I would like to learn how you create that hole for the HDMI cable and where that cable end up and how you did in the ceiling to get it to your destination spot.
You sir , are a life saver. I was racking my brains why one side of my screen wasn't straight and was getting the trapezoid effect. I measured the centre of the screen redone the projector mount position and now is all good. So many videos out there not explaining this and that's like a crucial part. Many thanks
I picked up a nice used Epson Powerlite 2040 projector to start showing DVDs and Blu ray discs... but I couldn't find any instructions from Epson as to how to ceiling mount the projector. Your video showed me that research and planning are key to a successful ceiling mount. I compliment you on your well done video, which was properly photographed and nicely edited. Thank you, Chad.
It would be nice to buy a mount that has a rail so the projector can be moved closer/away from the screen by a few inches (so I don't have to use zoom) also in case you change projector & it has slightly different throw ratio ? It would also make install a lot easier as your measurements from the screen don't need to be perfect - just fine tune forward/back on the rail to get it spot on 👍 I have the Anker Nebula Max projector with ceiling mount - haven't mounted it yet because I'm looking for a more flexible solution ?
This projector gets the job done pretty well. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxS9P8zTOcmQg-hH0QeUi3dspOLyYgQ6dH Bear in mind it's a mini projector but all things considered the picture quality is pretty good. The attached photo is of the projector projecting onto my white closet doors. I still have not messed with the settings but I can't wait for our first family movie night on a larger scale. If you have issues with volume not working with your firestick, go into volume settings and you will find your solution there.
Hello, I basically just glued up random sizes of 2 by 4s that I cut up...Really easy to do. Here is a link to a video I did doing something like that. ua-cam.com/video/GOvqfNGF5Rk/v-deo.html
Agreed...they DO look cool. I followed the link that Chad left under this comment that goes to another video to show how he made those panels, but then I hit the back button to come back to it so that I could make this comment and Chad's comment was gone.😟
grade set up the problem is with mine I can't keep to projector straight it's like the projector is loose in the image falls down if that makes sense when I lift it up with my hands and position it correctly it's there but I don't know what to tighten to make the image stay in place so that the image will be even with my screen any ideas?? I've tighten the bolts on the mount as much as I can it's still not working not sure why any ideas thanks for your help
Hi, im new to this projector, i have a epson projector, but it looks like all the brackets attatch on the bottom of the projector, so is there a way of flipping the screen upside down or is it automatic ? Thanks John
Hi john l, in the settings of the projector menu you can do this. I think my setting was listed as "Ceiling mount" ...some might be automatic as well...good luck!
My setup was screwing plywood to the studs. Then I mounted the projector to the plywood. I guess I would be a little nervous just mounting it to drywall.
I have an Optoma GT 1080e. I saw from your great video that you affixed the mount to the underside of your projector, so am I right that the picture can be inverted on the screen?
Hi George, You are correct. There is a setting on the projector were you can choice to Ceiling Mount it and it flips the image. I think almost all projectors have this ability, so I am sure your Optoma GT can do it as well!
I can't remember exactly what the distance was, but each projector will be different. You can find projector calculators online that will help you out for your set up....good luck!
Hello Yianni Ellis, One side of my basement had an unfinished ceiling. So I was able to run the cable the long way in between two joist. If your ceiling is completely finished, you might have to cut a few holes in the drywall and then patch them after the cable is run.
I have a question. When we mount near ceiling, we have to tilt the projector so that the image is on the screen. Will it affect picture quality as opposed to placing the projector lower down at the level of center of the screen?
Hello, With most projectors there is what I think is a "keystone" feature which will correct a a tilted image. This way you don't have to worry about the projector being mounted in the center.
Sorry, I did skim over that part. If you look closing you can see where I have pocket holes drilled in the plywood. I then screwed the plywood to each joist. Thanks for the comment!
"less than an hour to mount it to the ceiling" yeah and another 4 or 5 to get up into the attack, run the wires, install a ceiling mounted wall plug, install a ceiling mounter hdmi port, etc. not as simple as he makes it sound.
Anyone else thinks this guy speaks a bit strangely? Especially saying "Always" "Mount" "Out" And a few other words? Informative video, though. I'm not sure how many of us have access to above our ceilings, though.

True
@sumdyude center of the screen from side to side not top to bottom. Seems obvious but never know how some people perceive things

This is a great idea! It would make it so much easier to adjust things and and a different projector in the future!
What is the make and model of the projector?

It sure is!
Did the projector have Existing holes in it . Purchased a universal wall mount. But it has no holes so its up side down. What can i use to make it work.
All projectors are mounted upside down. There is an option in the projector menu that lets you switch the image for ceiling mounted...hope that helps!
This is AWESOME. Thank you so much.
You're very welcome!
What is the mount you used in this video?

How did you install the 2 brick looking panels on either side of the screen? They look cool

It sounds like it is a problem with your mount. Here is the affiliate link to the one I have amzn.to/2h57WMN . It has held great for me!

Hi john l, in the settings of the projector menu you can do this. I think my setting was listed as "Ceiling mount" ...some might be automatic as well...good luck!
I would not sit under a projector that was not installed into a stud. Was large was plywood ?
My setup was screwing plywood to the studs. Then I mounted the projector to the plywood. I guess I would be a little nervous just mounting it to drywall.
can you use less brackets? I have low ceilings and don't want it to hang too low
I am guessing there are low profile brackets that you can buy online to get the projector closer to the ceiling...Good Luck!
Hi and thanks for the video. Did you have to apply a vertical offset between the projector's lens and top of your screen?
Hi Marcone....I am not really sure what you mean be vertical offset, sorry.
hey Chad for 135 inch screen how far should i go using benq 2150st projector?
@@chaddiy3512 Maybe he means some vertical keystone correction ?
Just Lock & Go

Yes George 100% it will work
hello, can u please tell me what is the distance between projector and screen ......
I can't remember exactly what the distance was, but each projector will be different. You can find projector calculators online that will help you out for your set up....good luck!
am i the only one using 2 drywall screws with a benq 2050, any thought?
How's that been working for you? I need to do the same. You have it in the ceiling using just the dry wall, no studs?
Very clean set up. Nicely explained. Well done!
Thanks!
Nice
Looks nice. How did you run your hdmi cable through the ceiling?
Hello Yianni Ellis, One side of my basement had an unfinished ceiling. So I was able to run the cable the long way in between two joist. If your ceiling is completely finished, you might have to cut a few holes in the drywall and then patch them after the cable is run.
nicely done!
Where does the HDMI cable go?
Hello! I have the HDMI cable running through the ceiling from the projector to my surround sound that is below the projector screen.
@@chaddiy3512 How long is your HDMI cable? Thanks.

Jaja I just sold my 900 dollar projector for 150 I got it last year and never use it, I don't even know why I am watching this lol.
I don't know why I watch most things I do on youtube:)
Great Work !!
Thanks!
what type of screen is that
Here is a link to how I made it. ua-cam.com/video/EQSuSZ2Rnpk/v-deo.html
Did you just set the plywood on top of the drywall in between the joists? Don't see whereyoucould have put screws. You kinda skimmed over that part.
Sorry, I did skim over that part. If you look closing you can see where I have pocket holes drilled in the plywood. I then screwed the plywood to each joist. Thanks for the comment!
what size is your screen?
I have this projecting on a 100 inch screen.
Next up - How to cook this pre prepared ready meal
Ha ha...that's exactly how it feels
what did the vid really show? screwing a mount in the ceiling. big deal. what about the outlet and hdmi receptacle?
why is that barn door there??!
Hello M V, The barn door is in front of a closet
So if I want to connect my ps4 pro onto the projector it self I need to leave my ps4 pro up there? Lol
That's one way to do it, ha! I chose to just run a HDMI to my entertainment center below my screen...a little easier that way :)
I can't believe someone actually asked this
do you have your HDMI connected to cable ?
I have the HDMI cable going from the projector to a receiver. Then I run everything like cable and blu ray to the receiver.
don't forget to use roundels with the mount boyz & girlz
Wwoowww I so want to do this!!!
You should go for it!
"less than an hour to mount it to the ceiling" yeah and another 4 or 5 to get up into the attack, run the wires, install a ceiling mounted wall plug, install a ceiling mounter hdmi port, etc. not as simple as he makes it sound.
Nice job! It would not be fun if your projector fell off the ceiling on your head..
this is so complex
whats the point of even buying a tv
I know right!
