Caine is the living embodiment of “I’m the best at what I do and I hate it.”
Yes, pretty much...
@@Caine61💀
fr 💀
@@Hikara-Fyodorisalive then i yell u got ur ass kicked by a blind man that some funny shit im telling everyone u guys are bad to lose like that
So is John.
As a blind man, I can confirm. This is how we look when we fight.
If your blind how do you know how caine is hitting and how are you watching this
@@KenajCollier10 smh nothing gets past you
Oh nice--waaaaaiiiiiiit a minute...
@@KenajCollier10You haven't heard Braille UA-cam?
@@KenajCollier10 r/whoooosh
What's crazy is that Caine gave up his eyes, likely well into his adult life, meaning he didn't grow up blind. In adulthood, the brain doesn't really lesrn how to live without certain senses compared from childhood or infancy. This means that Caine was THAT good that he was nerfed/blinded AND STILL keeps up with the Babayaga.
I love the implication that Caine gave his eyes because he wanted to leave the assassin life and be with his daughter. Like John, he had to sacrifice something for the Elder.
Scary to think that Caine was likely either as dangerous or even more deadlier than Baba Yaga.
Well in the bonus features they state Caine is superior physically to John and he was written to be a physical threat that John couldn't beat which is cool
So are you saying that like John who had to make an impossible task to finally be free, Caine had to renounce his sight, so he also would be free to live with his daughter, and he learned to live and fight like a blind man, even when he wasn't blind from birth? Wow, imagine how good Caine was that even blind he's still a greater fighter and killer.
@@SouthpawSatch Then come John is the most feared assassin in the underworld that everyone is afraid of?
He was so used to navigating through unwelcome/never visited places that he's used to it. A plus that he probably has a decent knowledge of "overall layouts" of most buildings. On top, he's so used to punching and kicking people that he knows exactly how each impact can and will influence his target.
1:00 I don't know if this is improvised, but I love Caine's self-disappointment when he realizes the sensor is too high. It feels so natural.
probably because japanese people are known to be quite short.
@@_tomochi Putting the motion detector that high meant that he originally was to shoot their heads. But he changed his mind and went lower so that he won't kill them
@@realdealmind01 ah, I thought that was kane's intention from the start so I didn't think of it.
@@realdealmind01by far I like this explanation the most. He seems trying to avoid fatal hits from the whole scene.
I mean Donnie Yen is a great actor as well
2:04 the IP MAN COMBO😂🔥 the creators of this film paid respects to so many other iconic action films. My mind was blown watching this masterpiece
Feel same way😂 I thought this combo must definitely from Ip man since watched in cinema
Ip man and flashpoint references 😁
I was looking for this comment lol All the real Ip man fans went crazy on that combo🔥🔥
Combo starts at 2:01 The elbows and chain punching are all a reference to his Wing Chun in Ip Man
When Donnie did the chain punches me and my friend in the cinema were like "HE DID THE THING!" 😂😂😂
Dude's 60..60 freaking years old and moves like that.
Martial arts training will do that to you ;)
Mark Dacascos is the same age as Donnie Yen. Their martial arts is on a different level.
Modern Zatoichi.
The great detail on a second watching is that Caine doesn't kill any of the Japanese thugs. They still fall down and don't get up, but he doesn't give any obviously fatal hits, unlike John Wick deliberately shooting people in the head.
This could be just him wanting to be on good terms with Koji, him sparing him so he could ask a favor for him to leave, (to spare his life if he could) as this is one of the few and only times he goes non-lethal.
@@UnknownOps he killed like one or two guys
@@TateBrothers362 Killing high table soldiers too
@@TateBrothers362he didn’t .. he shot them in non fatal places
Wick is killing their true enemy. Caine is forced to smack around his own allies.
That is the most realistic way a blind person will fight. Sloppy but accurate.
I didn't see anything sloppy about Caine movements
Not his movement but his aim with a firearm is all over the place, he shoots in a general direction until a noise gives him a location
@@nomadichippie1930which really isn’t sloppy .. it’s a great tactic he can’t see so he makes the best of his other senses it would actually be scary to watch a Caine that can see 😂
This is the John Wu style crippled gunslinger taken to the extreme.
There are things he cannot do that everyone else takes for granted. To make up for it, he has to fight in a unique way, be clever, and take precautions that no one else does.
His movements, positioning, and even pauses are very precise but they are for reasons that most of his enemies don't really understand.
The most realistic way a blind person would fight would them being dead
2:03-2:06 Caine wing chun chain punches 🔥🔥🔥💯
Yessss IP Man! I actually thought it would've been cool if they had him break a guy's arm via armbar like Flashpoint or cut a guy's stomach with a knife open like SPL.
Followed by a cartoon uppercut
ah yes, Ip man vs 10 blackbelts
Specifically the first fight from IP Man with the fu shan teacher
@@hawker2094A homage to boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard, actually. Donnie did the same wind-up punch in In The Line Of Duty 4.
Imagine Caine WITH his eyesight
Caine with his eyesight was probably like John during his prime. Ultimately Caine was better post-retirement AND blind.
Watch Ip Man then😂
Makes you wonder that if hes badass blind, just imagine how much of a power house he was prior to going blind. He most likely was another John Wick
Becoming blind heightened his other senses, I’m pretty sure he wasn’t on the same caliber as John wick
@@randomcitizen5135 Dude, this ain’t Daredevil. Even the director said that Caine was likely better than Wick prior to going blind.
@@windowsVDat least in hand to hand and blades combat if I understand correctly. But John is at least better with guns. Can you rectify?
@@Charles-A Well yeah, Caine is blind so John has a considerable advantage with guns.
@@leebrown1213 Duh, because melee is close quarters, and thus considerably less accuracy is required compared to ranged combat with guns. No one said Caine was as durable as John, but given that he was able to beat John while blind (even though John was tired) suggests that he likely had a decent enough skill gap over John in his prime to overcome even John’s durability. Especially with edged weapons which nullifies a lot of what durability that one might have.
John is known as the Baba Yaga in his locality. Caine didn’t operate primarily in New York unlike John. Considering that the high table’s price for Caine’s retirement required him to literally give them his eyes due to how dangerous he was, is very telling about how deadly he was in his prime. John was never required to handicap himself in order to retire.
If I had a nickel for every time Donnie Yen played a blind man who’s actually a badass warrior, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t many but it’s weird that it happens twice.
Who also fights with sticks.
Three nickels. He also in Star Wars Rogue One.
If I had a nickel for everytime Donnie Yen plays a person with disability that can actually fight and be a badass, I'd have three nickels, which isn't much, but it's weird that it happened thrice.
@@Rubenz343That’s just 2. OP was already referencing Rogue One.
Honestly, this first action scene we get of Donnie’s character shows how he truly was the star in JW4! ❤
Jurassic World 4?!? yeet
Caine was an absolute badass for sure.
I knew it was Donnie Yen! I just watched the movie on my TV and I was like “Is that Donnie Yen? I’m trippin right?” Lol
What a physical performance from Yen. You can see him listening and thinking through his movements mid-fight. So, that’s incorporating the fight choreography with the performance of a blind fighter. So awesome. Only thing that comes to mind as comparable is the film UPGRADE, in the first action scene where the main character’s body is controlled by an AI, so with his face he’s showing surprise and bewilderment and fear and amazement and regret, while physically he’s pulling off some ruthlessly efficient action. Awesome stuff.
I always liked how he checked to see if the surface was hot by rubbing the top of his Caine after he touched the steaming areas at 1:20
Caine be like, “I am one with the Force and the Force is with me."
2:03 that chain punch 😮 wow 🔥🔥🔥
“So there was this blind man right..”
The way Donnie Yen moved throughout this film was such a delight to watch
Caine was such an unbelievably well conceived character, perfectly cast and the ideas and fighting choreography for him were incredible. I love John, don't get me wrong, but Caine was the star of this movie. I'm really holding out hope that they find a good story to give him a spin-off.
2:06 mini windmill punch 😂
I can’t help but laugh a little when Caine just gets up and starts aimlessly shooting before finessing
I still can't believe he's 60 years old.
he didnt even feel threatened enough to kill em
He didn't kill them beacuse out of respect for his friend koji
Idk when my man-crush on Donnie Yen actually started but dang, is he one of my favorite actors now. He genuinely seems to be having a blast in all his movies and you can tell by the way he makes every scene (every moment) memorable. Really hoping we get a Caine spinoff.
Donnie Yen’s martial arts style is amazing. He stole the show in John wick 4
I think the most impressive part is the fact he managed to make himself a bowl of noodles while everyones killing each other
Didn’t realize it until now but 1:12 he feels around and burns himself, so he’s extra careful placing the sensor in the next shot. Explains why he touches his cane to feel how hot the oven was.
Anyone else noticed that Caine never fights to kill Koji's men? He shoots them yes, but most if not all his shots were non lethal and when he fought them in hand to hand he never went for the killing blow.
Wow, I love how caine never blocked any of his opponent's hits and was full on offense. It made this more realistic.
I love how Caine throughout basically the whole movie gives absolutely zero fucks about anything except his kid and kinda John. Him telling the Marquis to fuck off was hilarious.
honestly I can't blame him for wanting to grab a bowl of ramen first. that's probably a 5 star hotel so the food has to be really good.
I like how he uses the door bell for only this fight. The rest of the movie he just perfectly detects people and beats them up anyway.
They had some ninja skills so hearing them would be an issue
“I’m one with the force and the force is with me.”
2:05 I LOST IT OOOOOOHHHH THE WING CHUN!!! IP MAN!!!
Can’t believe that beast is 60 years old
CAINE- is crazy phenomenal- that part with the temperature feel… runs the top of his Cane next to the side of the hot pot!!! That’s detail!! Checking that it’s REALLY SOMETHING hot!! …. Modern day ZATOICHI!!! Just amazing!!!
Great post! Saved to my watch list! 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Man Donnie Yen has made this my favorite fighting film of all time. Something I didn't think could ever happen in todays cinema.
you know he set an alarm just to not kill them, in normal fight he can shoot to kill anyway. What a professional.
0:59 "There we go... No, dum-dum, they'll be keeping their heads DOWN!"🙄
He lowered them because he wanted to shoot them in non-lethal spots
I Love the Fact that he didn't Kill any of them, he's a Very Moral Assassin.
Caine is an exceedingly obvious choice for a John Wick Spinoff.😆
Caine is one of the best assassins that bare the most proficiencies
Caine is basically a (mostly) non-lethal John Wick.
I love how he channels his inner ip man and used his wingchun bullet punches 2:03
i die when he is hiding and eating ramen when others are fighting💀💀
He really needs his own movie or TV show
He Can Play Wu Zi Mu in Gta San Andreas
I really like the way Donnie usually surpirsed me with his barnstorming performance that keeps me watching over and over again.
Caine using his intuition and Feeling to defend Himself
2:03 He went Ip Man for a second.
Love how smooth and easy he is, as if he were making a coffee, or some everyday chore
imagine dying to a fucking doorbell
CAINE IS THE BLIND FURY OF THE JOHN WICK UNIVERSE, LOL! 🧑🦯🥋⚔️🔫🎬🎥🎞️🤣
Caine was easily the best character in the whole film!
Imagine Caine Had His Eyesight
Legend, it’s a shame that Hollywood don’t cast him enough in there movies.
He's up for the lead role in the upcoming remake of Kung Fu directed by David Leitch. Shooting starts in Fall
Donnie yen is a badass actor
the wind up Popeye punch following the rapid ip man punches is so cool.
Love dat Ip Man reference.
motion sensors for the win
that punch at the end was fantastic
K E N S H I W I N S !
Yo I’m going record and saying Donnie yen needs to be cast as Mister Negative in MCU spider man movie. His performance in this JW4 movie was 🔥🔥🔥
They Call Him The IP Man
I just now realised it was him
Donnie yen and Keanu are about the same age.. and yet Donnie clearly looks better on screen
Nikola Jokic: “I like this guy.”
Caine is Woozie of GTA San Andreas in real life
I got hyped in the theater when he did the chain punch @2:04
Classic archetype.
he is John Wick's Daredevil
ドニー格好良すぎるだろ…!!
Normally if a blind character outside of a superhero movie does kung fu, it ruins the experience for me (yeah I know we already have to suspend a few disbeliefs in the Wickverse anyway). But Donnie Yen played this whole thing so well I never once cared.
Imagine if he wasn’t blind, he’d be a monster
We need his solo movie
I love how sensor devices just have a simple door bell sound
Caine is the second most powerful character to John Wick
Artistic 😊❤
Ding dong 🤜🏼
The fact he’s not trying to kill these guys adds another layer to his challenge and he still preforms perfectly what a badass
Caine/Donnie Yen absolutely stole the show in John Wick 4
Imagine if cane had his eyes !! Is John Wick better ??!! 😎🥊💯
then he wouldnt have his heightened senses, so who knows.
@@sivel7493I don’t really see Caine’s disability as set back for him. I think that’s what makes him unique. He has greater senses because of his blindness
@@kodesh1674 yeah that's what I said
❤ the doorbell motion magnets that was very unique and a good tool for my driveway. Pesky neighbourhood....
2:03 Imagine getting
*Ip man to the face*
then getting knocked out cold by a
*Why i Oughta*
DING! DONG!
If Daredevil meets John Wick, it would be epic!
He did the ip man punches kek
The greatest addition in the franchise
He is one with the force
What a legend.
It was a bit frustrating that they gave John Wick the most attention when I want to see more of Cain , but I understand it’s John Wick movie and I am glad that they’re releasing a Caine spinoff. Demonstrate the best of his abilities in a well-made, Hollywood production is an absolute treat
I don't belive he has done the Linked punch from Wing Chun, lol 2:04 I knew they would make something related to Ip Man Movie
Can't wait for the Caine Spin-off! I hope Tony Leung is in it.
I love Caine’s Sig P365 SAS with the custom mounted Strike Industries Mass Driver, looks badass af! 👍
2:03詠春拳使ってる事に感動した😂
2:06 true fans will know that wind up punch was a call back to his wind up punches in the movie In The Line Of Duty IV, great movie btw, I highly recommend it.
Caine is a real Batman
Never ask a man his salary
Never ask a woman her age
*Never interupt an asian while eating his noodle.*
2:06 He literally Popeyed him and the fact that he bounced after 🤣😂
Just imagine Caine with Eyes.
0:59 You Know That Devices That He Can Still Hear Movements
