This is absolutely brilliant. Its doesn't sway like a heavy bag, costs less and conditions the hands better than a bag would. Excellent!!!

Heavy bags sway for a reason. Kinda designed that way.

@@aakarshakpradhan7983 lol...control, the point of something like this is to hit it. If you knew anything about striking, you'd know you strike through the target, you don't stop at the target. The whole point of bags and pads is to strike them hard, otherwise you could use a piece of paper if you're going for control.

My father grew up using tires as training equipment like this. And since I moved i havnt had a place for my punching bag, great idea! Now I can have a tire in a practical height for training.

Anger corner is great. I had to go to the anger punch bag today when my so called partner slapped me in the face during an arguement.
Thank God I found other ways to deal with my rage because i really wanted to hit back but i knew that it would only get worse because I would have let myself down and live with the consequences for a time. Seeing this idea helps me create new ideas instead of doing push ups and punching bag when things go sour

Awesome DIY bro, I was actually looking on Craigslist today looking for a 100lbs bag. I have 4 tires and the wood to make a few of those to cover punch ,kick, and lower kick.

Super simple and really allows you to get in nicely positioned on the uppercut. I could see potential for another one or two boards mounted for the body rip combos. Nice!

I made one of those a few years ago very similar but used 3 layers of tire it's very stiff but I wanted to be able to hit very hard. I didn't
' stain the wood on mine. I might have to do it now. Good video.

Really great idea here. I was thinking to use a recycled car/truck tire to my training. However, can you use a car/truck tire as heavy bag?
I made one very similar but it is made for low knee, shin kicks. Thanks for the video by the way.
I might do this on all 4 sides of a post in my backyard, each one at a different height.

Did something similar to this in the 70s and after I short while I found large cracks inside my house! I feel it's better on a tree.
Either you're a different kind of animal or you have some problems in your walls. Could be the age of the house or quality of materials... If I did this on one of my walls, the only thing I'd be worried about is the hits resonating. I've got tenants.
Then spectacles comes along with zero hand to eye co ordination and punches the wall

Watch out for shoulder impingement on the overhand and cross. Keep it tight and short.. move in with your feet not your shoulders.

Keep it tight in boxing. In kickboxing punches are long.
@@scottb4540 it's just personal preference I know which one comes with less injury tho :) Speaking out of my own experience with injury and hoping I can stop others from making the same mistakes.
