I think that if looks great! I see a lot of those hutches and at a relatively good price. Nice to think outside of the box and make it into a new piece.
I posted a peek at our booths in the community tab! They're really empty right now because of having to do chemo... but we'll be able to pack them full again soon!
Why did you do that to a nice piece of furniture? What was wrong with its' beatiful wood texture? Initially it looked great, and now it looks like some dumped junk.
Respectfully, what was wrong with it, primarily, is that it was very dated, unsellable and couldn't even bring more than our $5 bid at an auction. This style of furniture went out of popularity in the '90s and nobody wants it at auctions or sales. There's almost one at every single sale we go to, and they never go for more than $10. It's not a make or style of furniture that is solid wood, antique, etc. It's mass produced press-board and laminate. On the other hand, we took out the piece we re-did and it sold almost immediately. While you may think it looks like "dumped junk", it's still part of the "in" styles and we can sell this style of furniture all day every day, because it's still in high demand around us.
@@BrickHouseVintageDIY Thank you for your kind reply. I really didn't mean to hurt your feelings, honestly. But the initial thing was soooo beautiful - its' appearance and its wood texture. We don't have many things of this style in our area and I would love to have such a thing as is at home. However here it's way too expensive.
Wow that is soooo pretty!! Excellent makeover
I have a similar hutch. Also splitting it up. Very insightful
This piece looks like it was custom made for a farmhouse dining room ❤️
Didn't think I was going to like this effect. I was surprised as I love it!!!

Wow great makeover! Love your take on it 💚
I like the explanation of why you make different choices for your pieces.
Beautiful… I like it very much 👏👏
It would be fun to see your booth! This piece turned out great! Nice update👍

Would like to see what you did with top part.
Link please if already done
You're right, it's not my style, but it turned out beautifully! Can't wait to see what you do with the top cabinet!!
Beautiful transformation Ethan 😊👍
Thank you
I like your work, thanks for sharing 😇
Paint ruins it. I'm just putting a glass top on my bottom, using top display elsewhere
Nice job butt II hate the distressed look.
