*As a childhood friend of all three of the lads (Andy hadn't been born), I keep trying to get to the end of this interview without being in floods of tears. Not least because I know Barry was just 100% Barry throughout the whole interview. No ego, no heirs and graces. Just a mate whose **_"job"_** was to write and sing songs with his brothers. It's hard... I mean really hard, to see him surrounded by his big, beautiful family, yet at the same time, he feels like a man alone without Mo and Rob around. I know from personal experience, that the worst thing about getting older, isn't creaking bones, gaining a few extra pounds, or losing your hair. No. The worst thing (by far) is losing family members and lifetime friends who all played a part in making you the person you ultimately become. Sorry to be so downbeat, but that's just how I feel today. May your God bless you, whoever and wherever you are today x.*
Thanks very much mate. So true it shows the human spirit is number 1. Faith hope and love will always shine through
Thank you for sharing, LJD Manx Fella - very moving and powerful. I am yet to see the entire interview, as it's just too late at night and I only found it about one hour ago. Barry Gibb sounds like a lovely, beautiful soul as I believe all the members of the group were. Sadly, I have to leave further viewing until tomorrow night. However, I know I'll truly value the time spent on the Bee Gees, from last night, tonight, tomorrow night and in future days ahead, God Bless and I'm sorry for your loss of all Bee Gees other than Barry, I pray you find solace and comfort, when you take a trip down memory lane whilst listening to their extraordinary music from Heaven : Barry's voice is stunning and their harmonising is excellent and I'm sure the angels like to join him and his deceased brothers in song. I pray you and your loved Ines have a blessed and joyous Christmas and Happy New Year for 2022.
Totally agree with you....getting old is by far the saddest part of life...because you are left behind by everyone and everything that shaped you.
我很认同你要表达的意思,你非常真诚,看完我有点难过,老不可怕,可怕的是身边的人一个个离开,

Hats off to the interviewer for her sensitivity. Barry was definitely having an emotional catharsis and she showed just the right amount of empathy. And to Mr. Gibb, you and your brothers will never be forgotten.
Yes, hats off to her for honoring his emotional moments. She was doing her job, but he was unpacking pain.

He is a great person, and so unselfish in his ways. It made me sad to see him crying. So many of their songs were sort of auto--biographical, unfortunately...
I lived in Florida in the 1970's. Everybody knew them, and some people even partied with them at this place called Stiltsville, off of Key Biscayne. I agree
He tries to hide his emotions but they still shine through. This is a wonderful interview. Thanks.
You're a strong man there, Barry. Congratulations.
We're behind you and believe in you.
I feel Barry’s pain. I lost my brother to cancer in 2011 and I’ll never be the same. Like Barry, I don’t understand why I’m left because I’m 3 years older. I naturally thought my brother would bury me. I hope Barry knows how much The Bee Gees meant to the world. I still enjoy their music to this day. God bless you Barry.
If you weren't here, he'd have to be the one telling the stories: you're taking the burden of being the one left, and only you know just how heavy that is, regardless of whether you chose it or whether your brother was up to the task. You couldn't stop his life ending, but you *are* the reason I - a complete stranger - got to know he lived. And I for one am grateful for that ❤
@@fionam7768 Thank you for the kind words. I miss my brother so much but I will spend the rest of my life making sure his memory lives on. He left behind children that miss him too. I often tell them stories of their Dad and the wonderful childhood we had. I’ve made sure they have photos of him as a child and they treasure them. My parents have also passed away so I’m alone except for my brother’s children. They’re very special to me and I love them dearly. God bless you dear friend. Hugs from Tennessee USA.
I also have a 3 year younger brother. I don't want him to die before me.
The heart in this man is unbelievable. A true legend.
Oh my. What an emotional interview this was. When Barry admitted that each time he lost a brother, it was when they were not getting along. The pain he has had to carry, knowing that, must be awful. I cried along with him. The interviewer was great in being so sensitive and comforting to Barry's pain and grief.
Hello Marie, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the Virus??
Я первый раз услышала этих ребят в 1978 году, и они мне сразу понравились. Душевность голосов,их прозрачность, чистота навсегда останутся в нашей памяти.
My heart hurts for him. 😢 we all have to come to this point sooner or later in life. It’s heartbreaking 💔 😔
May God bless his heart. What a genuine human being.
Hello Ann..
How are you doing today?
He really is
I lost my only brother when he was 50, to brain cancer. My heart goes out to this man. My brother and I sang together, he loved the BeeGees, as do I. ❤
My heart goes out to you, my friend....
I love the Bee Gees...ever since Saturday Night Fever...
May your heart heal.
I lost my sister who died at 48. She had breat cancer that went to her brain. Another sister survived cancer but just barely. Watching this is very difficult. Take care of yourself!!!!
SOOOO proud of you Barry, and your late brothers! Love from Australia.
RESPECT! Thank you Barry you are a genuine man and a great inspiration!
Words of Wisdom Brother!
This interview allowed Barry to unpack some of his pain. It gave us insight not into a former superstar but we learned the history of three brothers who dearly loved each other, and their eldest brother who grapples with living without them. Excellent gentle interview. Kudos to her for handling it with care.❤️
This band have a solid space in my heart. Poor Barry, what a burden of loss to carry on those strong shoulders. This interviewer Rahni, was quite lovely.
I have absolutely loved the Bee Gees since day one. There will never be a band, group, whatever that would ever come close to being as great and sweet, and humble, etc as them. It just doesn't get any better case closed! I will never, ever get tired of listening to them. Their voices just blend so perfectly like no other! The smiles and fun and laughter they shared and entertained everyone with is just so amazing and unforgettable! I just can't say enough about them! They are to me just timeless no doubt about it! Like I believe Elton John said one said, (quote)
They came in, made their mark in the world, music scene, whatever and never left!
@@janetmuckenhirn9952 Yes you can honestly say nobody in the world sounded quite like them. Quite amazing and unforgettable. Saturday Night Fever would never have been so iconic without them.
Doe he know millions are behind him?? Poor man. Love him to pieces
