  • Today I show you how to make your own nut free vegan cream cheese!
This is a quick and easy dairy free and nut free recipe and it will be done in under half an hour!
With a neutral flavor, this homemade plant based cream cheese can be turned into a sweet or savory flavor of your choice.
If going sweet try adding sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, lemon juice etc... or try savory combinations such as herb, garlic, chives, pepper, chili and so on. The options are endless :-)
It is a great vegan cream cheese spread that can be used on crackers, sandwiches, frosting and more!
Print recipe from my website at: www.cookingwithplants.com
    Recipe by Cooking With Plants
    Ingredients:
    2 tsp agar agar powder
    1/4 cup hot boiled water
1 cup plant based milk - I used organic soy milk
    1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp celtic sea salt (or salt of your choice)
pinch of sugar - I used raw sugar
    Enjoy xx

Anja once again thank you so much for the lovely recipe. I made mine with garlic, dill and black peppercorns.
One question: I have read your comment at a different video of yours when you said to a user that you do not count calories as long as there is no nuts or oil in a recipe, and that you lost 50 pounds eating as much as you like.
I am on a weight loss process at the moment and since I started eating vegan I must say I feel really satisfied a lot easier. I would really appreciate if you let me know any specific foods you avoid and in general when consuming nuts or oil how much of them do you eat? And which vegan foods you think should be portion controled? Thanks so much again!

+Kiranjit Khanijaon Oil is an unhealthy processed food full of unnecessary calories and virtually NO nutrition. It is basically a waste product left over after all the nutrients and fiber are processed out, a junk food industry knows we are fond of because it appeals to our instinctual need to load up on calories in nature. In this industrial age of processed food, we already have far too many! Avoid it when you can unless you are too skinny... and even then, it is robbing you of real nutrition! Eat whole foods like nuts or olives instead, they come with the nutrients!!!

I like how the texture looks like it could be similar to a Mexican-style queso fresco and the taste could be closer with a little extra salt. I'm just curious, have you (or anyone else reading this) tried this recipe with nutritional yeast? I'm thinking that with nutritional yeast and drying it out somehow (maybe a little time spread thin on a cookie sheet on low heat so it could be crumbled once it cooled) it could resemble queso cotija, a Mexican cheese similar to parmesan. It would just need that stronger, saltier taste.
