Then-Beginning in 1978, with the release of the KISS SINGLES ALBUMS, things began to start to crumble, little by little. It wasn't Ace's fault. The guys in the Band wanted some time away from each other, so that's how the whole Single Albums thing came about. It gave everyone in KISS some "Breathing Room"...so to speak. Then came 1979. Paul and Gene wanted to go a different direction, in terms of musical styles, and Stage Apparel...and, as we all know by now, that's when the "Kingdom", known as KISS, began to REALLY experience a lot of problems. The way Ace was playing at 22-27 years old in the 70s was off the charts. Never forget the context. Seriously great player, each note dripping with personality and soul.
Yeah, lot of negative and positive things said about this guy. Maybe not the most technically brilliant ever... but for showmanship and memorable licks he certainly ranks up there. He fulfilled rock and roll audiences fantasies about what a guitar god should look like and sound like... and that has got to stand for something.

What impresses me more about Ace Frehley is that I recently read he never had any kind of formal guitar lessons and admits to being musically illiterate. Yet unable to distinguish the notes, chords, and keys, he's still able to create the right sounds. His story should inspire the rest of us to look past the elitist snobs and show the world what we can do. Educated or uneducated, skilled or unskilled, trained or untrained; we deserve the chance to prove what we can do beyond the barriers of institutionalized qualifications.

+Tyreek Murillo not an I guess, it's simple yet sounds good, showing you don't have to play yngwie classical music to be good
^ My man.
Sure helps though. Imagine how much better he would’ve been if he was?
Dimebag loved this guy. I love Dimebag.
Did anyone ever play the guitar with so much passion? Ace put all his heart and soul in it 100%. It's raw, it's cool, it's all "Ace" spirit. That's the part that can not be replicated even if the notes can.
One of the all time great solos!👍
This. Right Here! The reason I became a musician (and an Artist)!
Ace maybe wasn't technically proficient but that isn't what Rock N' Roll is about is it? It's about feel and playing from your Heart (and Groin) and Ace is/ was just so frakkin cool!
I still get goose bumps when that Les Paul starts to smoke!!!
out,
t
My first rock ‘n’ roll concert was kiss in 1976. It was kiss live tour the good old days.
Same here, as a newlyborn 12year old i saw KISS in Sweden 76 and then my life Changed.
Whatever all of todays Wiser allknowing clowns thinks, Ace and his Guitarplaying/Show was something mindblowing when the world didn´t even got Computers or Cellphones..
He has Inspired John5/Dimebag/Slash/Friedman/Myself to play the Guitar..
Not bad for a "shitty" Player in my opinion..
So to all of you haters/clowns/wiser guys..Keep up the flag of this guy if you can..🤣🙏🤘

Most of the people complaining about his playing don't really understand guitar playing. They think you have to play shred (super fast nonsense noise) or it's no good. They don't understand where rock guitar and blues guitar playing came from, and how feel and attitude are just as important as notes.
SUPERB⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
His picking technique is even awesome back then.
I think he's one of the most underrated guitar players in the world hes no blackmore or page but he's got all the right shit. I love him. He's pure rock n roll .
Ace was the most talented of all the members of Kiss.
Ace Frehley and Angus Young in my opinion are the greatest guitarists of all time and by far the most underrated, these guys are by far more entertaining on stage than anyone else and have influenced so many of the guitarists from the late 80's into the 90's.
Ace specifically said that he only got a les paul because Jimmy Page had one.
Without a doubt Ace is my favorite guitarist. Style /technique and stage presence go along way.
johnny Sic Exactly, tge thing that makes Ace great is that NO one plays like him (famous except for Thayer), when you hear that sound, you know it's him.
Although Ace couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.
***** You're trolling right? Lol.
***** I don't see Les Paul, I see A Gibson Les Paul custom.
Dude he's just the coolest m fer on earth. Goddamn I still want to grow up and be that coool.
How can someone not like this video?
That is some real rock&roll!!!
I don't like it.
@@thekinarbo I'm with you. Thank gawd for Akira Takasaki and Eddie Van Halen, not necessarily in that order.
Still have never heard some of the cool sounds to this day, that he played in this solo. That echo and delay are so cool.
Awesomeness, I would have loved to get to see this as a kid
You can not even picture a Les Paul and not think of Ace Frehley! He was THE brand, THE sound of real KISS, and the heart and soul of their 5 decades of tours. If you went to the farewell tour, it was the sounds of Ace's guitar phrases that made the magick work
Ace was and is the sound of Kiss period Legend .....grew up in the 70's .....listening to ACE ..
So much more interesting to me than listening to the endless shredders out there.
One of my first guitar heroes.
You gotta love him!
This is where the old times ended.
The REAL Ace Frehley. Not the imposter.
there is no imposter , ACE chose another path..💙
Tommy Thayer is an excellent guitarist, and I won't deny that.
But one thing's for sure:He ain't no Ace Frehley! At best-Tommy Thayer is an Ace Frehley wannabe.
What it's an outrage, I want my money back.
I want the fake one, I demands it ese vatos locos forever putos locos tacos head gasket chumps cheese dip caca cabron mamados hot
Ace was a neo-traditionalist. He took the basics and made them thrilling again.
Ace is the friendly hardware place!
lmao good one👍👍
I really wish Kiss would have made a concert film back in the 1970s. Something akin to Led Zeppelin's The Song Remains the Same with backstage footage and fantasy sequences to accompany the music.
Ace #1 hands down. Keeps it bluesy none of that prog rock fluff.
Without Ace - Kiss would have never of made it - period. Ace will always be the legend behind Kiss.
In my opinions .... among the 10 best in rock .... great guitarist 👌
LOVE YOU Ace Frehley Guitar Solo Showww!!!!!!😍😍😍😍
I'm still an Ace fan. Every Halloween. I love his solos.
Classic ACE🤘🤘
Okay Dime, I see what you mean now.
Paul was not Eddie Van Halen, but then Eddie was no Paul Stanley, struttin' around the stage and singing those high notes in Heaven's on Fire. I'll always have a soft spot for KISS, having grown up with their music as a little kid, along with Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc. Great time to be a kid. I still love the boogie Rock n Roll, with the hard punch, and great choruses (Shout it out Loud, Rock & Roll All Night, Love Gun). I'm more of a Jazz guitarist, but I love Ace Frehley.
ace is just one of the greatest guitarists EVER Thanks for upload ! ....
Ace Frehley did to Three Blind Mice what Jimi Hendrix did to the National Anthem at Woodstock.
he is one of the best guitarist of the history!
Really? Better than Eddie Van Halen? Better than Randy Rhoads? Better than Yngwie Malmsteen?
OF THE 😂 (HISTORY)😂
Let me put it this way, Ace Frehley and his skills are perfect for Kiss.
There may be better guitarists in rock history. There is no netter showman. Ace Frehley is Rock n Roll to the core.
One Of My Favorite Guitar Payers Of All Time!!!
I saw Ace at Ritten House Square in Winston Salem a long time ago...I was playing pool and watching having a good time. I was lit. Ace started his solo and by the end I was getting dizzy. It took me to outerspace for sure when he started the part where the guitar lights up. Ended up making me sick and threw up outside. The bouncer wouldn't let me back in lol. UA-cam doesn't give you the true experience. This dude rocks big time in person.
One of Ace Frehley`s Best Solo`s ever !!! Just Perfect his Gibson playing
back then - brilliant Les Paul Tone !!! I am very proud to be a Fan since my
Childhood in the 70`s ! Ace Frehley is still too much underrated for what he plays
in the 70`s ! His Gibson Les Paul playing is one of a Kind and one of the Best ever !!!
His Solo`s were Magic back then ! Great Feeling !!!
Masterclass 🎸💪🏼🇺🇲
Thank you a million times over for posting this! "Space Ace" is an inspiration to us all.
Lo stile di ACE!
This is one of Ace's very best solo spots! Brilliant and so fluid in every way!
Ace Frehley the heart and soul of KISS!!!!!!
This is the real kiss band. I saw them in 1976 and 1978. Ace and Peter made kiss. Ace and Peter was living the dream of being a rock star. Rock -n- roll, sex and drugs. Thank you ace and Peter for your talent in kiss.
