Just watching as a reminder (done driver's door a few years ago - now passenger door has gone) for 2005 Allroad. Think I removed/installed the motor when the cartridge was in the door though. Much appreciated. Thanks.
Just another thanks for making this. It was spot on for my 2001 a6 quattro. i have found some very helpful videos on UA-cam, but this was among the very best. Thanks, again.
This was a brilliant help! I was under the impression that Audi did all of their windows the same....but these are NOTHING like the glass in the newer RS models! THANKS!
Excellent and helpful video thank you. I bought the same kit as you but didn’t know until I opened it up that there were no rivets included! I got the ones you said from Amazon, 4.8 x 20mm, and all went well.
mmmm. . . . Less trips to MC Ds would of been a cheaper option. . . Also I have an 04 vintage ford focus estate. . Never had any problems with ANY of the door mechanisms. . . Lesson to be learnt. . Fewer junk meals .. bye a Ford . . Always a pleasure to help Ratchet Ronny 🤠
Thank you for the video and all the C5 content. I had a mechanic remove my panels to check the regulators. When I collected the car, three of the windows had vertical scratches in the windows which weren't there before. Any idea how this could have happened? I don't want to bring it back to him to replace the regulators without knowing how to avoid this happening in the process? Hoping your experience you would know where this might have happened. Thank you!
There shouldn't be anywhere the glass will touch anything sharp if all is assembled properly, there are felt strips where it comes out of the door card. Sound like somethings not sitting right. See if you can work out if the scratches are on the inside or outside then see what that area lines up with on my video. Good luck.
Like I said in my previous reply a couple of weeks ago to your video, I went ahead and started my window regulator replacement next day. Everything went smoothly UNTIL: 1) No rivets of the specified metric size were included in the after market regulator kit. The actual specified 4.8 mm OD equals 3/16", but the specified length I got by cutting longer ones down. 2) I started to mount the regulator and I found the cable to be too short to mount the fourth pulley correctly to the remaining original rivet hole in the frame. 3) Because I started to mount the bottom rivets first, the top two rivets are pigeon toed. The result is that the glass jams about half way up. Ideally, the existing rivet holes should hold the regulator rails parallel. BTW I did mark the plastic glass clips also before opening them. So my questions are: 1) Should the regulator rivets holes align the new frame to the rail holes without exertion (fighting the fit)? 2) Is the after market regulator defective (cable too short) or incorrectly drilled & mounted cable pulleys? 3) Should I be mounting the rail rivets in a different order (i.e. top two first)? 4) I’m prepared to get a new different regulator and start again. Knowing that most OEMs are in fact aftermarket vendors too, so which regulator would you recommend as a reliable fit besides the over priced Audi branded ones?
Hi Frank, it sounds like you have the wrong regulator, or a defective part. Mine just laid on the frame and all the holes lined up the 4 corners straight away nice and flat, no force required.
@@SuperRon Thanks for the super fast reply, Ron. If you are in the UK you are answering questions in the middle of the night. Wow! That's why you are Super Ron.
Thank you, and it's nice to see a c5 still running in mint condition. - I have the same issue with my driver's side door. I ordered the part under the brand uro, which cost me about US$50. May I know what kind of bit did you use to drill the rivets?
The size of the drill is not so important as you're only drilling off the head of the rivet, then what's left just pushes through, or pulls through with pliers. If you drill all the way through you run the risk of making the hole too big for the new rivet.
@@SuperRon I managed to do this today, the only difference I would mention in this video is to get a rivet that is longer than 20mm to hold the assembly. Other than that, the job went surprisingly smoothly. This video was definitely helpful. My car was a 1999 A6 C5 1.8T Sedan (APU Engine Type)
Great video, clearly explained instructions, thank you. Took me no time at all to replace the regulator on my S6.
Thanks for watching 😁
Your video is the best I've found so far on this topic. Thank you very much for that and keep up the good work!😊👍🏻
I'm glad it helped, thanks for watching 😁
Thanks for uploading this.
Ive watched a few other videos on how to do it but none have made it so easy to understand as yours. Thanks again.
Awesome! Glad the video was of help 😁

Fantastic 😁 I'm glad it was useful, thanks for watching
Superb video , all info clearly spoken all tips easy to understand
Thanks for watching 😁
Thanks for video! Let's show at the next video engine unplug! 🤓 It's mostly useful operation for Rs6 c5 owners!
If I ever have to do it (hopefully not) I will ofcourse film it 👍 thanks for watching 😁
Very nice video. Everything clearly shown and explained. I'm doing my '02 A6 Avant tomorrow morning. Thanks for posting this.
Thanks for watching, glad it has been helpful 😎
Great video. Like someone else said i would prefare myself than using the rivet gun. Just a nut and bolt job to tighten the regulator to frame 👍

Thanks for tuning in again Hams! I can't keep this figure of mine on fruit and veg though!

@@SuperRon thank-you, the mechanic mentioned making window adjustment (4:34) so i wonder if he has done it too tight

Nice vid, by any chance do you have a c20xe engine for sale ?
I've got a few, but none for sale sorry.
is there any difference in the saloon and the avant
I don't believe so, but I haven't worked on a saloon myself.
was exactly the same . Great video nice and easy . done mine within 40min 👏👏👏👏👏👏thank you Ron
Great news, glad the video was helpful 😁
Can you make rear window video?
If my rear one ever fails I will film it 👍
У кого нет заклёпочника. Вместо заклёпок можно использовать болты и гайки посадить на локтайд
Excellent
