MEGAfm mkII uses YM3438 chip. This is a successor chip to the YM2612 used in mkI and seems to have improved sound quality. The mkII supports chip replacement using a simple method, and it seems possible to use YM2612, custom chips, or a mix of chips. The mkI doesn't support chip replacement, so the mkII seems to have a wider range of sounds!
Thank you for watching the video! This is the operation when you select the wide 4 mode out of the two voice modes (wide 3 and wide 4) added in ver3.0. To switch modes, just press the voice button multiple times like the others, but if you cannot select this mode, please check the version. The video is from MEGAfm mk1.
@@SoundOptimize Thank you for your answer! Could you please tell me how to see what firmware is on my MEGA FM? And if I downloaded the "Sysex" file for firmware, what program can I use to install it?
@@taniayashuk5349 Regarding the contents included in the MEGAfm firmware, the contents of previous updates are described in the text included in the firmware file. The current version will be shown on the display at startup. The firmware can be downloaded from the TE firmware download link in the video summary section. Regarding the Sysex transfer program, I am using a free program called MIDI-OX since I am in a Windows environment. I don't have any information about programs for the Mac OS environment, so I don't know. Alternatively, if you need help with firmware updates, you can contact TE Suppot.
@@SoundOptimize Thank you very much for recommending the program. I managed to install firmware 3.0. Now Wide4/Wide3 mode is working.😊 P.S.: For some reason, on the firmware 3.6 Wide4/Wide3 did not turn on.
@@taniayashuk5349 I'm glad you were able to update successfully. I also experienced that the FW update could not be performed normally. There were two problems at that time. One is compatibility with Sysex transfer software. I was using the Elektron C6 program, but the update did not complete properly, so I switched to MIDI-OX. The other problem was that when I tried to update to the latest version all at once, it sometimes did not work properly. There are previous versions in the FM file, so I solved the problem by installing them in order.
i have just ordered a megafm. but the mark 2 version. i hope it sounds as good as this one...

Hello! How did you make all 4 voicing buttons light up at the same time (poly12, wide6, dual ch3, unison)?
