Truly a timeless classic. I honestly still prefer Arkham Asylum simply because the smaller scale and shorter length better fits my personal preferences, but the way Rocksteady expanded on and added depth to their own universe in City was incredible and really helped to set this Batman and Gotham apart from TAS to be its own wonderful thing. I also think this is Mark Hamill's greatest performance as the Joker. The nasty, gurgling voice with hints of desperation you got from this sickly Joker contrasted brilliantly with the Clayface Joker's "classic" feel.

Not just gameplay but graphics, spacing, acting... everything of this game hold up extremely well. Also, this game size of open world is perfect, not too big for you to feel it's empty but not too small either, just enough to fill in fun 30-40 hours of contents in every inch of the city. I'm back in Arkham City myself. I'm seeing some graphical glitches and low texture loading/popping. Is that from the 4k mod? I haven't noticed anything in my playthrough, but I can also pause this video and rewind to check.
You can buy all Batman games for the same price as suicide squad
Great retrospective to a great game! And a cool beanie!
I’ve been replaying this on the Wii U. Wanted to try out the gamepad features. It’s holds up well except the 30 FPS is annoying .
The suicide squad game is not really a game. It was intended as a brilliant market ploy to get people to buy and play arkham games again
and it worked. The older games have a higher player base on Steam with just AK. Co-op games like old Dying Light has the double the figures. My fave bad game of all time.
I refuse to play suicide squad, live service games are trash. Arkham asylum and city are the best superhero games ever
It’s funny how the Arkham Trilogy falls in line with the Dark Knight trilogy as far as opinions/quality.
I'm just gonna pretend the suicide squad kill the justice league is not canon
It turns out the game is good marketing for the Arkham games
funny how I'm doing the same, if Suicide Squad did anything is that it makes you wanna replay good games instead.
After playing it, it just made me want to remind myself who the fuck Arkham Batman is again. Destroying his enemies mentally and physically
This game runs amazing on the Steamdeck.
The Batman games story and gameplay is one of best in the world.
On how we got here; my theory is that rock steady wanted to make there traditional game but some corporate executives said nope. Plus made the developers turn it into soulless live-service game.
The amount of time I’ve put into the Arkham series is insane! I love that entire world that’s been established. Even Origins was a funny little dip for a bit. Haven’t played Gotham Knights but maybe it’s time.
I think the stealth in City is the best its been in the series too.
If you bought suicide squad you're a bad person
It's shameful that their games from 2 generations ago are of such significantly higher quality
Arkham City is fine. Played through most of it a decade ago, and didn't finish it but I enjoyed what I played. Really started to hate the detective and stealth gameplay over time. It isn't in any of my top lists but I do enjoy the second iteration of the combat that was perfected in Spiderman PS4 in my opinion.
Throwing in the classic Jonkler reaction face was a nice nod to those from the Reddit Alsume, intentionally or not.
Boaaa I remember my first time fighting Freeze. That gave me Fromsoft levels of sweat 😂
we love you matty! you make a lot of great points
You could play as Catwoman only if you bought the game new, else you needed to get the online pass lol
Currently playing the Wii U armored Edition as a first timer and its fun and has an unlocked Frame rate that can be horrid or ok. I also love the Suicide Squad game regardless of whatever.
I just picked up the arkham trilogy on steam, can't wait to play them!
Such a good game one I plan on going back to to wrap up the platinum on it!
