Very happy upgrading from the QR1 Lite to QR2. QR2 removed a significant amount of flexing and slop. Received the QR2 within a week of placing the order, nice work Fanatec.
I'm so happy that it finally released. I feel like I got the short end of the stick in terms of machining accuracy. I don't really mind the flexing, but that clunk and the feel of the shaft rotating within the QR without turning the wheel were just really bad. Happy to get this and have a solid QR
I've had a mix of both across my collection. Just put elec tape on the shaft slot if it is loose or take a polishing disc to it if it's tight. Perrrrfect
I have a CSL DD. Is the clunk mentioned in the video and the one you describe an occasional, single, quite noticeable clunk typically experienced under high FFB load? Because that's what I notice and have wondered if that contributes to my wheel disconnecting. It can also happen (though not as big of a clunk) when driving in a straight line sometimes
Feels like forever...but this was joyous news. Never would have known if it wasn't for your EXCELLENT video. Keep up the amazing, informative content as always.
Never really had any issues with Qr1 on my DD1, apart from finding the nut/rubber tightening method annoying when switch wheels. Glad they finally released the Qr2 and seems like a much quicker process to cycle between wheels. Excited to check it out.
Just got my qr2 for my dd1 and I hateeeeeddd the way you had to unscrew and what not. It is so much better now. Idk what they were thinking with the first dd1 shaft
That new QR2 is the best out there now. it's so solid and what I like the most is the easy on and off. Also, the wheel feels so much better now, I can tell the difference while driving it too. More details on the road. night and day, feels like a new DD all together
So just ordered mine and now I am not sure I will want to ever spend the money($170) to swap to full qr2 unless wheels start to come with it standard. I dont want to have to pay another 100 on top of every wheel you want to utilize the qr2 I honestly dont see myself switching wheels a ton. If I feel too much in the qr1lite as it comes does the qr1 metal with the screw really that much better? I may get that ordered up if I feel it at all when driving. It was kind of a spontaneous purchase so didnt look into that part much or the cheaper csl lc pedal but I am sure it will all be better than g920
If you're buying a new base today, it should be coming with the QR2 already installed. It's not 250 on top of the base price. It's only for those that already have a base and want to update to the QR2 system, which is a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a whole new base.

Thanks for the review Will, much appreciated! I have a CSW 2.5 since 2019, never ever had an issue with swapping steering wheels or broken pins on the wheel side. No issues with ‘play’ while driving unless you put pressure on the steering wheel that is different from turning the steering wheel to the left or right, like pulling one side of the wheel towards you or push it away from you, or twisting the steering wheel forwards away from you. I will stick to the CSW 2.5 and will probably one day upgrade to a future Clubsport DD wheel base if that is 12Nm or more.
Now if you want upgrade from an old base like the 2.5 your steering wheels arent compatible if you dont purchase the new QR. Its not worth it to buy a Fanatec DD if you want to stay in the same ecosystem because you have steering wheels with the old QR so you have to upgrade as well the steering wheels for a big mount of money. The only good thing with Fanatec is continous with the same ecosystem but if you lose it. Why anyone is go for it when you could buy a Moza or something like that? I will not be able to buy new steering wheels if i want to stay with an old base like the 2.5 and if i want upgrade with a new direct drive for Fanatec and be able to use my wheels now i have to purchase a new QR for every sinlge steering wheel because they dont want to adapt the new QR for the old bases. Its a shitty decision.
@@juansinmiedo1075 I have a formula wheel and a clubsport universal hub v2 for my round wheels, both can be upgraded to QR2 so yeah, if I would buy a new Fanatec DD wheel base I would have to spend an extra €200 to get the two QR2. It also depends on where you come from. In the time I have been using my CSW 2.5, a lot of people already upgraded twice, so I already saved that money 😉.
I had a CSW2.5 for a few years and it was absolutely rock solid. Never had an issue with it. But there was no way I was staying with FANATEC when I upgraded. Moved over to SIMAGIC, mainly due to the size of the wheelbase being nice and compact so it allows me to get my triples as close and low as possible. And I didn't want to spend a million on a simucube 2.
Thanks for a great review, as always! I never had any flex issues with the QR1 (guess I got lucky) but I'm definitely upgrading just to get much easier wheel changing. Glad this is finally out!
I had zero movement until I started swapping wheels with my PS4 DD1 but the locking screw removed that. What's a far bigger issue is the sound of plastic cracking which is worse with a solid QR. Fanatec please release an aluminum back for the Formula V2 rim - No R&D needed.
I know you mentioned it very briefly, in my experience using the locking bolt tightly removes all clicking and most if not all the movement in the QR1. It's extremely important to use the locking bolt as it protects the pins from any possible damage. I feel not enough people use the bolt then eventually have problems. Slop creates more slop without bolt, then by the time you decide to use the bolt the tolerance is worse than new. Use the bolt tight everytime!
Definitely a nice upgrade. Still requires you to change out the stem which can bring tolerance issues. The issue I still have is if you want to use a third party wheel, you still have to purchase the podium hub. Another expense compared to some other brands. Asetek, Moza, Simagic.
I was gonna upgrade CSL DD to DD1 when I found out I have to buy new podium hub with each wheel I switched to Simucube. I understand that some people don't like USB cable hanging from your wheel but with CUBE-CONTROL wheels coming with wireless connectivity as standard you basically pay Fanatec penalty fee in the form of podium hub for using other manufactures wheels. Thanks but no thanks.
It’s especially bad when you realize that there is no hardware problem stopping them. It’s only software forcing you to buy expensive proprietary stuff from them….
@@resset100yeah I do not mind the cable and if you are wanting an eco system, go with so many others. They all let you attach any wheel and only need wheelside QR.
@@alecmillea4539that is how they keep you locked in, this is a good upgrade but still not great. they are afraid to upgrade and leave some fans behind, but it is the nature of evolution. some will have to adopt the new standard.
I sold DD1 ps4 and got a simucube 2 pro and with a 65€ QR i attached a GSI Hyper P1, i'm ok to pay 1900€ for the wheel not 200€ for a piece of aluminium to attach the wheel that looks like a tax to be paid to fanatec, oh and gl getting a high level fanatec wheel unless you want to pay 1500€ for a wheel without a display, their signature formula wheel got 6 reskins but can't live up to competition from other manufacturers in the same price range
FYI: wheel side max torque specs are 1nm on the spacer, 3nm (~26 in lbs) on the bolts to the body of your wheel according to manual/qs guide. Wheelbase side is 8nm for the QR2 collar on the shaft. My CSL DD also failed to ship with a power supply unit but everything else came lol
The side mount option for the DD1 is lovely. No point in having a solid QR if the wheel base is moving. Tbh simucube should just release their power and data QR and be done with it.
@@grego4362 Simagic has the same QR as moza, Them & Asetek have had nothing but amazing reviews from what I've seen & personally experienced with simagic. fanatec is just name brand mid quality stuff at this point imo, other brands have come into the game & done it better for the same price or cheaper.

Excellent Review. This is the first video I watched about the new Fanatec QR2 and I would like to say thank you for the very detailed review. I found a seller online and purchased the same Entity Torque Wrench since I do not want to have any issues with a loose or over tighten shaft and possibly screw up my CSL DD Pro. The $15.00 (USD) cost is well worth it.
@@Snaggletooth68 Hi, I just saw your post. I just searched for "ENTITY TW30 TORQUE WRENCH" online and the search came back with numerous seller's. A few of those offered free shipping as well. I hope this helps.
I gotta be honest, the QR system that came on my Podium DD1 and Formula V.2 wheel fits together with a tolerance ive never seen on any gaming equipment before. Idk if i just got lucky and received a good batch, but the wheel gas absolutely ZERO wiggle. Ive never needed to use the lottle screw to hold it in place! It fits together so tightly it requires a decent amount of force to take the wheel off! Personally i dont see how a system could be better as long as the tolerances on the milling are correct and consistent
I just bought like 7 steering wheels with QR1. I think I’ll have to stay with them for a year before moving on the QR2. I’m really liking Fanatec products.
Good job Fanatec. Love the QR2! Tbh my experience of Fanatec Customer Service was exemplary. Vibration motors in my wheel would not turn off. I found the telephone number for Fanatec in Germany and had a few minutes describing the issue; I received a confirmation email of the shipping process within 30 minutes and the wheel was collected by courier the following work-day (I called them on Friday & it was collected on the Monday). I was amazed as I received the repaired wheel the following Friday, so well done Fanatec, 5 days from collection to delivery. Brilliant.
Fanatec should have come up with a trading system. You get the QR2 at a hefty discount if you send back the QR1. Plus, it would have made the company look more eco friendly. Sadly, Fanatec charges the price of a wheel or even a base if you own more than 1 wheel for a QR system which should have been out years ago...
@@dimsoneill it's not a design fault, they had a system which was fine for the csl elite etc... every manufacturer regardless of industries produces versions of its products that are better throughout the time, Fanatec is not to be blamed for that. Again, QR1 works fine. The biggest problem with QR2 is the late release, making all those who bought into the fanatec ecosystem wish they had it from start. But fanatec had bigger fish to fry, namely, production and stock issues, fierce competition etc... Still with the money they have, development should have been quicker (especially considering they just copied real racing quick release), but they better release a product that is available than do a paper launch.. Anyways, it's good for upcoming bases & wheels, but honestly, QR1 it is for those who value their hard earned cash more than the hyped novelty.
And then they brought out DD products with far higher Torque and didn't upgrade the QR to suit, so yeah, design fault. As you said, fine for the belt driven stuff, not fine for the DD. Rubber compression rings band-aids didn't cut the mustard. And no, the QR1 wasn't fine, which is the whole point of the long awaited QR2. @@prozekutor
Excellent review. Seems like a much better product which is very frustrating for my 2 week old gear. With 2 wheels I'd be up for over AUD$290 for the base versions (and I can't even just do 1) for something that is supposedly going to be 'included as standard' very soon. With a 2+ year lead time and almost no updates provided, it's not like it was reasonable to expect a release to actually occur. I'm hoping they offer more than the weak bundle discount currently on offer to those who purchased recently.
I agree. I also just purchased a CSL DD and Pedals. Even if I wanted to take advantage of the discount of buying the QR2 installed on the wheel base, the wheel sides are out of stock so I wouldn't be able to use my new gear until they are restocked. Guess I'm the idiot for buying Fanatec instead of Moza.
Just to say a big thanks for this review. I suffered my first CSL DD disconnect with the QR1 in a league race around two weeks ago and have re-tightened everything up to keep me going. This review has given me the confidence I need to order a QR2 in the belief that this disconnect will be a one-time deal.
As always, incredibly clear review, instructions etc. If ever there is something new from Fanatec I always come here to see what it is and if it's any good! Thanks for the review. I will make sure I come back here use your link when I buy a couple of these! :)
Disappointed that you didn't test all 3 QR's on the same (stiff) wheel. A lot of people are going to use the QR2 Lite on stable platforms and stable rims and because you chose a really flexy rim I can't tell if there's actually a reason to go up to the aluminum model. With the crazy amount of reinforcing they did on the QR2 Lite, I'd be surprised if there's any flex that can be shown. You also mentioned cracking at the bolt holes for the QR2 Lite, is this something that was experienced on the QR1? I have all QR1 lite currently and while they do flex they have been very durable.
I am a victim of the disconnection issue and I am so happy to see them address this. And yes after many driver updates and driver update freezings and bricking of my base and then waiting for an RMA jus to find out this was the issue, ya this is great to see. I was going to just get an aftermarket clamp like the one in the QR2 and calling it a day but after finding out that this one flexes a lot less and doesn't have as much play I will probably end up upgrading. Fanatec's site is down right now so I can't order but I am sure I am in a long list of people trying to get them. So thank you for making this video so I have to spend more money hahaha but now I have an excuse to buy the BMW gt3 wheel since it comes with the pro QR2 with it hahaha
@@cozmiixx came back to let you know that the newer clamp still allows the new QR2 shaft side to slightly pull out and will leave you mid race with no wheel controls. You'll still have FF but none of the buttons on the wheel will work, including the paddle shifters... I have since bound my sequential shifter as a secondary just in case. It's a simple fix for the shaft, just loosen the clamp, and push the shaft back to being flush with the wheelbase. Part of the problem is because the QR2 wheel side doesn't open all the way so you have to pull kinda hard to get it off, which will slowly start to pull the shaft out. I was already looking into simagic, now I am gunna pick one up soon

Great video 👍incredibly useful information for me as I think about purchasing a DD setup. The used markets are flooded with an absolute mish mash of Fanatec gear, the prices seem to be over inflated when compared to the basic ready2drive kits direct from Fanatec at £435 delivered😊
Why would you review Fanatekcs products. They are rumored to be going bankrupt. They have been taking orders but not delivering the products or refunding for orders that have been canceled.
Has nothing to do with a possible bankruptcy. They have issues with their warehouse in EU after they changed to a different warehouse. That's all. And btw, they are names Fanatec, not Fanatekc.
I have a different name for them, 30 days later and they still have not returned my money and as I said it is rumored so you may be correct or you may just be unaware. Also that is not reason not to return messages or monies. IMHO
Unsubscribing. Fellow sim racers recommending products that eliminate the wiggle with the QR1 system, with other subscribers asking about what that is and his comment gets deleted multiple times. Fanatec kickback? Probably yes. Bye bye
@@momorious Is is, though? Cost triple of the most expensive official Simagic QR with wireless connection and does the same but with pins that could break. Better is not the word I´d use.
I don't really see how this prevents people from putting the wheel on upside down... As far as I know, the pins won't be happy if that happens. Maybe you mentioned it, and I just missed it... But how does it prevent you from putting the wheel on upside down???
Hello I have the BMW M3 GT2 steering wheel which is the old model and with the new QR2 I wonder if it is possible to change the QR because it is embedded in the steering wheel. THANKS
Do you have the chance to measure the lenght difference between the notmal shaft and the new one with a sterring wheel mounted? in order to undestand if the sterring wheel will result in a indentical position or if it will change a little bit? On facebook someone say that the new one is about 1/4 inch shorter, can you confirm it? thanks a lot
should be free of charge for ANYONE that has a DD1 or DD2 currently Imagine designing a flawed system and then charging people for the solution, that's Fanatec for you and why I couldn't recommend their products to anyone
Thank you for the in depth analysis on the QR2. I reluctantly ordered, but that was mainly due to price. I switch wheels often and hate bolting down the retaining screw every damn time, and can't get past the "clunk" without the bolt. I know there are other brands out there that may do better, subjectively, but the vast array of rims offered and the ones that I own already keep me in the Fanatec fam. Pedals, a different story...lol. Love the work you and your team put in. It is a true passion project that you all are stellar at putting out there for us racers. Much love, and keep it up!

With the Base-side Nickel Type M which is higher quality plus the weight of the DD1 made it an overall more solid combination, you could instantly see the difference Vs the DD Pro Type C combo which was still very good, cheers for a very detailed clear understanding of how all this works, the "base side" "wheel side" Type M and C etc can be a bit confusing until you've watched this. Just to add it looks even more solid with the Club Sport V2 type wheels which is understandable at 27" which are a very popular wheel for GT anyway.
i def smashed my nose once getting the QR1 off. another advantage of this mechanism should be eliminating the stem becoming separated from the on-off process ultimately leading to the wheel not functioning requiring an adjustment. i had this happen to me for the first time and, while it was an easy fix, it wasn't something i anticipated so i had a bit of a panic moment until trusty reddit helped guide me to the correction.
Fanatec should have offered a discount for customers with a wheelbase or wheels. Not great being charged full price and gouge the money from existing clients.
Would have better if the securing bolt was used in the QR1 like you are supposed to when doing the flex test. The comment on the different amount of play experienced on different batches of QR1s was interesting and shows poor QC on Fanatecs side. I have never had an issue (lucky I guess) and have always use the bolt anyway as it isn't that much drama. The QR2 hopefully is a step forward and will withstand the test of time. But at twice the price as a QR1 for the wheel side AU$85 and AU$170 for the QR2 AU$340 for the Pro QR2. Would be nice if it is possible to open a QR2 up to see the difference and where that price jump comes in. I am assuming they are still manufactured in China. Oh and by Aviation grade for the pro do you know if it's 6061-T6 which would be the most common.

Great review. I've never had issues with either my dd pro or my dd1, although I always use the screw. I was pretty happy with my setup and didn't think much of the slightly extra time to swap rims, and I swap rims often. After watching this I decided to pull the trigger and pick up the Qr2. Im not gonna lie, I haven't been this excited to fiddle with the rig in a while. Thanks again!!
Pro QR2 looks *so good* with the Podium hub and shifters!! I have 3 wheels though, so is gonna be an expensive move. I think I'll wait to learn about "DD3" before doing so. Thanks for a great vid.
If it's true that the Lite version is what held up the release Fanatec are a bunch of morons. Release what you've got. And release the Lite version later. Seriously. How much market share did they shed from waiting for like 2 years?
Great overview and instructions. A little unfortunate to see the bend test was done with a wheel base mounting system that flexes itself but it was still clear the QR2 is a better design.
My man I really enjoyed your video, the work you put on fanatec products, they need send you a paycheck. As I made the plunge and bought in the Clubsport DD+ now I have to change all my wheels to the QR2 quick releases.
The Torque specification for the new QR is the same as before. NOTE: The torque spec is to ensure you do not strip the threads. As with real world wheels, always pull the collar when fitting the wheel to prevent wear.
There doesn’t seem to be any discount available for those of us with many wheels. Would cost me over £1000 before vat and shipping for my wheels and base.
Really appreciate all your informative videos on sim race gear. This specific video convinced me to go with qr2 connectors for my teen's Christmas race sim bundle purchase black friday. A couple weeks have passed and I'm still waiting for my order to be fulfilled. One part of the order has had a shifting availability date. It now looks like the order won't be ship until sometime after Christmas. I've looked around the web and this seems to be a common customer experience with fanatec. I wish I would have heard about fanatec overwhelmed customer service prior and could have gone with a different gift.
I recentl bought the DD1 with the Formula 2.5 and apm bundle and i have no problem with the qr1 at all. My wheel is perfectly mounted without any play 😁
Could you try the new QR2s with the force feedback test in the Fanatec Control Panel? It makes the wheel oscillate at a high frequency. With QR1 if you don't use the locking bolt it'll make huge clunky noises, how about QR2? I really hope it can stay silent.
That FFB test is brutal man. At least on my DD2. Or did they tune it down a bit? Pretty confident these QR2's are much better. But not always worth the price. Not for me anyway at this moment
Looks pretty solid but I'm not going to rush out for it straight away. I do have metal QR1s on all my wheels and I'm reasonably happy with them. I don't know if you know (you probably do) but your Mclaren GT3 wheel with the original shifters has a third party mod which allows you to put clubsport shifters on it and it really improves it. Great video as always, thank you ✌️ 😎
@januza did it twice on my DD1. As long as you spin it loose the wires comes come out pretty far for easy connection/disconnection. I was sweaty the first time also.
Amazingly detailed video. I watched most of it and didn't hear you say whether or not you recommend upgrading from a QR1 to a QR2. I think the vast majority of people buying this product are in that boat. Thoughts?

I had a CSW2.5 for a few years and it was absolutely rock solid. Never had an issue with it. But there was no way I was staying with FANATEC when I upgraded. Moved over to SIMAGIC, mainly due to the size of the wheelbase being nice and compact so it allows me to get my triples as close and low as possible. And I didn't want to spend a million on a simucube 2.
DD1 is your go to, the clubsport is not much better than the 2.5 .
I've still snapped pins while using the locking bolt somehow
100% agree. I used the bolt and never had an issue. But that makes the 'quick' release not 'quick'. Defeats the purpose.
This. I also put some rubber o rings around the locking bolt to eliminate any clicking caused by the bolt shaft contacting the qr1.
My CSL DD also failed to ship with a power supply unit but everything else came lol
this is clearly a big improvement, but i can’t help but think it’s too little too late when you compare it to Moza’s QR and even Asetek’s QR
but at that point, you should also consider those brand problems, like overheating for Moza!
The side mount option for the DD1 is lovely. No point in having a solid QR if the wheel base is moving. Tbh simucube should just release their power and data QR and be done with it.
@@grego4362 Simagic has the same QR as moza, Them & Asetek have had nothing but amazing reviews from what I've seen & personally experienced with simagic.

your reviews are on another level mate. Great video !
The $15.00 (USD) cost is well worth it.
could you pass us the link please? im looking for it now. thx!
Thanks for the review Will. Thank you for everything you do BTW. I need these videos.
Yep, the price means I won’t be upgrading. What a joke I have yo pay them over $500 just to fix their design fault.
Honestly, i would get QR2 if i own BMW M4 GT3.
@@BboyVReck boi if you had that car it would come in baked in 💀
Thanks for the great review!! Ordered the wheelbase side this morning and waiting on the QR2 Pro to show up from my M4 GT3 wheel purchase
So thank you for making this video so I have to spend more money hahaha but now I have an excuse to buy the BMW gt3 wheel since it comes with the pro QR2 with it hahaha
did you order the qr2 and if you did, did it fix the disconnection issue?
@@cozmiixx I did get the qr2 and no I haven’t had an issue but I haven’t checked in since I put it on to see if it’s pulled out
@@the_real_beaker_ thats good news then. did you have a qr1lite previously?
@@cozmiixx no the qr1. It’s night and day difference.
I'm glad they can ship you a new product that just released...... here I am waiting for my order for over a month
It’s been 84 years now I’ve been waiting for this video. 😅

I will get the QR2 so I can use a f1 wheel for my csl 8nm base
Great video 👍incredibly useful information for me as I think about purchasing a DD setup. The used markets are flooded with an absolute mish mash of Fanatec gear, the prices seem to be over inflated when compared to the basic ready2drive kits direct from Fanatec at £435 delivered😊
More ways for Fanatec to take your money!!
Moza R21 or DD1 with QR2? Which one should someone in the market for a high torque DD go for in your honest opinion?
the qr1 is a bag of shit for the money
Why would you review Fanatekcs products. They are rumored to be going bankrupt. They have been taking orders but not delivering the products or refunding for orders that have been canceled.
Has nothing to do with a possible bankruptcy. They have issues with their warehouse in EU after they changed to a different warehouse. That's all.
And btw, they are names Fanatec, not Fanatekc.
I have a different name for them, 30 days later and they still have not returned my money and as I said it is rumored so you may be correct or you may just be unaware. Also that is not reason not to return messages or monies. IMHO
BTW , when I seen the caption on this video "Fanatec Judgement day" I thought the rumor's were going to be revealed. @@momorious
Can you link your torque wrench you used ?
Does the QR2 prevent the steering wheel from being installed upside down?
Yes
Unsubscribing. Fellow sim racers recommending products that eliminate the wiggle with the QR1 system, with other subscribers asking about what that is and his comment gets deleted multiple times.
Fanatec kickback? Probably yes.
Bye bye
So much fuzz for something that's inferior to the 25$ nrg style quick release Chinese knock offs.
Fanatec will Fanatec, I guess.
But it's not inferior, it's better :)
@@momorious Is is, though? Cost triple of the most expensive official Simagic QR with wireless connection and does the same but with pins that could break.
Better is not the word I´d use.
@@spacelube5845 the pins cant break as there is no flex or movement with the QR2 anymore.
I don't really see how this prevents people from putting the wheel on upside down... As far as I know, the pins won't be happy if that happens.
Maybe you mentioned it, and I just missed it... But how does it prevent you from putting the wheel on upside down???
It's impossible due to the chonical form to attach the wheel wrong. It just wont slide on. It only goes on in one way. No damage possible to the pins.
@@momorious ah ok, I thought it looked pretty symmetrical, so I was wondering it, but thanks for clearing it up
So is the shaft for the CSL elite metal or plastic. It looks plastic, which would feel like a down grade given my Qr1 is great, no tolerance issues
There is no base shaft available for CSL Elite. All base shafts for the DD Bases are metal, only the wheel side can be plastic with the QR2 Lite.
ok black metal then, just looked plastic

I think adding $100 to every base ye buy is still reason to think of other brands. They should be shipping QR2 on all basses immediately.
They do ship the QR2 with P DD Bases for free already.

The distance between the base and wheel on both my CSL DD and DD2 was within a few mm of what it was with the QR1.
This is an excellent video, thank you so much! 👏🏼👏🏼
should be free of charge for ANYONE that has a DD1 or DD2 currently
Imagine designing a flawed system and then charging people for the solution, that's Fanatec for you and why I couldn't recommend their products to anyone
is the shaft the same size as the QR1 when the wheel is on ?
Yep distance between the wheel and base is the same for me.
❤ Thanks Mr Boost. Love your videos
fanatec is trash. that adaptor is gonna break lol
Half way in the video and I bought the standard kit for DD Pro.
The plastic one is also aviation grade

I’ve had good luck with the QR1 I only use 1 rim so the grub screw does it’s job
Ebay have 8nm - 25nm 1/4" Torque wrenches for less than £15 not sure if that's the correct size tho!
Just to add it looks even more solid with the Club Sport V2 type wheels which is understandable at 27" which are a very popular wheel for GT anyway.
omg omg omg omg omg 😱
i def smashed my nose once getting the QR1 off. another advantage of this mechanism should be eliminating the stem becoming separated from the on-off process ultimately leading to the wheel not functioning requiring an adjustment. i had this happen to me for the first time and, while it was an easy fix, it wasn't something i anticipated so i had a bit of a panic moment until trusty reddit helped guide me to the correction.
all this time waiting to then create a quick release that doesn't solve much...
What doesn’t it solve? 😂
can you share where we can buy the tool for getting correct nm? thanks
Fanatec should have offered a discount for customers with a wheelbase or wheels. Not great being charged full price and gouge the money from existing clients.
Great channel and an amazing detailed review. Thanks!
Interesting. Lots of engineering goes into something so seemingly simple...
Thanks for the vid.
Thanks for the very usefull video! Great job 💪
Sure glad I just ordered 2 full wheels...
Great breakdown! Will likely pick one up later once stock stabilizes and sales happen!
I'm glad I didn't go Fanatec. NRG quick release all the way. Simagic and Moza have it right.

Just recevived mine today and the difference is amazing, zero flex now and overall better feedback
Coming from a CSW 2.5 I can’t wait for
a 12-15 Nm Clubsport DD equipped from factory with the QR2!
The Torque specification for the new QR is the same as before. NOTE: The torque spec is to ensure you do not strip the threads.
As with real world wheels, always pull the collar when fitting the wheel to prevent wear.
LETS GO! Even tho i have thrustmaster currently my dream weel was always a fanatec! this got me too excited! I love Fanatec!
Why? It's a terrible company.
This is great and I want it but I really don't want to spend over $800 to upgrade all my wheels
There doesn’t seem to be any discount available for those of us with many wheels. Would cost me over £1000 before vat and shipping for my wheels and base.
QR2 Pro looks nice, not sure if its worth $200 though.
Yea agreed i’m on the fence about picking this up just yet.
it being FIA certified probably pumps the price alone
A FIA certified quickrelease from Sparco is $40 less here.. so nah, would not bother with Fanatec in that case :)
You mean $20 dollars max 👆😂
Trust me, I’ve had products manufactured there.
I'm not feeling a need to upgrade to the QR2 just yet, but I am glad it is there and ready for when I finally do.
Just ordered two wheel side QR2 and wheel base for DD2. 🎉

Just updated my DD PRO. Great feel. No more clicking. Feels stiff and solid.
Great review. Can’t wait for it to turn up. Ordered QR pro as soon as I finished watching this review. Thanks boosted media
Amazingly detailed video. I watched most of it and didn't hear you say whether or not you recommend upgrading from a QR1 to a QR2. I think the vast majority of people buying this product are in that boat. Thoughts?
