I know it has its problems but dear god i love Rage. I love the world design and combat, i love the levels. Just wish the writing was much better and it wasn't just two hub worlds.

@@Zargex From what I've seen so far it won't but every gun will behave differently depending on how you fire them for example Rage 2's shotgun if you fire from the hip it fires buckshot if you aim with it the shotgun transforms into a sonic concussion cannon and in overdrive mode soft targets uhh...explode into blood goo.
One thing you forgot was the combat shotgun's magazine attachment. It was an item you could buy from vendors labelled as "shotgun extender" and it made you reload in one fell swoop instead of shell by shell.
And the Authority pulse cannon and the sawed off shotgun should have been in Rage 2 too... this four guns were absolutely amazing; RAGE II has cool guns as well, (my favorite is the pump action shutgun) but still it kinda makes me sad that this beauties didn't make it... (EXPECIALY the Authority pulse cannon)

Other than guns, every characters, even npcs bystanders has unique look full of personality on them. The environments also way more polished and compelling. Rage2 is such a disgrace to the first game, Avalanche studios is nowhere near possess the same creative capability to Id software. Everything in Rage 2 looks uninspired, bland, generic.

On nightmare it took me one fat boy shot to the head to knock enemies with no armor, but authority have like high armor that it takes V2 authority rounds to kill them
This is one of the most important part of the games that modern fps games neglect, the sounds of the weapons and how they feel, this reminds me of (quake 4) with the weapons, over the top killing machines.
i love how you can just tell it's an idSoftware game pistol shotgun smg minigun rocket launcher slower energy projectile weapon long range weapon BFG and then they added different types of ammo that change the weapons even more and upgrades sadly i am not a fan of games FORCING me to race and i finished rage only once because of that
This game is so underrated, has better gunplay & weapons than any of the Dooms IMO. I think if it released in a different time period then when Fallout and Borderlands were super popular, it could have been GOTY depending on the year.

Looking back, RAGE had some really deep combat mechanics. Oh and the AI and ragdoll physics...sweet, sweet fun. Too bad they were all wasted on a corridor shooter that felt like a glorified tech demo.
David Stewart why? That game has way too many guns for him to do compared to this game that doesn’t have the same reload animation for almost every gun and has an amount that’s not millions of different guns.
It's really a shame how short the game was and how utterly pointless the open world is because in terms of pure gunplay Rage absolutely fucks. They really should just have cut out the open world entirely and only have you in those settlement areas accepting quests from people and upgrading your weapons and if they wouldn't even lose the whole "car" gimmick since you'd still have the racing and arena minigames.

this is top 3 of most nostalgic games for me bc of the sounds when u start a mission and the graphics, ah so good.
take notes future shooter devs, weapons should be modular so that changing ammo types actually feels cool and like a whole new gun
Authority MG is just so good, both aesthetics and sounds.
The Crossbow and Nailgun should be DLC weapons in Rage 2.
And the Authority pulse cannon and the sawed off shotgun should have been in Rage 2 too... this four guns were absolutely amazing; RAGE II has cool guns as well, (my favorite is the pump action shutgun) but still it kinda makes me sad that this beauties didn't make it... It's part of the Scorchers DLC. I don't think many people have played it. I only found out about it by seeing it in the Xbox marketplace.

I didnt like the gunplay in RAGE1 . You needed 50 bullets to kill some enemies, more or less. It was annoying sometimes

Nailgun is from the Scorchers DLC. Sawed off Shotgun and the Fists of RAGE (spiked knuckles basically) are from the Anarchy Edition DLC.
