This was the soundtrack to my teenage years in 1986 (I'm 52 now). One memory I had during this compilation is when I bought Destruction's Eternal Devastation, I blasted "Curse The Gods" while wearing headphones REALLY LOUD. I'm surprised I didn't blow out my ear drums.
Onslaught one of the most underrated BUT one of the best thrash metal bands of all time, especially the Force and Power from hell albums. Awesome albums 👍 Awesome work by You Sir. 👌👌👌
Oh yah, Postmortem; one of the most relentless, ferocious songs ever constructed. It shares this category with other songs like Disposable Heroes, Devil’s Island, and D.N.R.💪🏻🤘🏻
Maybe it's me being a lifelong Slayer fan. But they're stuff just sounds so dark and aggressive compared to the others. Not to take anything away from them. All great songs and artists. But there just won't ever be another Slayer. Since day one hearing them (36yrs) they've checked all the boxes. Sure miss them and Jeff. You done all the artists justice on this, completely smashed it!!!!
THIS is why I love this channel. Absolutely shredding the classics while contrasting them against a bunch of stuff I haven't heard. Fantastic content, keep it up, man!
I got to see the Big 4 in Indio California back in 2011, Jeff Hanneman's last performance with Slayer, I have vids on my channel from that show and other Slayer shows including their Final Tour, This battle is EPIC! Thanks man, This is KILLER!
Once upon a time, and it was only a few years ago, I didn't quite understand how it was possible to listen to this kind of music and enjoy it. Then one of my son's friends made me listen to Reign in Blood. To my own surprise I suddenly became able to appreciate the sheer beauty and complexity of Metal. Glorious! You're a very skilled guitarist, and I enjoy your channel very much.
Amazing man. Back in these days when 99% of these bands had their own style and riffs. Listen to 'all new metal, nowadays on spotify. All the same production, style. Riffs? Slayer rules. Hanneman is the riffmeister. Mosh.
Nicht viele Gitarristen können es auch nur annähernd mit Jeff aufnehmen. Er war ein reines Metal-Genie und wird für immer seinen Platz unter den Sternen haben. Es lebe SLAYER. Greetings from Poland
Proper headbanging as well!!!!! HANNEMANN would be proud, sir!!!!!! Sehr gute video, Suffo! Sums up me fav bands with Slayer on top!!!!! But....... I would like to hear your take on Destruction's Bestial Invation! That was my downfall into Thrash, Speed metal and Mayhem. What a masterpiece that is!!!!! Sehr, sehr gut!!!!!
Great job as usually, man!🍺 Reign in Blood is the best thrash metal album ever!😍🔥 "Opponents" choice is cool too.👍 Wanna see Slayer VS Dark Angel riff battle 👊
Dude, I absolutely love your content! Slayer has always been my favorite, and probably always will be, with the exception of some old Pantera. You actually give me some tips sometimes though. I'm like ohhh that's _up here_ not DOWN THERE! 🤣🤣🤣🤘🤘🤘
its nice to see Nuclear Assault get a mention, Rign In Blood was one of my favorite albums back in high school "86-90" but Nuclear Assault were my favorite band. also "The Thing That Should Not Be" i always think is Metallicas most under appreciated song. the riff in "Raining Blood" and "Angel Of Death" are both just about unbeatable but i have always LOVED the "Postmortem" riff.
I heard Possessed earlier, obviously, but that album really got stuck into my brain. I might have been stoned a lot, lol, but it took me to a crazy powerful place. I never grooved to Death until Symbolic, so?? Then metal evolved, tons of bands etc. and limitless.
Nice one, the Slayer riffs contrast nicely with all of the other styles and really hold up. They're one of those bands who you know who it is as soon as you hear it. That said that first Angel Dust SMOKES! Physical copies of that album are rare, expensive, and hard to find.
Dude I rarely comment on anything these days but man you just literally played my playlist through out my teenage high school/ college years lol fucking great times. Glad you’re keeping these riffs alive!! An Annihilator or Artillery riff would’ve been great in there but man you hit it out of the park. 🤘🏼
Reing in blood riffs are hard to fight hahah gg! Good riffs chosen from Kreator, Metallica, Onslaught and Nuclear Assault and fucking Destruction was the most hard 2 fight!
🤘Thanks Bro for playing All my FAVORITE Band🤘 I 🖤🖤🖤🖤 Thrash/Doom/Black/Death Metal🤘 My Request next SLAMMER, ATROPHY, HOLLY MOSES, ANACRUSIS.. ⚰RIP JEFF HANNEMAN ⚰
Sometimes I forget how F_K_N monumental the entire Reign in Blood LP is, not one song that isn't great! I guess that is why it is clearly the greatest Thrash Metal Album of all time.
Another great vid from the master of metal, thank you for bringing great songs and awesome memories of metal days and nights of my life. Keep em coming my metal brother 🤘❤️🤘
That were great thrash riffs. I grew up with ha! Still the best there is I think. You can play man. And Mike the guitarist of Destruction was on to something on the first two albums. At one second you know it was his riff. Somehow I revisit this once in a while. Slayerrrr
Jeff Hanneman, James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine, Scott Ian, Gary Holt, and Max Cavalera are amongst the greatest Thrash Riff Writers of all time.
Without any of them, I wouldn’t have picked up the guitar for sure. Also Pat O’Brian was another massive inspiration for me
You are both absolutely 💯 percent correct. Thank god for all of those great guitar players that shaped our lives and our ears 🔥🤘🎃🤘🔥
As well as Alex Skolnick
@@ImTheMetalManiac agree, but I believe Eric Peterson is Testament’s main songwriter.
No Millie Petrozza mention?
R.I.P. Jeff Hanneman !!

Legend.
\m/ Indeed - nice tribute ending of your video
Never be forgotten. Fuckin’ Slayer!
for me live forever 🤘🤘
Man, this was awesome! And that tribute to Jeff... You rock!
STILL Reigning 🤘🍻

Same mate. In 50. Grew up on these bands.
Loved Eternal Devastation!
Same here.
Same same 🤘🍺🤘

Thanks for adding Nuclear Assault. Always thought they were under-rated and never got the credit they deserved...
they are so underrated man. handle with care is an incredible thrash album
@@brianthiebold got to see them live around '93 in Fresno Ca. \m/
For sure.. they were so ahead of their time in lyrical content and their riffs were definitely up to par with the greats

Postmortem riff is incredible. Best moment on the album
Exumer... The most underrated band of the set.. They did a lot of good riffs
Yes, even though the riff here was very basic.
Exumer one of the best trash metal bands in 80´

LOOK AT THAT MAJESTIC HAIR FAM😎🔥🤘🏻, after this you know I had to learn all them slayer riffs you played, it's hard not to headbang to em
So nice to hear Nuclear Assault and Kreator and Dark Angel!
All made great songs on their Albums … but Slayer made a whole great Album 📔

How about Slayer vs Deicide? That'd be awesome. Reign in blood vs Legion, South of Heaven vs Once Upon the Cross.🤘🏾🎸
I've always classed Legion as the Reign In Blood of Death Metal.

Great picks! Nuclear Assault and Exumer tend to be left out of most 1986 album discussions for some strange reason so I'm glad to see them here🤘
my guitar riffing has improved so much watching Suffocater over the years, thanks so much!
Haven't heard Exumer for decades, tnx bro! 🤘🤘🤘🍻
I appreciate the Onslaught inclusion, especially since you used my favorite song of theirs
I love Kreator. And they are still so damn good. Their latest album is mint!

Thanks for Angel Dust!!! Into the Dark Past has some of the best riffs ever and rarely gets a mention 👍👍
there is not a single bad riff!!!. They are all great. One of my favorite Slayer riffs is Postmortem!!!
Postmortem and Raining blood, the best back to back songs in Thrash history!
It could’ve been one song. And Postmortem is probably my favorite Slayer song.
Would LOVE to see Symphonies of Sickness (album) vs other goregrind groups!! Loved this video
You checked my Carcass battle ?
symphonnies could be classed as a death grind album tho. reek was the only purely grind album they recorded.
