Jinjer are pretty cautious about the backing tracks they use. This song is a good example. On the studio version there are a lot of backing vocals and layers. Live they barely include it. Just the few you pointed out. When I did show production I sang backups from the FOH position. Nobody knew where the parts were coming from but they were there. Like any tool it can be misused.
I think you would really like their live video for Who is Gonna be the One. That is Vlad's normal drum setup. He was originally a classical pianist. so he likes his drums low and he plays split handed.

When we saw them they didn't use the extra harmonies on this song or the intro track voice over , they obviously are more experimenting with it than relying on it and its very subtle like you said 😅

Think Jinjer still have Alexander Antoshin as their live FOH engineer. He was/is considered the unseen 5th member of the band.
Discovered Jinjer by accident about 8 years ago and they've remained one of my all time favourite bands since then - Been listening to metal for 40 years so things can get a bit jaded - not so with these guys though !
Best live vid for me is 'Pit of Consciousness (Live in Kiev)' - Romans main melody on this has become one of my go to warm up exercises on Guitar
Couple of Tati facts - her idols are Amy Winehouse and Gwen Stefani, with the latter something you can definitely hear in her cleans.
Growls are from wanting to sound like Otep Shamaya - to practice where she wouldn't be heard (she's an extreme introvert), she would stand near a busy motorway and scream at the passing cars :)
Oh and if you want an idea how Eugene gets his awesome bass sound. Not sure if his Helix is straight to FOH or does the same as Roman and uses 5 cable method to include his amp.
    Amp: Markbass Little Mark III
    Cab: Coffee Cabs
Line 6 Helix. Full breakdown of his settings here though I'm sure he's tweaked stuff since then:

for more bassgasm from this band , their song _Wallflower_ springs to mind.
for drumgasm, check either _Vortex_ and/or _Mediator_
of the 2 other songs you mentioned, the OMV should suffice. ever since the Micro album, they've really poured a lot of money and effort in to making OMVs that are truly works of art.
if you get to _Judgement & Punishment_ , the vocal 1-take is often preferred (though the OMV is pretty neat)
the most common "musts" for the live version are _Pit of Consciousness_ and _Who is Gonna Be the One_ (but i doubt anyone will complain if you add to that list)
Vlad does have a pretty reserved kit ... 2 snares (1 of which is usually a piccolo) , 2 floor toms , high-hat , kick bass , and what seems to be an ever-expanding array of cymbals (he started with just a few ; but seems like every passing year, he adds a couple) -- the cymbal array does indeed _look_ small, but i think that's largely due to the fact that he keeps them low and relatively compact together (and lack of rack toms really helps to keep that low profile, as well)

Speaking in cars, she's the toughest 4x4 All Terrain Vehicle of all Female vocalists I've ever heard. Her range, versatility, and dynamics set her apart. She's ventured into areas of music that few women have gone and DONE IT VERY WELL and that's not pandering to a narrative. I sincerely mean that and she has quite a group of dedicated musicians she's with in Jinjer. Kudos to them too. She's earned her place in heavy metal. Quite an amazing vocalist if you ask me.

To flip from harsh vocals to clean headvoice takes some hellish vocal control... Helps if you have a good set of lungs on you too 😉

Maria Franz has an absolutely incredible voice. It's innocence, haunting, power, control all in one. Her male counterpart's voices are visceral, primal, powerful and a tad terrifying.
They're a German/Danish/Norwegian pagan band. They sing in multiple languages too. The languages used are varied, with German, English, Gothic, Old High German, Icelandic, Latin, Old English, Proto-Norse, Proto-Germanic, and Viking age Old Norse being used.
They make all their drums, horns, costumes themselves.
    TRIGGER WARNING!
These tracks will make you want to strip naked, paint yourself in mud and ash warpaint, don animal skins and stomp through muddy field and run through leafy woodlands in the fog at midnight, full moon.

10:17 - The harmonies you heard in this part were not from the concert, they were added in post. The only backing track they used in this song was the one at the beginning. And yes, they obviously play to a click track, otherwise how would they be in sync with the backing tracks they use in multiple songs? Btw, it's the drummer, Vlad, who controls the click track and the backing tracks from a laptop he has right next to him (you can see him leaning down at 13:19 to stop it after the song ends).

For a musician, and especially - the bass man, the next song should be Who Is Gonna Be The One (Live) Napalm Records. That has some more bass wizardry, amazing drumming, different types of growls and unexpected ending (you always have to expect the unexpected with Jinjer) and in general - amazing chemistry of entire band. There might be better Jinjer songs out there, but this particular live video, at least to me, is the one that highlights the overall musicianship of the band members.

IMO only uneducated fools criticize a band for using backing tracks. Especially if it's only for harmonies and atmospherics. Yes, these bands can absolutely play the songs live without them. But they add a layer of complexity that makes the live show feel more "complete" and closer to the album version. And fans appreciate that. We're there to see a performance after all.

and the second question, I will be 47 this year, but the whole "old man" thing is a bit of self deprecating humour ( somethme we aussies do a lot ) and because as far as the music industry is concerned is would be considered too old to pay attention too. But mainly because calling myself the "Old man metal dude" makes me laugh
