Megafm is so good. I love designing with it because i stumble into so many crazy sounds, but they all have this unique texture that puts a smile on my face.
I haven't tried this yet but it could be useful in situations like in this video where you have to turn off/on or accidentally switch to a preset. This should read the physical position of all the faders - "To replace the current preset with preset 0, simply press the reset button at any time. Once pressed, the numeric display will indicate "P0" to confirm that preset zero has been loaded. Furthermore, if you press the reset button a second time, MEGAfm will read all the faders and knobs on the control panel and match them with the settings on the device. The numeric display will then indicate "PA" to signify that the panel settings have been restored."
This thing is wicked I was just digging around for some sort of digital poly synth on the web and have no idea how this flew under the radar a few years ago
Its a hard beast to control - coming from the OP-Six - but its way more fun - and the Organ Pad´s i made on this machine is about the most beautiful i ever heard ,- Great little BIG synth !
I started to really get into FM synthesis when I mapped Ableton's Operator knobs to sliders on my korg nanokotrol. FM synths needs more control and this is why I want to get Mega FM at some point.
Question: how did you get the note pattern to keep looping whilst adjusting the synth parameters? I take it you're playing through midi, just wondering if there's another device acting as a looper. Cheers!
Strange question but where did you pick up the two finger ring? My fingers are spreading to strange angle due to Psoriatic Arthritis. The ring could help me.
I was always intrigued by this (I grew up with the Sega Megadrive) - but the thing that put me off was that there was apparently a huge noise floor. Is that still the case? Are you using a noise gate on this recording?
but to also leave a bit more useful comment: Try to keep the volume knob around 10-11 o'clock. It's still loud enough but the artifacts are a bit less pronounced
The simple things, like feeling the sound in a hip, are almost always the best things. Especially when playing live. I agree 100% mate. As fm from Elektron. My friend and i were trying Digotone and Cycles head to head and as much as i would love to say good things abot Digitone, no doubt there are, Cycles won that ....Really crazy! I dont know what they have done to it, but it sounds huge and it is fast for , say again, live play i did not expect that at all, how great that went. On the other hand, for production in studio, i bet Digitone is much better.
I couldn’t get into it with shift menu functions u never know where u are at or it would just screw everything up and u don’t know how the hell u get where u ended up

Thanks! Now I have to mop up the spilled drinks and apologize to all the neighbors.😍
HA ! 😆
Jesus why are you so fucking good at this stuff? Every piece of gear you demo manages to sound EXACTLY like you. Amazing.
What a superb overview. You even got me to dig out my old Skinny Puppy vinyl.

Awesome, 3:20 🤘🏼. IF I had one, I show case it as well 😂. Is much as I like it, it seems a bit on the high end frequency (FM synths in general).
Megadrive/Genesis = God-like sounds

4:50 it's got a classic industrial sound, some of this!
I listened in amazement all the way through. Thank you Joey.
Insane drumbeats ... 😲you are a madman
Amazing demo as usual! I want one!
This sequence could be a final song

Theres also the Humble Audio Quad Operator eurorack module
Awesome jam that made made rediscover my MegaFM and blow the dust off it!
Awesome video! Is this the mk1 or mk2? I have the mk1 and it’s amazing and noisy. I’m curious about the mk2…
Apparently cleaner as it doesn't use the genesis chip
GREAT VIDEO ..... THANK YOU !!!!!

Don't use the term "noise". It's breathing and full of digital life. ;)

I liked your talk about interface 👍
Spotted the Evolver Keys back there. Would love to see you do a video of it 🙌🙌
11:03 holy fuck
This sequence should have become a full track.
Had a MegaFM, absolutely amazing synth. Eurocrack addiction forced me to sell it though.
