If you think Vader killed the stormtroopers because he wanted to save the padiwan you definitely need to re-watch that scene. It served 2 purposes one was to stop them reporting to Palpatine and other was to gain the kids trust since he just watched Vader kill his Dad. Wasn't out of kindness lol
Really wish they had been given proper dev time for the sequel, the original was awesome and the foundation was there for an all-time great Star Wars game
Fr number 2 has more fun combat IMO would’ve loved to see the story get some attention I remember being home sick from school one day and I beat the entire game before it would’ve even been my lunch time 😂😂😂 crazy
The Force Unleashed is one of my favorite Star Wars games of all time! I've played the PS3 version, Wii version, PS2 version, DS version and the Switch version which was a remastered port of the Wii.
I grew up with the Wii version and it's honestly still my favorite way of playing it. The utilization of the wii-mote as a lightsaber brings me childlike joy each and every time I play it, taking me back to when I was a young teen playing it for the first time. It was so important to my experience that I outright skipped The Force Unleashed 2.. because the lightsaber combat was locked to the A button. I've since tried the game out on PS3 and PC, but I've never really gotten myself past the first level on either. Even the Switch version, which is largely a port of the Wii version, didn't feel quite as good to me because of the way the joy-cons are built compared to the wii-mote. I might give other versions, like the PS2 and 360 TFU, a try sometime just to see how things feel now, but as far as I'm concerned, the Wii version *is* Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
oh yeah. as someone who played both the ps2 and the 360 versions back in the day, the xbox version was a spectacle but the ps2 version was where the gameplay was at!
I wish that you were able to get your hands on a Ultimate Sith Edition copy because it's a metal case with a unique character chard in different boxes like trading cards, AND came with all the DLC on the disc by default. It is a GORGEOUS thing to see for someone who absolutely loves this game.
I think its funny that on Switch we got the Wii version ported lmao. I played on the xbox 360 originally but i do own the switch physical. Starkiller is awesome but i remember the huge debate online about him using the force on the star destroyer lol
As someone who's owned the TFU on PS2, he's right, this version is definitely worth playing. I loved the level designs and combat, they always felt so Star Wars. Additionally, the alternate costumes & skins were great and varied, as well as the lightsaber colors. Massive shame on how the sequel (& would-be sequel) failed to deliver.
In my heart, Starkiller is still canon. I also loved the sequel. Granted it's a glorified DLC but the team wasn't given enough time to make a proper sequel.
I played this on PS2 back in the day, and despite being disappointed that the protagonist didn't hold his lightsaber the edgy way, backwards, it was a really good time, with an awesome story that I'm sad it's not canon.
The euphoria physics engine was probably the best physics engine ever and still is. Sad that most games didn't use it since the euphoria Devs were like contractors companies would hire. But take two bought them so maybe in future rockstar titles we'll see it used more
I loved this game so much! I think I bought the WII version first and loved it because at the time I thought the motion controls made sense (not sure if that holds up). I then asked my parents for the PSP version and the PS3 version. I played both to death and then again on the switch. Still hoping for a high quality remake and a third game in the series.
I loved this game when it came out,but I hated the Star Destroyer scene, not that I didn’t think Starkiller could do it,but that it was so damn frustrating to play that scene. Even with the annoyance of playing that part I played through it many times over the years. The sequel on the other hand was disappointing, it’s too bad they were not given proper time and resources to make it great. At least we all still have the various permutations of the first Force Unleashed. Great Video!!
I had the Wii and the DS version growing up. And man did i adore the DS version. Not sure how well it holds up nowadays but back then it was the pinnacle of DS gaming. For me.
I had the game on ps2 as a kid, and then i saw my brother playing it on his 360 and i felt so gyped! Like why does your version look so much cooler then mine?!
Real talk, they need to rerelease TFU1 with all of the content across all versions into one Ultimate version. More so than the Ultimate Sith Edition. Would be awesome to have that at some point.
Just btw, if you going by all the lore around Star Wars, taking down 1 Star Destroyer with the force is par for the course. The Sith Lords and higher were monster monsters. Even though I didnt like the new trilogy, Darth Sidious lightning power taking out so many ships isnt out of place
This is my second-favorite Star Wars game of all time. The Force Unleashed 2 is my number one. These games are the Star Wars stories that convinced me to give the Star Wars franchise a shot, because I didn't watch any of them before I ran into these two games. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 1&2 will probably never be dethroned as my favorites when it comes to Star Wars games. Because no other one that I have played has ever come even remotely close.
Vader didnt save him because he was good He saw how powerful the kid was mistaking him for the master He saw an opportunity to mold him into the perfect apprentice to take down palpatine. A true sith
It's games like this where I wish there wasn't A strict Policy in canon. My head canon is that Sith Lord star Killer Overthrows Palpatine, who admits his Defeat, and hands over his Empire. Gaining more powers And he Goes through the Rebellion. Teams up with his apprentice Luke Skywalker to save a Tortured Leia, From The Clone of Starkiller. From there He reshapes the way how the sith operates. Getting rid of the rule of two (to spite Palpatine) When Leia asks to also be his apprentice. And goes to other parts of star wars and created an Empire Of Neutral Chaos. Star killer also finds and saves proxy, putting him in charge of An old Droid army from the Clone wars. All that And more.
I genuinely had no idea that the different consoles all had different versions of the game some way. Always thought it was a singular experience. Crazy to just find that out now. Would love to know what other games have this sort of feature if you could call it that
One of my favorite Star Wars games. I played it on PC, PS3 and psp via the Vita. It was the first game I saw in “HD” at my local Toys R Us back in the day.
Glad to see you give some love to the PSP version of the game, I know people rave about the PS2 version but not many people give attention to the modes that the PSP version had compared to the other versions
My favorite thing in these games was to just pick up dudes and knock them into things. The physics blew my mind! The sequel is messy, but the first game has an amazing story.
Got this game as a kid when it came out and damm, the nostalgia just hit me. I remember it being a bit eerie in a way, there was this robot level that kinda spooked me as a kid. But finished it eventualy. Honestly a great game with many environments. I remember this super cool armor for Starkiller that had the helmet/mask in particular.
The Wii version was very different from the XBOX 360 version. I as far as I remember I like the level design of the 360 version better, but the controls on the Wii version was great. I spent a lot of time just putting boxes on another, turning them in space or using clones as projectiles for target shooting XD
Underrated game, it was my all time favorite Star Wars game as a kid. The dlc was fire, a very good what if? The sequel, for what it's worth, was fun and op, but too short, the first games DLC was way better than the second.
Great game a lot of memories. I do like it I can play it on my switch since it's my only console beside PC but I can bring my starwars library anywhere. So nice. But I will say the PS2 version is definitely the best. That is the one I grew up playing. Wish I still had my PS2
I had psp version and 360 version but preferred the psp version over all . Order 66 mode , historic mission . And back when other people had the psp doing wlan mode in school and dueling
I grew up playing the ps2 version. Gotta agree that it is the better game. But the DLC for the 360 version more than makes up for it. You can honestly play both games and it will feel different.
I love Force unleashed I have the collectors edition of both games complete in box and haven't even touched the USB that came with the second game. First game has better story, Second game has better gameplay.
The PS2 & Wii ports of this game feel better and work better in my opinion but there’s no doubt that either way you play it you’re bound to have a blast
I played the PS3 and PSP versions. While both have their advantages, I prefer the PSP. In particular, I like the horde mode. For a game about showcasing force attacks, I’m really surprised only this version has a horde mode. It makes sense because it eliminates the long cutscenes and awful platforming that can hamper gameplay
Loved how Vader was generally impressed at how such a young child took his saber with the force and thought “hmm yeah I’ll adopt this one”
Batman energy
If you think Vader killed the stormtroopers because he wanted to save the padiwan you definitely need to re-watch that scene. It served 2 purposes one was to stop them reporting to Palpatine and other was to gain the kids trust since he just watched Vader kill his Dad. Wasn't out of kindness lol

Same here
GOW but in Space? Fuck yes, sir.
Yeah I was bummed out how short it was so I ended up replaying on every difficulty which I don't usually do.
Wish we got a 3rd game to redeem things.
Neat fact force unleashed 1 and 2 are the only non rockstar games to use their game engine, no wonder why using the force in this felt so badass
You’re absolutely right, I totally forgot about that detail. Thanks to the euphoria engine this game aged well.
The Force Unleashed is one of my favorite Star Wars games of all time! I've played the PS3 version, Wii version, PS2 version, DS version and the Switch version which was a remastered port of the Wii.
I was surprised on the Wii version having so many different things like the Jedi temple, new enemies, bosses & different areas.
Thanks for the extra grind to keep episodes going during the break, hope the whole team enjoys their time off!
Fully agree with you on that Episode 3 is goated. Watching it in theaters was an unforgettable experience
19/05/05. 11am first viewing in Lincoln. That was so good
Episode I was better.
I saw it in theaters as a kid when I was five on opening night. I didn't fully understand everything, but I knew it was important.
only movie i have (and likely ever will) went to the theaters twice for. 😅
I grew up with the Wii version and it's honestly still my favorite way of playing it. The utilization of the wii-mote as a lightsaber brings me childlike joy each and every time I play it, taking me back to when I was a young teen playing it for the first time. oh yeah. as someone who played both the ps2 and the 360 versions back in the day, the xbox version was a spectacle but the ps2 version was where the gameplay was at!
PSP version is the GOAT! Sunk so many hours into the Order 66 mode
It’s weird that the psp is the most complete version of this game
I wish that you were able to get your hands on a Ultimate Sith Edition copy because it's a metal case with a unique character chard in different boxes like trading cards, AND came with all the DLC on the disc by default. It is a GORGEOUS thing to see for someone who absolutely loves this game.

I played this game so much on ds and wii, the lightsaber lock on the ds was so fun
Bringing down the Star Destroyer with the force is one of the best moments in all of SW Lore.
I played this on PS2 back in the day, and despite being disappointed that the protagonist didn't hold his lightsaber the edgy way, backwards, it was a really good time, with an awesome story that I'm sad it's not canon.
This game has the most impressive physics in any game to this day
The euphoria physics engine was probably the best physics engine ever and still is. Sad that most games didn't use it since the euphoria Devs were like contractors companies would hire. But take two bought them so maybe in future rockstar titles we'll see it used more
I'm sorry you're wrong, that honour goes to Red Faction Guerilla
The force unleashed 2 had the fun mind controller lines with storm troopers. Like "who are you people" and "for the rebellion".
I first played the demo for this game on PS3 back in the day.
I currently own the DS and Switch versions of the game.
They're still fun to play.
Nar Shaada is in the 360 version, the first level is above it and the cloud city bar level rescuing Kota is on Nar Shaada
I loved this game when it came out,but I hated the Star Destroyer scene, not that I didn’t think Starkiller could do it,but that it was so damn frustrating to play that scene. Even with the annoyance of playing that part I played through it many times over the years. I loved how each version of this game on different consoles weren’t completely the same this is easily my fav Star Wars game
These games are classics. Starkiller deserves to be canon
I had the Wii and the DS version growing up. And man did i adore the DS version. Not sure how well it holds up nowadays but back then it was the pinnacle of DS gaming. For me.
The PSP version stays on my Vita forever.
Isnt the first level on the 360 also Nar shaddaa? But you're on a orbital platform or something?
FYI, the Wii version is the one with the Duel fighting mode, the PS2 version doesn't have anything extra like the Wii and PSP versions.
Just btw, if you going by all the lore around Star Wars, taking down 1 Star Destroyer with the force is par for the course.
The Sith Lords and higher were monster monsters. Even though I didnt like the new trilogy, Darth Sidious lightning power taking out so many ships isnt out of place
Awesome video as always Matty. I think I'm going to try this out on the PS5 over the holidays. Happy holidays to you and yours Matty.
is the wii version the same as PS2? I got the wii version for the motion controls (i know)
Sweet! You got the Star Wars Kinect Xbox 360! My friend has that one, too. Very cool.
I recently just got TFU 1 and 2 on PS3 and got all the dlc lol
?? You say you are playing on Xbox 360 but how did you get the graphics to look so good? Graphics on mine don't look anything close
This video drop was totally unexpected!!! 👍⛄❄️🌨️
Loved this game and love that you covered it! I will say though, this was not the dawn of in between storylines in Star Wars 😂
"The Force Uneashed was the dawn of that kind of content"
Shadows of the Empire *hold my beer*
This is my second-favorite Star Wars game of all time. The Force Unleashed 2 is my number one.
These games are the Star Wars stories that convinced me to give the Star Wars franchise a shot, because I didn't watch any of them before I ran into these two games.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 1&2 will probably never be dethroned as my favorites when it comes to Star Wars games. Because no other one that I have played has ever come even remotely close.
Vader didnt save him because he was good
He saw how powerful the kid was mistaking him for the master
He saw an opportunity to mold him into the perfect apprentice to take down palpatine. A true sith
Starkiller was also a guest character in Soul Calibur 4
It's games like this where I wish there wasn't A strict Policy in canon.
My head canon is that Sith Lord star Killer Overthrows Palpatine,
who admits his Defeat, and hands over his Empire.
Gaining more powers
And he Goes through the Rebellion.

And goes to other parts of star wars and created an Empire
Of Neutral Chaos.
Star killer also finds and saves proxy, putting him in charge of An old Droid army from the Clone wars.
All that And more.
Just now seeing this and man I needed sum nostalgia ✨
I genuinely had no idea that the different consoles all had different versions of the game some way. Always thought it was a singular experience. Crazy to just find that out now. Would love to know what other games have this sort of feature if you could call it that

Are the extra levels on the Steam version or only the PS2 version?
They are if you buy the "ultimate Sith" Edition, i believe! It's just one or two bucks more
I LOVED this game back in the day!
My favorite thing in these games was to just pick up dudes and knock them into things. The physics blew my mind! The sequel is messy, but the first game has an amazing story.
My favorite Star Wars game. Loved all the extras. So much replayability with all of the different skins and lightsaber colors.
YESSIR my all time favorite star wars game 😊 I would love a remastered version of this game.
Got this game as a kid when it came out and damm, the nostalgia just hit me. I remember it being a bit eerie in a way, there was this robot level that kinda spooked me as a kid. The dlc was fire, a very good what if?
The sequel, for what it's worth, was fun and op, but too short, the first games DLC was way better than the second.
i took a break from this game and never came back, this game definitely was some heat tho
Playing this game on Xbox Series X is upgraded to 4k with 60fps
It's incredible
PSP version was peak
I never played the ps3 360 version of the force unleashed I only played the ps2 version and I loved it
I bought and played this on my pc a month or so ago and it was a blast. I wish they would update the game with graphics and more fluid gameplay
Mr "Call me Master" Matty 😂
I recently played the game as well and still enjoy playing the game i wish they would make a 3rd game
Great game a lot of memories. I do like it I can play it on my switch since it's my only console beside PC but I can bring my starwars library anywhere. So nice. But I will say the PS2 version is definitely the best. That is the one I grew up playing. Wish I still had my PS2
This game is so much fun
I miss when you could have completely different versions of a game on different consoles.
I had psp version and 360 version but preferred the psp version over all . Order 66 mode , historic mission . And back when other people had the psp doing wlan mode in school and dueling
Vader wasn’t saving the kid bc he felt bad your talking about the guy who killed kids in order 66 he saved him bc he saw he was strong in the force
Wii /ps2 version was the goated game
I only played the PS3 version, but loved it
Force Unleashed is peak.
I just finished playing the switch version of to long ago would love next get remasters of the 2 games with all dlc included on ps5 and series x
When tried playing Jedi: Fallen Order earlier this year, I wished I was playing this instead.
I love these games so much I literally have played every version and I have no shame and 2 was great just not the full product we deserve
Starkiller is also in soul caliber 4
Bro the psp version was what I had and it was awesome
I grew up playing the ps2 version. Gotta agree that it is the better game. But the DLC for the 360 version more than makes up for it. You can honestly play both games and it will feel different.
Bro it so weird almost everytime I play an old game you just happen to upload a video about it a week later 🤣
They should re make this, not remastered but from the ground up
is this optimised for the series x because I would love to play it again
I love Force unleashed I have the collectors edition of both games complete in box and haven't even touched the USB that came with the second game. First game has better story, Second game has better gameplay.
STILL the golden example for 1-Player gaming in my opinion!!!
It's WAY up there in the GOAT list for me personally.
I have XB360 & PC.
360 plays the best for me.
The PS2 & Wii ports of this game feel better and work better in my opinion but there’s no doubt that either way you play it you’re bound to have a blast
Definitely do the sequel game 💯 I rocked with both of them. I had the PSP version of Force Unleashed 1 and it served its purpose as a handheld 😂🙌🏾
Dude please make a video of the sequel I just bought it for the PS3
Unfortunately the switch version is the Wii version. Wish it was ps2 if that’s correct
0:52
^ I still play this game from time to time on the PS3 ever since it was first released🤌🏼
Nar Shaddaa is a moon over Nal Hutta not a planet, great video tho
He didn't talk about the ds version
What about the PC version?
Taking down the star destroyer is just like moving rocks
The 360 version was my favorite
What a game!
is the 360 and ps3 the same?
I played the wii version I loved it
Guy really missed the Wii version with the arena fight mode. Still good vid though.
No you missed the point Starkiller is a Force Wrecking Ball
I played the PS3 and PSP versions. While both have their advantages, I prefer the PSP. In particular, I like the horde mode. For a game about showcasing force attacks, I’m really surprised only this version has a horde mode. It makes sense because it eliminates the long cutscenes and awful platforming that can hamper gameplay
The PS2 version, is more grounded? Entuned?to the Novel
I played 1 and 2 on the ps3. So I must be missing something.
