Andy Gibb was so good that even hard rocking, disco haters secretly would sing his tunes ( alone in the car, the shower, the elevator). Don’t lie. You know who you are.
Barry wrote a lot of Andy's songs. Andy's biggest hits in the later 70's were "I Just Want To Be Your Everything", "(Love Is) Thicker Than Water", "Shadow Dancing", "An Everlasting Love", "(Our Love) Don't Throw It All Away". Sadly he passed away at only 30 years of age. Now only Barry is left. But at least we have a great legacy of their music.
A quote from Andy about Barry’s writing "So, once we discussed it all and got the deal together, me and Barry locked ourselves in a bedroom and Barry just started writing. When Barry writes, it is very hard to collaborate with him, because he is so quick. And before I knew it he was starting to do the chorus of ['I Just Want to Be Your Everything'], and I thought, 'Wow what a hook!'. He's an expert at his craft. Within about 20 minutes, he'd written a number one record; and then we went right into another one”
Barry has said that just like Maurice and Robin were (actual) twins, him and Andy were the same because they were so similar. “I Started A Joke” or “Massachusetts” by The Bee Gees to hear Robin’s achingly beautiful voice 🙏🏼
@@reddirtrelichunter6001 one of the most heartbreaking videos I’ve ever seen is Barry singing I started a joke after Mo and Robin passed. A video of Robin is behind him, and he sings the end of the song. When he sings”I finally died”, and Barry’s face falls, it makes me cry.
Andy was such a HEARTHROB! Not only was he The BEE GEES little brother, but he also co-hosted a musical variety show in the 80s called "SOLID GOLD". His co-hosts were DIONNE WARWICK and after, MARILYN McCOO of the FIFTH DIMINSION.

A sweet voice. Much loved by his fans and his brothers. The Bee Gees always did a tribute to their younger brother. I think the tune was written by the Gibbs. The Wilson brothers from the Beach Boys are another example of how sibling voices can be so similar and blend like no others can. Thank you for the reaction.

Saw Andy in concert in 1977 when he opened for Neil Sedaka in Fargo ND down at the civic center, it was the day Elvis died, this song was #1 at the time on the charts.
His first three singles, including this one, SHADOW DANCING, and LOVE IS THICKER THAN WATER, all went to number one around 1978. That should give you an idea how hot the Gibb brothers were in the late 70s. And yes Amber he was indeed a huge hearthrob, on cover after after cover of the teen fan magazines. He was about 20 when this album came out. I would strongly suggest checking out YOU SHOULD BE DANCING, by and sung by the BeeGees with Andy . IT is pure fun disco and will get you up off your feet. In the video they have their signature tight white pants.
There was a video of him singing "Love is thicker than water" where there was a whole line of teen girls that would walk up to kiss 💋 him. If their legs held out and they didn't faint first.
Andy Giibb never had a number one anywhere that I know of. I just want to be your everything got to 8 in 1977 on Billboard but only 26 uk. Everlasting love made 10 in UK 1978 and eight on Billboard. Shadow dancing made 42 uk in 78. And 8 on Billboard. (Our love ) don’t throw it all away made 2 on Billboard and 32 uk in 79. If you don’t believe me check the uk official charts and Billboard

Because the Midnight Special was must see TV, I remember watching this performance with my best friend in her family room. We called him Little Andy - with love and affection, because he was the little brother of our fan girl crushes. He definitely had chops, and Barry to help him. Barry wrote this song, and he, with his team, produced the studio release. Oh, and truly there is nothing like a Gibb falsetto.
This song is sweet and smooth because it was written by Barry 😉…that man can sure write (all The Bee Gees could). If you haven’t seen their HBO Max doc already please do, your love and appreciation for them would sky rocket.

She was a huge BeeGees fan from back in the 60s so she was so happy to see Andy coming into his own in the 70s. He was totally a heart throb. His picture was everywhere. I think if my mom was a teen he would have been on her wall. My sister had Shaun Cassidy.
Their father Hugh played drums and led a band that performed for the British troops and Allies during the war and mom Barbara was a singer. When they started singing as kids in various clubs Hugh played drums for them

I'm lucky enough to have this on Andy's "Shadow Dancing" album. and yes I still play my albums, a collection of over 200, every Saturday, the best part about playing albums is choosing the next one! Great reaction! This album sits right next to Leif Garrett's "I Was Made For Dancing" on one side and Hall & Oates "Private eyes" on the other keeping it safe! Thank you for letting me sit in with you once again!
There are no words to describe the amazing talent of all the brothers but what I admire the most is the love they had for each other. Barry's love for his little brother reminds me of my big brother. I cry when I think of his broken heart when Andy passed....
Ok, Jay. Time to hear your bor Barry tear it up in his other singing voice. Give a listen to NIGHTS ON BROADWAY. It is his register as a rock singer. The group is hot and the music is magic. And then, you can return to the Barry lead vocal you are so fond of when the group pleads, FANNY BE TENDER (WITH MY LOVE). Also, try listening to the Four Seasons and their mega hit, SHERRY. Frankie Valli made a great career on his falsetto before Barry Gibb. (No knock). Just giving you more of what you want. Enjoy.
I am so glad you did this song. I thought it was “I Just Want to be Your Hairy Thing” for a long time, and for a long time, he and Barry and Robin brought the hair…. :) Honestly, I never paid a lot of attention to the BeeGees (and brother Andy) other than to admire their hair and enjoy their (at the time) generic ‘background of the 70s’ songs… Then you and Jaybriel Akoi started reacting to them and I had to dig into the wells of greatness that are the Gibb Brothers :) Thank you so much for expanding my musical experience, Jay and Amber :)
I remember listening to this song on the radio a lot when I was growing up. I also remember him being in several of the teen magazines like Tiger Beat and Teen Beat.
He also has a few duets with Olivia Newton John. I believe she would be my all-time favorite female singer if I had to choose just one. From her earliest on..each one is amazing! She just doesn't have any music that's not just beautiful.
Yes I agree 100%. You should react to this special with Andy Gibb, ABBA and Olivia Newton John. The whole thing is great and it shows what friends they all were. Also there is a beautiful duet with Olivia Newton John and Andy Gibb. Rest your love on me I know you would love. Be great if you could react to that one too 💗
Had his poster on the wall (along with Travolta) ! Andy was amazing and it is great that it is live - you can tell he is reaching for the falsetto to hang with Barry! LOL Gosh I loved him!
Oh yes, Andy was a heartthrob. Just as talented as his brothers but younger and blonder. Next time you give him another listen try An Everlasting Love and Thicker Than Water.
YAY! I had to look back and find where you did it but this is one of his best solo songs. I cry every time I hear him! The world lost this awesome voice way too soon. You guys are doing great! Keep on playing the 60 and 70's music - you are just beginning to touch base with the raw, pure talent and voice quality of what REAL singers actually have. In those years, we HEARD it and now YOU TWO are appreciating just how awesome it was! Thank You and Bless You for doing this!
Andy Gibb also hosted the TV show "Solid Gold" with Marilyn McCoo for a year or so. My favorite two hosts of that program! I believe it was 1980, around that time.
love the studio version, because the brothers Gibb do the chorus, also “You should be dancing” the live performance, where there all together is great.
From the late night TV show, Midnight Special ". Way back before the internet or MTV it was one of the few places to see your favorite artists AND they didn't lip synch on there or have auto-tune. Back when music artists had TALENT.
Oh wow I haven’t heard this song in decades. When I was about 12, I loved this song. Andy Gibb was the first concert I went to. I hadn’t thought about this in years. Thanks for bringing back a few memories. :-)

Barry wrote many of Andy's songs or wrote with him. He had a lovely voice and a definite stage presence that invited people, especially ladies, to lean in and listen more.
I’m SOOOO glad you’re finally reacting to more Gibb Brothers!!!Think I’ve gone back & watched your others at least twice…..& Andy’s Shadow Dancing prob 6 times🤣! I think the studio version is a bit slower & better….incase Jordan wants to add another Gibb song to his playlist🎼!
He was too shy (and insecure) to be "a ladies man", Amber. He was a sweetheart, though, and when he gave his heart away he was hurt c.o.m.p.l.e.t.e.l.y. when it didn't work! 😪 *He did get married very young and have a daughter, Peta. She's a school teacher in Australia and looks just like her dad.
There is a documentary about the Bee Gees. You might want to find it and watch it if you are a big Bee Gees fan. It shows how important the other two Bee Gees were to their sound. Barry is great but Maurice and Robin contributed a great deal. Andy was going to join his older brothers but unfortunately, he passed away before he did.
Loved this song! Andy has the distinction of hitting #1 with his first three hits, - this, "Shadow Dancing", and "(Love Is) Thicker Than Water". That one has to be your next AG song! He also did a great duet called "I Can't Help It" with Olivia Newton-John.
I just came about on your channel and i had privilege to meet Andy an Barry.. Andy was so talented but died before he could join his brothers in bee gees.. Barry did a lot of his back up in songs.. Andy was stuck in drugs he couldn't get out of an it cost him life.... you have no better back up singers than the Gibbs..his mom an dad never sang..they just created an amazing sons an a daughter.. Andy i wish i could seen his talent today as im getting older myself at 67 years old.. so heartbreaking that only Barry still here... can't imagine his heartbreak... but let's keep letting them live in our hearts by never forgetting iconic
Thanks a ton! It's always a great pleasure to see people discover Andy who was physically and vocally a kind of Barry's sosie. The song reached N°1 in the USA. :-). It was written and composed by Barry and on the studio recording, we can clearly hear him doing the back vocals. Andy's following record: "Love is thicker than water" co written with Barry ranked also N°1. His third number one was "Shadow dancing". Several following tracks charted also but not so high : "Everlasting love" (5), "Our love don't throw it away" ( 9), "Desire" (4), "I can't help it" a duet with Olivia Newton John, (12)"Time is time" (15), "Me without you" ( 40), "All I have to do is dream" duet with Victoria Principal (51). My fav are: Me without you, Desire and Time is time.

Great reaction! This album sits right next to Leif Garrett's "I Was Made For Dancing" on one side and Hall & Oates "Private eyes" on the other keeping it safe! Thank you for letting me sit in with you once again!
I meant to say and his "Shadow Dancing" album!
And it is pretty cool when a pop heartthrob can actually deliver on this level! Quality.
There are no words to describe the amazing talent of all the brothers but what I admire the most is the love they had for each other. Barry's love for his little brother reminds me of my big brother. I cry when I think of his broken heart when Andy passed....
Andy was the pin up star of the family, we all had his posters on the wall! He was dreamy.
The amazing Barry wrote this song..
Voices of Angels
I remember listening to this song on the radio a lot when I was growing up. I also remember him being in several of the teen magazines like Tiger Beat and Teen Beat.
I had such a crush on Andy when I was a little girl. I would just melt when I would hear this on the radio. RIP Andy
Another must watch is 100 TopTen hits by The Bee Gees. It's mind blowing these brothers catalogue
There's a whole special with Andy Gibb, ABBA & Olivia Newton John. It's a great video!!! You should react to part of it if not all. ♡
Be great if you could react to that one too 💗
On UA-cam you'll find a video of the Gibb Brothers when they were children singing "Alexander's Ragtime Band" 1963 - Barry was 15
You HAVE to listen to “Words” by Andy, OMG he is absolutely gorgeous in looks and song.
Had his poster on the wall (along with Travolta) ! Andy was amazing and it is great that it is live - you can tell he is reaching for the falsetto to hang with Barry! LOL Gosh I loved him!
I had such a crush on Andy Gigg!! Fun Fact, Barry wrote all of his music..
The memories just come flooding back in. This is the sound of my early teen years.
I just found his vinyl at the farmer's market today and of course, had to bring it home :D
love the studio version, because the brothers Gibb do the chorus, also “You should be dancing” the live performance, where there all together is great.
It took you long enough to get💡 that we wanted you to listen to Andy Gibb. But once you did there was no turning back. He was such a gift
Andy gibb had everything, the looks, the voice, and the pure sex appeal. Everyone loved him, he is truly missed
From the late night TV show, Midnight Special ". Way back before the internet or MTV it was one of the few places to see your favorite artists AND they didn't lip synch on there or have auto-tune.
Back when music artists had TALENT.
The Bee Gees had a good run of folky hits 67-70, but then their disco comeback 75-80 was unmatched. They were the top 40 Kings of the era
Oh wow I haven’t heard this song in decades. When I was about 12, I loved this song. Andy Gibb was the first concert I went to. I hadn’t thought about this in years. Thanks for bringing back a few memories. :-)
Love this song! You should check out Leo Sayer, When I Need You.
Yes andy gibb was a great singer just like his big brother Barry ❤👍
This song if you're playing it very loud
Be careful if you turn it up very loud😅😅😊😊😊
I just did a one talk I wanna know if taio'll cry at 1 my brother and Shirley but I didn't out Brower and ship late. They got a song, one dog, one t o k e
LOVE this song! Have this on 45rpm as well!
RIP Andy Gibb and brothers, Maurice and Robin.
*Andy Gibb - "Don't throw It All Away"*
He was too shy (and insecure) to be "a ladies man", Amber. He was a sweetheart, though, and when he gave his heart away he was hurt c.o.m.p.l.e.t.e.l.y. when it didn't work! 😪 *He did get married very young and have a daughter, Peta. She's a school teacher in Australia and looks just like her dad.
And Peta sings like a songbird too. Such a pretty voice on the Gibb Collective project. Imagine finding you here!!
EVERLASTING LOVE by Andy. His best song by far.
He's so young here -- only 17. It's amazing what he accomplished in his short life. So sad that he died so young. I adored him and still do!!!!
Loved this song! Andy has the distinction of hitting #1 with his first three hits, - this, "Shadow Dancing", and "(Love Is) Thicker Than Water". That one has to be your next AG song! He also did a great duet called "I Can't Help It" with Olivia Newton-John.
Weren’t they dating?
@@lollylolly8186 It was rumored, but both insisted they were just friends.
I’m obsessed with The Bee Gees as a group and their separate projects. They are EVERYTHING!
Barry Gibb is easily one of my favorite song writers ever
Never clicked so fast!!!
Me too!! Hahahaha
Beautiful song, Beautiful Andy Gibb! Awesome reaction for Andy who truly sings like the Gibb brothers!!
Please do a Seals and Crofts reaction, summer breeze, Hummingbird, ill play for you !
