Nice DIY implementation for only $100. I'm thinking about making a projection screen for backing a live band and allowing me to have all sorts of cool video projected as a backdrop. You've given me some good ideas. Thanks!
1 $10 bedsheet from publix 2 Two 1'2' x (like) 10' boards --one for the top and one for the bottom 3 Ten screws, five on each, evenly spaced --drilled in but not penetrating the wood while stretching the sheet without wrinkles 4 Four staples via staple gun on the ends --Wall fixed by fastening the predrilled screws Cost me $10. Worked perfectly. After a year I switched it our for an 'Elite Screen'
Thank you I was needing some idea for my family reunion. We're camping under the stars in west texas and was gonna drape a white between two 30 ft trees and 20ft wide by 20.
This is awesome because I'm currently creating a summer movie night under the stars outside for the elderly and disabled in my community !!!! I want them well us to experience something other than sitting in these apartments waiting to die !!! Everyone loves the idea ! And I have millions more !!!
I bought 4 yards of white heavy duty Lycra 4 way stretch (36" x 62" per yard) stretched out per yard (72" x 124") all 4 yards total stretch (144" x 248" )(12' x 20' ) off eBay for 7 bucks a yard and works great. I use mine for rear projection with a 2000 Lumen projector and because its heavy duty you do not see the light from the projector. It is bright and clear.. If this helps anyone..
@@codeykamal5337 I do not, my Ebay records don't go back that far just search "white heavy duty Lycra 4 way stretch" request samples that's what I did ... oh (VJTCI here)
Cool thing is, it'll save you money from not having to buy costumes come Halloween, when you throw it over the whole family and pretend you're a giant ghost!
Or... You could just buy a shower curtain or two (depending on you're tastes in picture quality), and some paracord from you're local dollar store, and then tie them together and put them on the wall. But hey, maybe you want to spend 50$-100$.
You absolutely need to eliminate every single ripple otherwise on panning shots you will see the picture wobble over them - trust me it's really really noticeable and annoying
he almost got it correct DON'T try to sew (or tape the material togeather ) yourself it is a tricky material to work with if you are not accustom to working with spandex rose brand has an awesome custom sewing department CALL them and have them put ties and grommets all the way around the Tendo material ( or pipe pockets if you can hang it ) and then streach it over a frame of 2" schedule 40 pipe it will look a hell of a lot better than that ( I just set up 2 for an event that was 25ft tall and 150ft wide and took 5 massive 20,000 lumen projectors to fill the width of the screen ) and the 3750 square feet of projection surface looked amazeing
Ive made an entire wall in my house a projection screen and use my home made projector it cost me £9.89 or something like $14 Its really cheap and good i use a magnifying glass covering the hole on one side of a shoebox use blue tac to stick my phone inside on the other side of the shoebox with the screen locked upside down to project it the right way up a £8 great bluetooth speaker to not constantly have to hear buzzing from the shoebox and i use my wall to project onto the sound is surprisingly loud and the screen is obviously adjustable so i cant really say how big it is the downside is that the phone might fall the quality isn't that good but what do you expect and you can only use devices like tablets phones and laptops a tv would be risky though you would beed a really big box and make sure it doesn't fall
I am too cheap to buy anything. I got a free HD video projector (with 6 spare bulbs) that is so awesome, but a single king size sheet is not big enough for the backyard movies, hung on clothes line between two 10 foot ladders. Where can I get a few white sheets for free so I can sew them together? I need at least 12 feet wide.
Call Carls screen he will hook you throw that piping and spandex in the trash or go on amazon you can get a 100 inch screen for 50 and a 120 for 70.lows sell 1x2's 3 dollars a piece only need 5 for a good sturdy screen
The design is very nice. BUT I would have gone with thicker PVC piping. 1 1/2 inches minimum. PVC that thin will bend with slight wind. And if you don't glue it, it'll just come apart.

I used the back side of a piece of leftover White rolled Roofing on a wooden frame turned out beautiful no glare great contrast
Bought a 120" motorized screen for $120 on sale at Costco last year, shipped to my door. Still yours is cool, mad props D!
Thank you for the info.
I like this. I'm a DIY'er too and this is a really helpful video!
Innovative and clever! Thanks for the great idea :)

Elite screen as in store bought?
@@johndor7793 Yeah. Through the company.
So how much better was the elite screen? Also how much did you spend for the elite screen?

I know amazon has inflatable one for cheaper
@@justintomerlin Inflatable, whaaaat????
i bought my 120 inch for $129 and it came with a stand. i put grommets in the screen part and hang it on the wall for at home use.
I saw one in amazon $60 with stand foldable like you are carrying a tube
Just buy white gift wrap at $2 per tube 🤣
Donald your awesome, Thank you..
Is the spandex the best material to use for the best quality over all others?
Please how do you turn the image correct way up on the screen with a ceiling fitting on to your projector??? Please Tom
Does this acoustically transparent? I like to put my speakers behind the screen..
Recorded with tomato?
because of it letting dome light thru the double layer reflects some light back and makes light spots a bit blurry
Great job !
hi what kind of back projector do you recommend?
i was just setting up a home theater wow you are reading my mind
Finally a DIY that isn't basic. :D
Yap... wall is good and free, thank you.

For $75 I got a pull down projection screen with a great matte white screen and black surround off of amazon, with free shipping.
I like donald bell doing these how to's keep them up.
3M spray glue and small reflective glass beads might help.
Bro tip: Nothing better than watching movies on neighbour's house. 5,5 meter screen FTW.
where did you get the poles
this is actually awesome simplicity
very cool! thanks alot
I have simple white clothe I used it to white wall good result
How about buying a black sheet and hanging that behind the white screen.

I wonder how that would do outside in humid and wet Florida?
Dude, sweet!
favorite!
Right on!

Very nice
i would use the same idea for a green screen
For "JUST" $100.00 I felt that 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What is the cloth material?
Por favor pongan subtítulos, medidas y lista de materiales.
How about black Spandex?
I like the idea, but you can buy portable screens like this now for 100 dollars or less online.
Can you use a white sheet
My projector at home seems fine alone with my wall
Thats cool.

I want to do something similar.. Minus the center bar because I want to back light it
From experience... if you don't want to use the center support bar, you might want to use EMT instead of PVC.
spandex... what now? how about the clouds, lol
This is more of a how not to

A painters dust sheet is one option, Can paint it white and should keep the paint on it without cracking, they are made in huge sizes.
Thanks
WTF????
This is best done in a Rick and Morty voice. Good material.
Like that
dude . . . sewing is so easy 😳
Why don't you just buy a screen on monoprice ?
This is a bad idea sorry. It's expensive, time consuming and doesn't even look good
its not much bright need to apply some changes.

Looks like you used a $39 projector!
if I wanted to spend 100 dollars on a screen I would go on Amazon and do so.
Nikka must be high. Stoned looking a movies on a cheap ass screen probably gonna fall apart when the movie starts getting good.
Why are you watching Jurassic Park 3? Crime against humanity.
for 100 dollars you can buy a remote control 120" projection screen off amazon :/

i like your think young rea... o k that's to long to say
How did he fold 2 yards in half, and still have almost 6' height on screen. ??
Yes, I have the same question, Is 1 yard = 122"x72" or 122"x36"??
The design is very nice. BUT I would have gone with thicker PVC piping. 1 1/2 inches minimum. PVC that thin will bend with slight wind. And if you don't glue it, it'll just come apart.
Looks like shit. Might as well use a white wall.
bought same stuff and am facing that issue. looks utter shit. took it off and id rather deal with the bumps and smudges on my wall than the fabric.
+Tony C Yeah it's not worth it. You can get an actual screen for like $250. Won't be the top of the line but will be 30x better than this junk.
+shade231 dude im with u id go crazy thinking about all those pipes and ripples. this is not solid at all
Can still see the wrinkle, and NO, spandex is NOT that great.
Used it before, same look as if used bare wall.
