    You may have misspoken but I thought I'd "clarify": ghee is clarified butter. It's shelf-stable but it's still dairy butter.

    • @msshintahimura
      @msshintahimura 6 років тому

      Alexx Wretched is that okay to eat? I mean, they are expired right? Got me confuse.

    • @IshikaShanai
      @IshikaShanai 6 років тому +6

      Expiry dates are just an estimate from the producer for when the product was created to when it will hypothetically spoil. It does not mean that on the last day written the product will actually spoil.
      Stores use this range of time to gage when they need to routinely change out their goods periodically for health, safety, and legal concerns. With that being said, it's up to your best judgement on whether you purchase packaged food beyond its set date of expiry for these are things you are putting into your body.

    • @AlexxWretched
      @AlexxWretched 6 років тому +2

      Most foods are perfectly good after the expiration date :D I've even bought boxes of cereal recently that had expired in 2015 and weren't even stale at all

    • @AlexxWretched
      @AlexxWretched 6 років тому +2

      I'd say most pantry foods and foods that don't need refrigerated before opening are good for a long time after expiration, though some risk being stale. If it's a perishable food like yogurt or eggs I'd say only risk it by a couple weeks at most, and with fruits and veggies just check for mold or softness

    Ghee is indeed made from dairy (butter) but it's clarified so the milk solids have been removed. It heats well without burning and, because those solids are removed, it stores at room temperature without going rancid.

    Beautiful colorful food ideas… Thank you… I love the “what I ate“videos. They give me great ideas. Just a note about the lemon water… It is alkalizing, however try not to drink it throughout the day or actually as A beverage because The lemon can mess with the enamel on your teeth and make it thinner. To have the same effect I get a shot glass and squeeze the lemon in there. I down the lemon like a shot and image at back of throat like… Tequila i follow it with some warm water and rinse it around in my mouth and swallow to get rid of any lemon on my teeth. Obviously the same holds true with lime water. I am only say this because I did lemon or lime water for a long time and my dentist apparently knows what it’s like and asked me if I did it and gave me the alternative because he said Lemon was chewing on my enamel

    Ghee is clarified butter and it is a dairy product. The butter is heated until the milk solids separate then it is strained leaving only the fat behind. Ghee is clarified butter taken one step further by heating it longer removing all of the water as well as milk solids and allowing the fats to brown a little bit giving it a nutty flavor. Ghee is 99 to 100% pure dairy fat that has a high smoke point and doesn’t need to be refrigerated, we owe Ancient India a big thank you for ghee.

    Some very good and healthy tips, Elsa, which I may incorporate into my own diet. It is so nice to see the two of you enjoy this beautiful desert home. All the best in all your pursuits.

    I genuinely am living vicariously through your videos, if I weren't having twins I would honestly be entertaining the idea of making my life more like this. Beautiful shots, and the way you capture the beauty of the land is incredible. You are living your best life and it's amazing! Loving the content, love from a stagnant fan in NY!

      Elsa Rhae Thank you! It will be my own little adventure! For sure will be including the great outdoors in their lives and encourage them to explore the world! But for the cold winter months, seeing you, Barron and camp enjoying the beautiful desert is bringing me so much joy (and maybe a tad of jealousy lol!) keep doing what you're doing, it's a wonderful blessing to do what you do!

    I include Chia and flax seed in most of my recipes. I pre ground both of them so they are more like a thick powder. It seems to blend in food better. Thanks for sharing it looks good. Hope you can use my little trick.

    Ghee is not "non-dairy butter". Ghee is made from butter. What happens when making is the whey is removed. But that does not make it "non-dairy".

    You guys are great! It's awesome that you can do all this traveling. Do you have a video explaining the mushroom powders you use? Like what kind is good for what conditions, or preventing things. I am a 2 time metastatic breast cancer survivor and I would like another option of what I can eat to help keep the cancer cells from coming back. Thank you for sharing your life with others! And your dog is freaking hilarious! Love y'all!

Why do we all love to know what ya eat....well I think it helps us who are trying to eat more plant base but our house size Pantry's still have food we shouldn't eat or buy in the first place. Dave’s is indeed the best bread available at the standard supermarket, unless you go for Ezekiel bread made without flour - look in the frozen food case for Ezekiel bread. And then there is sourdough, immensely good for your ‘microbiome’....

    I've been trying to figure out ways to use these dates I have up (I bought them intending to experiment with them while making some different types of "milk"... but that's not happening any time soon apparently😁🤗) I have all the ingredients used in your little date sandwich!😉 I shall try that out this morning perhaps!!😄 Great video as always!!! I'm even watching a second time because I was writing this comment and didn't fully get to watch everything the first time around!💓💓💓

      What kind of milk were you trying to make!? That’s a great idea to sweeten it with dates! I’ve made almond milk before. Pretty easy and DELICIOUS when homemade.

      Elsa Rhae I've mainly been trying with rice actually, but messing around with peanuts and oats as well! I want to try with almonds soon but I had the peanuts on hand so I figured I might as well try it out with those too🤗😁
