Interested have u made the same recipe twice if so how did u mix it , I’m guessing all ingredients except the water and agar powder goes in the blender , cook the agar and water the pour into blender with other ingredients and cook it till it blends together and is thick and gooey ?

I made this but wanted the fattiness of real cheese so I added 1/3cup deodorized coconut oil. It makes it so much more unctuous and oozy and is ten times richer.

Wowl! I made this cheese today. I opted to cut the recipe in half (just in case :-)). It came out pretty great. Took a bit longer to cool than I expected but it was worth the wait. Thank you so much. Now that I know the basics, I think I'll spice it up some next time I make it. Thanks again for the awesome recipe.

I made the recipe exactly according to the instructions and got ... spicy jelly. Not similar in texture to cheese.
Luckily Agar Agar is reversible and can be re-heated.
I put the "Jelly" in the pot. In the blender I ground a cup of almond flour with 4 tablespoons of coconut oil, 2 tsp. of tapioca flour and a 1/4 tsp. of white miso and added the batter to the pot.
I cooked till it was almost boiling and re cooled it.
    Now I have cheese!

Hello again!!! I cannot express how excited I am about trying your recipes. My only question is the amount of sugar that some require. I will be 65 in a few months. Have never had a sweet tooth. I also worry at my age now about diabetes type 2. I don't refer to myself as "vegan" but for all intensive purposes have been on a plant based diet for health reasons. It is a total myth that high cholesterol and blocked arteries are due to obesity. For the most part it is genetic. My family's health history is proof. I weigh within 2lbs my entire life as I did at 16. I never watch calories and do include Alaskan wild salmon in my diet for health reasons. For whatever reason I do not metabolize important omegas through supplements. It is a very fine balance. Also prior to adding salmon my cholesterol has been elevated. I have always been able to bring it back down with diet. Cholesterol is produced in our livers and with the same hereditary factors that have given me great skin and stable weight the negative has been my predisposition to elevated cholesterol. I dislike labels and do not push others to follow my style of eating. The sugar worries me for it's effects on teeth, possibly skin, energy levels and once we reach our 50s diabetes type 2. I also see so many women in my age group who never bothered with sunscreen who began developing skin cancers as young as their 40s. I eat for my health and quality of life. My work since my children are grown with their own families does not allow for much free time. I am a mal- practice attorney and also deal with insurance fraud and really adore my work. Your recipes are quick to put together and I have a 4 day weekend and today will be my shopping day. What are your thoughts on Stevia in powder form? Much Love and thank you for all of the time and pride you put in your channel. Perhaps a restaurant is in your future :))

Help! I watched this video a few times but for some reason I forgot a step being the part where you warm up your milk/nutritional yeast mixture... I just added it to my vitamix and heated up the agar water mixture in the pan. Sooo, my cheese is not hard like it should be to grate and slice even after being in the fridge for 24 hours :( is there anyway I can save it!? Maybe heat it back up in the pan with some more agar mixture? Or should I just scrape it and try again?

I followed a recipe on Google for vegan cheese and it tasted like spicy peanut butter. I think potato flour is the main stuff that gives that cheese taste, I powdered unsalted plain chips instead of nuts and made it very close to cheese but it didn't go hard like the recipe said, I used 1 teaspoon of Agar Agar powder but should of used a tablespoon. Will try your recipe next.

Is the miso absolutely indispensable? What could we substitute it with ?

So I made this cheese today and for some reason it hasn’t firmed up. I am not sure why is cooled down, would that be because I didn’t wait long enough while stirring the agar?

Just stumbled across your cheese video. It looks great. I just found out that I have a ton of food allergies and among them are yeast and soy. Would their be something I could use instead of the miso and the nutritional yeast. I would be grateful for any help you can give me. Thanks in advance.

Great looking, great smell, feels very firm BUT i can't chew this. It feels way too fake. It feels like chewing rubber 😕
I will keep trying and experiment a bit with this basic recipe

Andrea Cruz I agree the taste was good but I think the recipe had too much agar. It’s way too rubbery even as you chew it it feels so slippery.

hello Veggie Rose. Appreciate the video. Can you substitute tapioca starch or flour for agar agar since the later is hard to find and expensive at the health store.
