feature. That wet, thick field was giving it a workout but once you get it cut that thing will make that area so much faster to cut if you choose to do so.

    I’ve seen a lot of those around here recently! Seems to be good mowers. Dad has the Cub Cadet zero turn where the front and rear wheels both steer which helps with better control on hills. Good review!

    Like your reasoning, I did the same, bought a separate tractor to mow the lawn, I didn’t want the hassle of removing/installing the MMM. That was thick stuff at the end 😳, it handled it pretty good 👍🏻. Have a great one Richie 👍🏻🙋🏼‍♂️

    Lift the discharge chute up and tie with a bungee strap to prevent clumping. The chute doubles as a shield in the up position. Plus your not as wide.

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  3 роки тому

      On this mower I’ve found the chute makes no difference. I typically just remove them. left it on as per manufacturers recommendation for video purposes. Thanks for watching.

    My John Deere 335 GX has a Kawasaki engine. I have owned several Kawasakis in my life and I feel that their engines are bomb proof. My Deere has over 500 hours on it and uses no oil at all. They are cold blooded though.

    Years ago had a stamped steel cub zero turn and the welder was called end of season one. Fell apart year 3 @ 100 hrs. Hope this one is better. I grabbed a used Exmark laser x series s, very happy with it. How is cut quality versus exmark?

    • @HillsideAcres
      @HillsideAcres  3 роки тому

      I agree with a used commercial grade machine being a good option! We just went with this because its really only doing the grass mowing in the small yard around the house. The cut quality has exceeded my expectations for sure. I would put it in line with an exmark on quality but only due to the cub cadet having a slower travel speed. The exmark will also have a deeper deck resulting in higher capacity. The sharpness of the blades will effect cut quality the most. I used to sharpen every 8 hours of use!

    Do your handles line up? Just curious. I’ve adjusted mine every way possible and one is still about 3/4 of an inch high and forward. Wondering if it’s common across that mower or if I may have a bent arm from the factory.
