  • I like Punch Drumming to songs that relate to the words, "Rhythm" and "Beat" etc. In this clip I'm punch drumming to a song called "Rhythm Of The Night" by DeBarge. It's a medium speed song with a funky dance beat that fits well with a 9x6 bag.

    with that timing and accuracy i guess you could dodge like a million punches coming at you at once, extremely impressive

    • @speedbag1
      @speedbag1  Рік тому +1

      Actually I have not found speed bagging effective in dodging punches because the length of punch coming at your face is variable, but the length of the bags rebound is fixed, so as long as I keep my nose about an inch or two from the rebounding bag it will never hit my face. No worries. IMO Punching a double end bag, with a large variable length of rebound would be a better choice for that. thanks for insight.

    speedbag1, love it man! Have you considered hooking electronic pads to where your ball hits to achieve different sounds? Also, multiple balls gives more sounds

    • @speedbag1
      @speedbag1  3 роки тому +4

      Indeed I have. Years ago I set Piezo drum triggers all around the board, just outside of the bag belly to generate a sound, then tuned them with a DM5 Alesis drum-sound module. It was awesome, almost. There was a lot of cross triggering and when I turned down the sensitive to stop the cross trigger, then it would drop the "3rd" rebound of triplet rhythm (rebound 3 when hit from the front. that is an unpunched rebound and hits the board the softest, and that rebound would not trigger the pickup and totally changed the sound.

    Honeatly... if I did boxing, this would be me at the speed bag.
    I would not be able to help it.
    There would just be no way, like, I'd have my headphones in and it would just happen. With stupid body swaying/dancing and everything.
    Resistance would not be possible.
    I'm also aware it is not easy, but it would still happen regardless of how it sounds and everyone would hate me.

    What's the key to getting a bag to rebound like that? Is it the swivel or the bag?

    • @speedbag1
      @speedbag1  2 роки тому

      The Swivel or the Bag? - They are not mutually exclusive. the Answer is "Both" however and bag and swivel will react this way if "THE USER" knows how to control them. Think of "speed bag equipment" as a mirror: it always reflects what YOU give it. If the bag movement appears out of control, then it is reflecting a problem in the punchers rhythm or timing. When my bag rebounds appear "smooth and consistent", then I am punching repetitive with consist power and timing. I hope that makes sense. #KeepPunching
