Had I not switched to the SC2 Pro from the DD2 almost 3 years ago. It would have cost me over $1300 to upgrade my wheels to proper QRs. The QR was the reason I switched. Bless the affordability of the HRS XeroPlay.
I think the pro is absurdly overpriced, but the other ones seem to be where they need to be. I've been holding out on getting a new wheel hoping that they would release this so now I think I can make the switch. Hopefully the pump out an updated v3 pedal soon. If not I may end up snagging the p1000s.
It's double the price of a QR! mate. So you don't need a securing bolt. For DD1s or DD2s maybe but I personally see no massive advantage. Not at those prices. Long term with constant wheel changes and fatigue on the pins will be interesting. I'm sure they run a huge amount of testing themselves.
If they could make a sprints'esque pedal that'd be great but fundamentally the v3 is a floor pedal in design, so it'd be another concurrent line rather than updated v3's i think. Speaking as somebody who went csl->v3->sprints.
They pulled some shady shit with the CSL Elite pedals already. For almost 2 years the loadcell brake was "discontinued" then they released the new Elites with the loadcell attached (and not offering it separately) fucking anyone who bought the 2 pedal without the loadcell in the process.
4:35 to be fair to the quick release it looks like the flex is actually coming from the wheel rim itself and from somewhere inside the wheel base, the connection point between the wheel and the shaft itself looked completely solid.
The cheapest one doesnt seem to have flex, it was the rim itself flexing hard. While overall the middle of the price is the best for price. The cheap one is perfect for the cheap bundles Fanatec provides.
Its criminally disrespectful to be selling something for a high price, whereas the competition like Moza offer it on the cheapest wheels and wheelbases. Thanks Fanatec for the extra cost 🥲
It would be good if they had stock. They must have given most of their supply to UA-camrs like yourself. Good work, Fanatec! Saturate socials with a product you don't have the means to supply
I think this is a good update to compete against MOZA and Simagic. Now, they need a truly premium option to compete in the brake space as a $500 option that is Heusinkveld Sprint quality and console compatible is certainly needed.
X for doubt. D1 is the most used and know QR system in real cars. Hard to beat it when its been developed and existed for a really long time and being Simagic is partnered with FD having a QR system commonly used in Track and drift cars its obviously good enough for a sim if not overkill. I find most these sim companies try to reinvent the wheel instead of going with what just works and is proven. also Real cirtified D1 QRs are way cheaper like what the fanatec chill with that pro model.

With the current QR1 (not the light version) i get some metal sound when having high torque on my DD Pro (8nm) with Formula V2.5 wheel. Is this gone with the standard QR2?
IMHO QR1 is better than QR2. Since the base side part is made of aluminium and if managed to be scratched after a few removes/reattachements imagine what will happen in continuous interchanging of wheels. I believe the cause of this is due to the QR2 locking rods on the wheel side, which should be made of stainless steel and come in contact with the aluminum part of the base side. So in the long run these rods will wear the edges of aluminium base enough to loosen contact with it. I hope I'm wrong but only time and use will tell. I also find QR2 are too expensive for nothing.
I don't understand why they even made a different quick release when there are already one for real car. Fanatec is nuts 100 for that crap and the pro 200 that is crazy. i mean how can you justify 100 bucks or even 200 when cammus and moza brand ones are under 100 and ebay got them for less them 50 bucks. if they work for real cars why not sim. it like fanatec and thrustmaster are the apple of the sim world
Could you try the new QR2s with the force feedback test in the Fanatec Control Panel? It makes the wheel oscillate at a high frequency. With QR1 if you don't use the locking bolt it'll make huge clunky noises, how about QR2? I really hope it can stay silent.
Way to late for fanatec and way to expensive at $340 for the qr2 and the qr2 shaft . They should of release this along side with some new podium wheel bases that have the qr2 shaft. For comparsion a simgic qr is $74 and works with any 70mm wheel or you can get the 50mm one and the simagic gt pro hub is only $389.
I'm scratching my head here. So you can get wat other company's provide at current price if you spend more 😅. I like fanatic but I'm also not made of cash.
Well, nice support that is. If they sold only qr2 for the wheelbase and replace QR1 for free, they would lose some money, but be back in business, and probably on top of other companies. But this way... I'm afraid it just prolonged the agony.
if fanatec continues to update their shit and lower prices I see myself buying a sim set up from them in a couple of years. but for now there's been too many mixed reviews and reports of wear and malfunction to warrant that kind of price. hopefully they build up a reputation of being sturdy because their ecosystem is great and they are compatible with PC Playstation and Xbox. we are very much in a racing sim arms race. Its possible moza overtakes fanatec
