I think it's worth mentioning that HDMI cable will only work effectively up to a certain distance. I learnt this the hard way in my previous property where I installed a 15 metre HDMI cable into the wall and found that on certain sources it wouldn't transmit. For longer runs between the projector and AV system (more than 5 - 10 metres), you will need to consider an HDMI - Cat 5e / 6 balun. This will provide a more reliable signal.
you prolly dont care but if you're stoned like me atm then you can stream all of the new movies on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend these days xD
Is it a good idea if I mount the projector on the ceiling and put the apple tv on the projector? Or I have to buy a long hdmi cable to connect the projector to the hdmi on the groud? or I should put projector and apple tv on a wall shelf?
You probably want the Apple TV in a position that there won’t be any signal interference. Also it would be a pain to have to climb up to the projector every time you had to reset the apple tv.
Any idea on whether I can use a 4 screw mount with a vankyo 450? Only see one hole. I'd like it to be as stable as possible. Are the 4 rubber footing areas on the bottom suitable for mounting?
Are there screw holes specifically for ceiling mounts on the projector or are you screwing into the frame ? Just bought a mini but there are no screw holes other than the tripd stand screw hole and if I undo the height raising screw theres another but not exactly adequate to put on a ceiling mount. Another have a Mini projector out there ? Mine is the Dr J.
@@orchidotaku I just got a piece of wood, attached that to the mount, another peice of wood below that attached by some bars on each corner and sat the projector in the little box it made
So is acer a good brand do you recommend using this projector or a different brand? And does the projector screen comes with it or you hit separate? About how much does it cost to buy this equipment an estimate thanks!
Teresa Rice IMO, Epson is better. You'd have to buy the screen separately - should cost you around $150-$200 for a remote controlled screen. The mounts are usually cheap, coming in for around $40-$50.
Most projectord can flip the image from the settings. So upside down is certainly possible. Some projectors can also mirror the image in case you are projecting behind the screen.
To be honest, I've never had issues using HDMI nr other cables, but I did have a BD and if the temp probe and thermometer probe were too close it would affect temp readings
nice easy video with some really stupid comments below like how did you hide the cables behind it. its like a foot away from the wall unless you stand under it and look up how would you see them? for people renting use a tall bookcase instead of a ceiling mount and it will hide the cables. for long distance signal use a cat 5e /6 converter. I have pet rats and was going to shelf install but didnt like the trunking down the wall so i will ceiling mount close to the wall then run nice trunking along to a tall bookcase to house the ps4 android box and hta9 receiver. then run the cable down the side of the bookcase that cant be seen to the plug
Anyone know where I can find a living room that perfect 😂... I'm telling you. I'm better off taking a miter saw to my walls and plastering over where the wires went. After the paint job it'll look like Jesus put this theater in.
And you left out the most important part about how to hide the wires along the ceiling. You didnt even expose the area behind the projector for us to figure it out ourselves! Typical Limey, hiding his screwups so the next guy has to fix them.
Very misleading and with a very dangerous "advice". You can't just screw attach projector mount to the ceiling, as most ceiling substrates are gypsum drywall. The projector can simply fall down your head someday. You literally have no idea what you are talking about yet you make such irresponsible videos.
This is hilarious. I guess it assumes the projector power cable is 20+ feet which would be a code violation. Also you have a raised floor on what looks to be a 100 year old private residence??? Is there a server room nearby. This video lacks some serious details. But I suppose once Acer sold a projector they are done with the transactions. 🤣🤣🤣

your comment is a life saver, Im running a project with more than 5m
You would probably need to extend with an ethernet cable and convertor.
Even cleaner, use a Chromecast powered by the projector and take the power cable in to the ceiling and plug in upstairs.
Why am I watching this when I don’t even own a projector?
Because you desire to have a home theater?
you prolly dont care but if you're stoned like me atm then you can stream all of the new movies on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend these days xD
@Jasper Cash definitely, been using InstaFlixxer for since december myself :D
@Jasper Cash yup, have been using instaflixxer for years myself :D
It was in late night so
How wide are your joists? I can only get two screws into the joist.
Do you have a link for the ceiling mount?

Great video..likes from kerala india..
Thank you so much 🙂

Any thoughts on exposed beams?
John Martinez yes. Some.
What to do with the giant power brick the projector came with?
What if my ceiling is sloped across? The stand will be bent. Can I then adjust it sideways?
which ceiling mount did you use?
Thanks for that tip
Thanks Warner
No worries. Any more diy projects in the pipeline?

Quede impactado por la calidad e imagen para ser un mini proyector portatil
Thank you for this howTo video. What if your ceiling is not wooden but made of plastered cement? How do we go about that?
You can drill it with a diamond drill tip
They cost close to 15 dollars usually
great job, looking forward to installing mine now :)
1:19 When you say solid sound, you mean non echo-y?
What an awesome projector I was going to get that
It is good - I love it!
Glad I got a Sony projector muahaha!
1:30 the projector I got doesn't have mount holes...
Neither does mine... what do we do
@@orchidotaku I just got a piece of wood, attached that to the mount, another peice of wood below that attached by some bars on each corner and sat the projector in the little box it made
What the projector have you used
3:40 Finished look with no cables shown, you are checking my brain. At least from window to projector had to show some cable.
Did you buy another cable??? Your cable look very long. Because my cable of that projector is short.
I'm looking this up because I don't see any holes on my projector...
Will the movie also upside down since the projector mount upside down?any body can advise
Thinking the exact same thing - i want to buy a projector but i need to do this
No. Projectors generally have a sensor to known whether it's upside down. Then it'll flip the image.
@@WarrenNash Thank you so much!!!

Perfect
Can’t see where the cable connects to projector!
Why doesn't my projector have holes to mount...
Thank a lot !!!!!!!
Didn't mention anything about running power and HDMI cables side by side. I've read on the AVForums that this is a very bad idea.
I dont that's an issue is it?
@@WarrenNash maybe electrical interferecance?
I mean, it wasn't an issue for me, so it should be OK.

Just to add HDMI cables SHOULD have shielding In them
Why did you remove the lamp?
does anyone know what projector he is using?
It's an Acer V7500
@@WarrenNash around how much is it? Do you know ?
@@Aaron-tb9jc google it
wont the movie be upside down?
Just buy an ultra short throw..no trunking at all.
It's the 'wait for the sun to go down' comment that puts me off buying a projector, even more than trying to hide the cabling.
Just get some dark curtains

I thought i read "without mount and hidden wires"
I’m an electrician thank the lord I don’t need to do this.
I only pullout my Epson 2250 projector to watch blockbuster movies, maybe twice a month..
my living room shape is the same as yours
I also has projector epson
Great, that should work with this method of ceiling mounting.
My projector does not have a mount
You can buy universal mounts to fit most projectors.
Good thing mine dosent need cables
still think go on ceiling can make socket stronger and hide wire better
Great job. I just don’t understand the 106 people who disliked this video. Very helpful video . 👌🏻
they are all gone now..
Easy, he never shows the back of the projector where obviously you see the cables...
Use your knuckles till you hear a solid sound? Seriously?
Won't the picture be upside down if you screw it to the bottom? Lol
Nope, projectors nowadays sense if upside down and they'll rotate the picture.
if you have a popcorn ceiling like that, don't touch it, don't drill it!!
There was a wooden beam underneath so it was fine to drill.
HAPPY?
I am, are you?

acer makes projectors? lol

Any good quality projector should give you the option to flip the image.
Well of course it did💀 Its not auto rotate like a phone
