In this episode we tour one of the most unique listings currently on the market in Los Angeles, 1471 Forest Knoll Drive! Minimalism is a style, not a measure of how expensive something is. The concept of minimalist architecture is to strip everything down to its essential quality and achieve simplicity. The idea is not completely without ornamentation, but that all parts, details, and joinery are considered as reduced to a stage where no one can remove anything further to improve the design. Comment below your favorite feature in this one of a kind home and which cities in America you would like to see future episodes! - Erik

Either way, no matter the market, a brand new home will not be listed with any possibility of it selling for less than 10% of it's asking price. Go find any brand new home that has done that in a competitive market, you wont.

Like, you aren't gonna be playing games on the patio if you risk damage some of the glass anyways, right? It's too delicate to roughhouse on. I'd put a nice sized tent out there to keep out of the sun, put a grill, good amount of seating and then a covered bar. They doing the patio thing wrong. Imagine having an excess of well over 32 mill to burn on a farmhouse to see roofs and a bit of ocean far away... the house itself is nice but would never invest that much on it, and the location doesn't impress me. If I had that much to invest (and meaning I would have much more for upkeep, lifestyle and so on), I would prefer a comfortable apartment or house if I really needed to be in the city, and a proper house outside in a nice location that would be my primary address (the city apt/townhouse would be just for convenience whenever I really had to be in the city).
But whoever has that much money burning their pockets doesn't quite need to work a 9 to 5 job and can be wherever they want most of the time. We're not exactly in the 80's anymore (and even then...).
But I might be a bit harsh... I know taste is subjective and there are people who like to see cement, roofs, industrial stuff (had a friend that moved to a place just because it had industrial cranes close by!!). So there's a market for everything.

don't know if it's overpriced. For that amount of money i lack imagination. But the house itself is pure showoff and not practical at all in every aspect. I doubt this house was made for actual living. But maybe that's exactly what people want who can spend this amount. Maybe some Saudia Arabian oil prince who wants a house for party when he comes to LA twice per year.

It might not be a farmhouse the way you think of farmhouses but this house definitely has the feel of a farmhouse in the oversized kitchen, wood walls and natural lighting. Plus if you want the real farm experience the rooms are big and high enough to make virtical farms out of some of them.

when the term "minimalism" is used it is not referring to the size or price, it is referring to the style of the home. and this is a contemporary barn house, just because it large and luxurious doesn't mean its not a barn house. once again, barn house is referring the style of the home.

I have already seen so many comments stating that the house is overpriced, and I definitely agree that it is extremely overpriced. It's not that luxurious, it's not a farmhouse, there is no promising view, and that's too much money for one acre of land. You barely have privacy because other houses are so close. That is simply ridiculous.
