Making your own Non-dairy Cream Cheese couldn't be simpler! And unlike with store-bought vegan cream cheese - this doesn't have a bunch of stabilisers, colourings and unnecessary ingredients!
Tips For Making your own Vegan Cream Cheese:
- Try to Use Plain Varieties of Plant Based or Non-Dairy Yoghurt & Milk.
- For Firmer Textured Vegan Cream Cheese, leave to drain for a longer period of time
- Make sure that your milk doesn't overheat or come to a boil as that affects how well it will curdle
- Always add salt & vinegar or another type of acidity as those are crucial flavour components in making a vegan cream cheese that taste's as good as the original
- Try to use Neutral Flavoured Plant-Based Milks for a more authentic Vegan Cream Cheese - varieties like coconut or hemp might be too overpowering
- Don't be afraid to add your own seasonings & flavour to create a unique Non-dairy Cream Cheese that you'll love!
These are very basic recipes that you can customise to create a variety of different textures and flavours for your Vegan Cheese. I hope you found this tutorial helpful, and check out some of my other videos below!

I know Vegan Cheese doesn't have the best reputation, but these homemade Cream Cheeses are sooo delicious! 😋
I've just found your channel and I can't stop watching all your videos. They are amazing, you're so genuine ❤
Yay!! I’ve been trying to find a recipe that doesn’t use nuts or tofu!! I tried my own once and it didn’t turn out
thank youuu is the best recipe I ever see, you're the best!
Especially when you use your own ingredients and fresh definitely heightens the taste
Great tips.
1liter (1 quart) soy milk
4 Tablespoon (1/4 cup) apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
In a pot heat milk on medium such that it does not come to a boil. Once it is heated through, remove from heat and add the vinegar or lemon juice and mix it in. Curdles should form immediately. Let the mixture cool down completely before straining it using muslin or cheesecloth placed in a strainer. Remove as much liquid as you can to make the cheese firmer.
Can we use almond milk?
@@bhavishakewalramani1762 Almond milk usually doesn't have enough protein but cashew milk or Ripple pea milk work great.
This really seems like it's actually silken tofu 😁 which is nice aswell
Isn’t this exactly the same as the video ?
Does this method not work with oat milk? Mine didn’t curdle even after sitting for around 15 minutes
Is it just me or is this video soooo soothing? 😌
It's her voice, is very soothing 😌
I love her voice too
@Imix Muan lol
Lol it tis!
IKR! 💖
The worst part about whole foods Is realizing the hard work needed to prepare food properly. It's definitely humbling. One of the most real experiences of my life.
Can you please make a guided meditation? Your voice is so calming and angelic. ✨♥️✨
I'm not vegan but this recipe is perfect for me because I have multiple food allergies 😄.
I'm allergic to dairy, nuts, eggs, soya, sesame and a few more, so I love how this recipe is easy to substitute everything 🙏🏽 Gonna try this but with oat or rice milk, thank you❤
Did you try it?
I’m curious if you tried oat milk, and the results.
If you can, try Ripple pea milk. It has enough protein to make this work.
How you will be allergy to animal corpses too
Won’t work with oat and rice milks.
I tried your recipe again and it came out way better this time! My milk wasn't heated enough the first time, thank you so much for this delicious recipe!
Its so interesting to see how simple you can make your daily products and its fresh and you know whats exacly in it! Yess love it ! Keep sharing and teaching us. ❤
Aww you're welcome Ama! Haha I know, it's crazy how simple some things are to make! It's really encouraging to see you guys find my tutorials helpful, thanks hun 💚
As a Taiwanese, a hot soy milk with white vinegar and add on some savoury sauce is our breakfast! The part to wait it turns chunks is the most interesting part on the table. Now it can turn into a 🥯 Cream Cheese. I m not surprised! So highly recommend everyone who love this recipe to try a taiwanese savoury soy milk dish!
I’m curious, how do you eat it? Like with what do you combine it? Or do you just eat it with a spoon? 😄
imagine using this for cheesecake 😍
Oooh yes girl! I NEED to try that - it'd be insane! 😋
Used the yogurt one with lemon juice instead of vinegar and just a pinch of salt. Turned out freaking awesome!
Is it actually possible? 🤔 That would be dope!
@@momokunyohime6883 totally is!
Simply.s how did it taste?
Oh my gawd she puts the timestamps in the video!? *Subscribes*
Thank you for this! My daughter has EOE and is allergic to dairy and we need alternatives. I myself have a nut allergy so the nut options are out. Can't wait to try it!!

Omg! Who knew homemade cream cheese could be this simple and easy! Will go well with my fruit/ chia seed jam spread. Thank you so much!! Definitely will be making this soon!😉💯( 1 lb. Frozen fruit. Cook and mash fruit. Add 1/4 cup sweetener & chia seeds. Use stick blender to break up fruit and mix well. Put in air tight container, place in fridge.

ah I love this! so happy to see a vegan cheese that doesn’t require nuts. thanks for making this video 💖
Thank you! I agree, nuts are usually a staple in a lot of vegan recipes so it's good for people to know there are a few more options out there 😊
i'm gonna try this soon
Yimmmmmmmmmmy thank you very much
Great Video. Thank you.
Wonderful. I am trying to reduce the amount of dairy I eat and while searching for commercial vegan cheese, I found this. Great video.
Looks amazing, I can only imagine how good it tastes 👏👏 Can't wait for the next video! Have a lovely day ❤
Aww thank you so much! So glad you liked it, I have to admit it was a struggle not to eat the whole thing 😂💚💚
It looks good to me. I will definitely try this method and add a tiny bit of agar.
Liked and subscribed. Thank you!

I'm glad I came across this video. Thanks for referring UA-cam! New subbie!!
Haha Welcome Christa! Thanks so much 😊
I cant wait to try this. Will try w the soy milk . Thank u soooo much
They both look pretty good.
I tried the yogurt version and I cant believe how easy and how well it actually turned out. I used Culina brand yogurt since its pretty thick and doesnt have much liquid to drain out
You are a god send 💫
This was very relaxing to watch, but also the background music kinda slapped ngl.
Haha thank you!! I know people don't come for the background music but it adds a little something 😂😊
Thank you so much for this receipe ,i need this in my life, hehe🤗🥰💙
Aww, no problem hun. I'm so glad you like it! 💚
Great content 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Out names are so similar n I need this in my life as I am allergic to dairy. Also you blew my mind when I realized that I could make regular cheese from the vegan milks that I drink by using an acid because as a chef I don't know why I didn't think of that. I don't necessarily like natural yeast and that is how most chefs make cheese girl hand clap chef kiss you're amazing
Adding more liquid to the yogurt after draining out the liquid is what made the texture more like a crème fraîche than cream cheese. You can either mix the vinegar and the salt into the yogurt before straining it or leave the vinegar out altogether; you do not need any vinegar because the yogurt already has the tartness from being cultured :) That is what I do whenever I can't find plain vegan cream cheese at the market and it works perfectly. Good luck :)
hi can you explain HOW and what type of liquid please as i am looking to do crème fraîche
Adding more liquid to the yogurt after draining out the liquid is what made the texture more like a cream fraiche
@@shirasezan She added / stirred vinegar into the strained yogurt at 2:29 and that is why it turned out like crème fraîche.
Look Delicious 🍽
Thank you 😋
Great, I make my cream cheese by straining my homemade soy yoghurt too! 🙂 The second recipe is more like a soft tofu as it's made from soy milk. I love the additions of herbs and spices too! I would recommend adding the chives after blending it, so that you still have the lovely chive pieces in tact 😉 Such a nice made video, well done!
Hi! Can this type of vegan cream cheese will be good for making cheesecake
I mean I guess it is like a soft tofu but the cooking method is the same as dairy cream cheese, soy milk and soy in general is cool like that, the proteins are able to coagulate and mimic diary proteins so similarly, it’s my go to milk for vegan/dairy free substitutes, the other ills work but just don’t hold up as well in certain recipes, like in this one, they wouldn’t make good cream cheeses
Thought it looked like a cottage cheese.
Best cream cheese recipe thou it make sense to use yoghurt
Hi Elise,
Your creame cheese look super delicous. I've made cream cheese with cashew milk. It's pretty good too.
Ooh that sounds really tasty! I wanted to keep this cream cheese nut free but I'll definitely try it with Cashew milk! Thanks for watching 😊💚💚
How did u make cream cheese from cashew. I m looking out for one
I made this today (and made Bagels too, just had to 🤣) and it turned out fabulous! Soy milk being low in fat naturally, I thought it would be dry and crumbly but the blending really did the magic. Ah the gloss and the creamy, silky texture of the cream cheese is divine! I've already downed 2 bagels lol and have also separated some to make a cream cheese frosting later. Thanks for this simple easy recipe 🥳
How did the frosting turn out? Im trying to do the same
Awesome
I was thinking about going Vegan for awhile, and I was looking at the price of some of the non dairy products, they can be quite expensive, thank you for your tutorial.
Looks amazing thank you for your beutifuil presentation can't wait to try the milk 🥛 one🙏. Would it work with my home made coconut 🥥 milk?. Blessings 🙂
The cream cheese looks so delectable.
For how can the milk cream cheese be stored in the fridge and is it freezer friendly?
Hi. Very lovely show you have. 🙂 When using the milk (almond) how many cups should I use and how many teaspoon or tablespoon of lemon juice should I use ? Thank you .
Do you make your own plant based milk ? Great tips thanks 🙏🏽
quick, simple and cheap. have you tried using the cream cheese as an ingredient when cooking? i'm intrigued to see if it will act like cream cheese if i breaded and deep fried it, or maybe in a caramel sauce, cooked cheese cake, etc. worse case scenario it clumps into a tofu like state. i needed something to get excited about. ta
Can I sweeten it and use on my cakes. Thanks for sharing these practical recipes.
I really enjoy whipped cream cheese texture. Do you have any suggestions on how to make the from milk version more of a whipped texture?
Could you make the milk cream cheese into a sweet cream cheese like a cinnamon or strawberry for breakfast bagels or as a fruit dip??
This looks so yummy! About how much does the milk method yield from 1liter?
YOU HAVE MY ATTENTION. I am coeliac and lactose intolerant and choose to be vegetarian just to be darn awkward (and ethically prudent). I thank you for this life saving recipe (🤭) which I will now try with cashew milk and my array of herbs etc to flavour, for use on my homemade gf bread. Blessings ♥️💚💛
@guttersnipe , so, how did it go with cashew milk?
Just a friendly fyi...Lactic Acid works better than lemon juice or vinegar. It is a available on amazon you only need a little so a bag will last you a while.
Calming voice. U could say anything and I'm sure it's soothing hehehe
Great video! Wonder if you can do this with cococnut milk, have you tried it?
thank you , this looks like what I am looking for. You said add 'some' vinegar. Please what is the ratio of yogurt to vinegar. Thanks again.
Great recipe, thanks Elise. May I knownhownlong can I put the soy cream cheese in a fridge?
Hi Elise! I'm Catching Your Recipes Now. Very Impressive And Uber Simple! Simplicity Is The Way For Me. 6 Of Your Recipes Are Hidden. How Can I Access Them? Do I Need To Join??
Good idea...nice lady 🧡💚💙💜❤️
How long can you store it in the fridge?
came here for the cream cheese found myself meditating to hypnosis for 12 minutes, I'm gonna come back here next time I have a stressful day. I'm not sure if the thumbs up is for the recipe or the voice but you're getting one anyway.
in our house the strained yogurt turns into greek yogurt not cream cheese. the second technique usually makes ricotta for us. I never thought of turning it into cream cheese but we will try it thx for the idea.
Very useful to know. I'm adding this to my Pinterest account. 24.5.2020
Thanks Farrah! Yes I'm still surprised that you can get such convincing cream cheese from just milk and yoghurt 😊💚
Could the second one work with almond milk?
You sort of remind me of Ginny from Ginny and Georgia :) thanks for the recipe. Will be trying 🤩
Aw I'm so glad - hope you like it! 😊
How long should at be in the freezer
With the ingredient amounts you used for the second batch, how much would you say that made? About 8oz overall? I was going to use that recipe as a base to make honey pecan cream cheese, but I may cut it in half to make a smaller amount as it is just me eating it. Thank you for the video and your time.
Would this work with almond milk ?
Which yogurt brand did u use?
Thank you so much. Can a nut bag be used?
I would think so!
hi for the cream cheese did you use homemade soy milk or is it a ready bought milk ?
Whato you do with leftover liquid from both recipes?
"Flavor free.... Wait... Scratch that last one." Instant subscribe. 🤣
Can u do vegan butter
You're the bomb luv
Can you please do a vegan clotted cream video?
I thought only dairy milk curdled with vinegar.
This is very interesting. I only have almond milk but will definitely try and see if this works with the milk I have.
Also this would be great for mac and cheese.
Update, yes this works with almond milk.
Did u try it, did it work I'm curious 🙁🙁
@@hibahghaith2940 Yep.👍🏽 Worked nicely. It might require more draining though.
Almond milk curdled nicely
@@layladarby1994 I know right? I was shocked and happy at the some time. Makes me appreciate our world even more. The limitless amount of chemical reactions are endless.
I followed the second recipe to the T (in my opinion) and my cream cheese looked more runny when I took it out of the cheesecloth, any idea why this might have happened? Will letting it sit in the fridge make it firm up more?
How much lemon juice should be used?
Hi, does it need to be unsweetened soy milk or not?
