The best production value for somebody with under 100 subs. You keep one upping yourself man what a great vid. Amazing cinematography and editing with a great message. Keep going brother Edit: Bros over 600 subs now what an absolute champion
How tf has this high quality Video only 10 views. Im so happy that this video randomly popped up on my feed because it really made me think of a different way to live my live.
good take. honestly as nice as all these quotes are, you can always interpret them in different ways that might even contradict one another. i still like the general principle of enjoying the journey vs the destination regardless lol
as someone who likes walking but sometimes doubt with what's even the point of doing it, this quote comforts me in a way, so I'll remember this quote. I'll keep walking not because I'm going somewhere or I have to do it for fitness, but because I like doing it, that's the only reason that matters to me.
i shit on the idea of mediocrity all the time because i think people settle for worse lives than they deserve, but it’s also all about perspective. a mediocre life in canada where i live for example is a pretty good one when you compare it to what the average person is going through in some other places. everything is relative.
haha that’s a good point, i just wonder if there’s ever been a time when people *didn’t* think their society was crazy. honestly though, being different for the sake of being different is no better than conforming for the sake of conforming. the type of ‘outcasts’ i admire are those who critically think about everything/everyone they allow into their lives. the whole point is not to let societal pressure stop you from being your authentic self. easier said than done though lol
@@liamzgb mate you couldn't be more correct, and the weirdest part is actually tryna break that self imposed bubble we have about what we can do outside even though there's some blokes who act different just for the sake of it- We've got an authentic reason so might as well go for it with no regrets!
"The reward for conformity was that everyone liked you except for yourself". Learn to define, to content yourself with some specific thing and some definite work; dare to be what you really are, and to learn to accept with good grace all that you are not.
So true. I think we should acknowledge that everyone liking you is a significant reward which greatly enforces conformity, especially for those of us who have been consistently rejected for failing to be “normal.” Human connection is a need, and isolation is problematic, but obtaining acceptance by pretending to be someone you’re not doesn’t work out so well over time either. The trick is finding people who appreciate your true self
At 58, I've lived this without ever really meaning to. At school I was always the weird misfit kid, but I think I was genuinely misfit enough to understand that trying to fit in wouldn't work for me - I could either waste my time being a poorly done inauthentic copy of what my peers found acceptable, or I could just stop worrying that people laughed at me and enjoy being myself. College was pretty tough - no unkindness or bullying, it was just very lonely - but I eventually found a bunch of friends and something I loved to do and my life has just got better as I've got older. I never did so many things people think essential - never learned to drive, never got married, never had kids - but if I fell under a bus tomorrow I could genuinely say that I've lived the life I wanted, one where I prioritised the quality of existence over long-term goals. So thanks for putting this idea into words. Can't wait to see what my sixties are like.
this is an awesome comment to read, especially hearing it from somebody who’s clearly walked the talk your whole life. it’s so relatable, the realization that you can either be a shittier version of everybody else or the best version of you. i think the sooner that lesson is learned, the happier life is. i also think that true happiness comes from finding genuine peace with things as they are, and it sounds like you’ve achieved that. wishing you all the best!
You are awesome and wish more people would listen to that and actually act like you did earlier in life. I was the missfit that tried to fit in all of my adolescence and 20s. I am 30 now and believe me that shits you up. I wish I would have been myself longer and enjoyed my company more instead of worrying so much about what others think of me, I still do to a lesser extent. I am 32 now and trying to improve on that, so hard tho
This is so comforting to hear. At this point I don’t even know what I want to do and what “society” expects me to do. Heck, I can’t even dress the way I want because of these thoughts
how will you find what you want without doing the things that you like?? (you won’t) “we would care far less about what other people thought about us if we realized how rarely they did.”
What do you mean by "no one can disrespect your boundries"? Can't people always disrespect your boundries? Bullying is still a thing especially for outcasts and you can try to ignore it and pretend it doesn't hurt you. But trust me it doesn't work like that. I am just curious what you mean by this comment, and am genuinely interested in your opinion, this is by no means criticism.
To the younger people in the comment section: As you grow older most of these things you’ll automatically figure out. Until then, don’t stress out (at least try not too)
absolutely, i’ve heard that time is the best teacher & it checks out in my life so far. i just hope videos like these can help people learn those lessons with less pain.
it fucking sucks & it creates a real type of lonely, helpless pain that most people can’t relate to. all i can say is that school is pretty much the only time in your life that you’re forced to spend all day every day with the same 20-30 people. after, when you enter the ‘real world’ (i hate that expression but school really is a bubble), you’ll be much stronger for it. keep being you, & remember that people who put others down are the very last people worth listening to. stay true to yourself and the right people will come - you already found 1 :)
Honestly feels like a really cute twenty something figuring his life out. Almost feels like he is hopelessly confused somewhere deep inside and just hiding it behind an apparently profound journal entry. Keep going, you'll find your way out.
Being outside of social circles can sometimes mean avoiding the conflicts and drama that come with group dynamics. You might find peace in solitude or in smaller, more meaningful interactions.
this is an underrated part of it that i forgot to mention. it all comes back to making sure everything & everybody in your life deserves their place in it.
This>>> when I explain this to my friend, she says I’m weird and that drama is amazing, but the only thing I want is peace and idc about others problems
Bro this is unironically one of the most motivational videos ive ever watched, i've been stuck in that dreadful cycle of watching motivational videos without doing anything but this has genuienly changed the way ive acted for the last week and i keep coming back to watch it
man this is so awesome to hear. i still get caught in that trap sometimes, but all you can do is catch yourself & snap out of it a little quicker each time. i’m still workin on it lol
But sometimes the loneliness is too much. It hurts like broken bones, trying to understand why everybody leaves, or why you're the last pick for anything. Hurts too much.
no doubt. we’re social creatures & loneliness is one of the hardest things to cope with. but you have at least 1 more person to talk to now :) keep your head up & don’t ever be scared of talking to new people. start with giving simple compliments (ex. ‘i like that shirt’) & you’ll be surprised by how many people light up. it makes my day every time i can make someone else smile.
You need to find people who appreciate your true self. Much easier said than done, I know. I only had one real friend until I went to college, and I would even pretend to her a lot of the time as well. I had learned that if I didn’t pretend to be someone I’m not, someone who was more “normal” and palatable to most people, I would face severe rejection. But gaining connection with people by putting on an act isn’t really gaining connection. Your real self will still be just as lonely, so you might as well be authentic since it might help you find people who will truly accept you and appreciate you. Once I left home, I realized that the problem wasn’t that I was unpalatable, but that the people around me had narrow palates. I hope you have a similar finding Side note: a big part of this journey was realizing that I’m probably autistic, and finding people who are also likely autistic, or who at least understand that different is not a synonym for bad and who will work to meet me in the middle in terms of communication differences and don’t get upset with me for mostly talking about my few passionate interests
“gaining connection with people by putting on an act isn’t really gaining connection.” 1000000% agree. if you don’t already have a platform you post your thoughts on, please find one and do it! your comments are thoughtful and will help people like your younger self.
@@liamzgb u need to put an act, you are not going to talk about the gym with someone that doesnt go to the gym, u wont talk about politics with someone who doesnt like politics, being sociable is about having a mask that conceals yourself at all times, if u cant fit is because u are not triying hard enough and u are lazy, if u want to talk with normal people, u need to talk with them about normal shit, if u think its not valuable to have a relationship with them just dont speak to them
Mimi summary Dont rely on others to motivate you because it could easily turn out wrong Just because everyone is doing it a certain way, doesn’t mean thats the only way Dont just enjoy the out come, enjoy the process Making hard choices for an easier life Dont expect to be exceptional with a normal mindset
Being an outcast can be liberating. As Kierkegaard noted, 'Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.' Embrace your unique perspective; it often grants clarity and freedom from societal constraints. Your path is your own to shape.
i think one difference between people who love & hate it is the motivation behind it. being different for the sake of being different is backwards & only makes you more dependent on the norms (so you can always do the opposite). being true to yourself & not caring whether it makes you fit in or be an outcast is where the real freedom is.
“you are under no obligation to be the same person you were just a moment ago.” - alan watts you didn’t lose any of your individuality, you probably just stopped doing the things that made you feel like you ‘had it.’ that’s a good problem to have, because the solution is easy - just start doing it again, one little step at a time :)
I sometimes think that nowadays people don't do stuff purely for fun, out of interest or for themselves. Everything has to be documented and shown around, every little thing. It's easy to forget that to achieving something great is a process and that process can even take years. That's why intrinsic motivation is so important, if you rely on anything outside of you to continue for years to come you are set up for failure. But if you yourself are the motivation then you can accomplish great things. Remember, nothing worth having in life comes easy. Motivation isn't everything, you also need discipline.
absolutely true. i’ve definitely been working to find the right balance between documenting and creating - this video is the first one on my channel that felt right. you just reminded me of a quote i heard: “you won’t rise to the level of your motivation. you’ll fall to the level of your discipline.” thanks for the comment :)
One of the fun things about UA-cam is that some days, it feeds me a new and interesting UA-camr like you with fresh ways of expressing your own brilliant thoughts about life. I appreciate it.
I like to think that I mainly live my life in intrinsic motivation, but the things that frustrate me most are when I’m forced into extrinsic motivation. This video was really helpful for helping put all this kind of stuff into words.
"EASY CHOICE, HARD LIFE" I recently made a pretty major decision within my life that curated a thought similar to this. I could choose what's easy and bear the consequence of doing so.. but in the end, that wouldn't be worth it for me in the slightest. I'll choose to take a challenge, if it means I'll thank myself later on for it.
i think that’s one of the beautiful paradoxes of life - ‘easier’ choices often end up creating harder problems in the future, which means that the ‘harder’ choices are technically the easy ones. i’m glad you’ve figured it out too, makes me feel a bit less crazy for thinking it lol. thanks for the comment :)
Makes life more fun anyways like i dont really care what people say behind my back because im doing me and if they dont like it they can stay away i think more people need to adopt a mindset of not caring what others think
@@AZTR0N0MICAL04 you're so real for this, I've recognized recently that I am living a life.. and no one else can do that for me. Ergo, I ultimately decide what feels right for me (WITHIN REASON.)
thank you for letting me know man, i was trying really hard to make sure the words flowed in the video the way i wrote them. the kind words mean a lot :)
O formato de vídeo, a resolução, a filmagem, as piadas, tudo isso junto faz esse vídeo ser algo tão único que eu nem percebo o tempo passando enquanto eu assisto, isso que é conteúdo.
I’m glad i came across this video today, i’m glad to see there’s other people who think this way. I hope that everyone can one day realise instead of trying to be someone they aren’t.
when i was a kid, a family friend told me that the only thing i should ever want to be when i grow up is myself. now that i’m (kinda) grown up, i see how right he was. i’m glad you were able to come to that conclusion as well. thanks for the comment :)
quotes that i'll definitely take to heart. As someone who as ASD my attempt to be "normal" by masking is exhausting and hearing it be said in such a well written and sincere way that its better to not fit in lifted some weight from me
Nice. "The person who enjoys walking will always walk further, than the person who enjoys the destination". I love that quote. I've been playing volleyball for 2 years, and about half a year ago I had the chance to play for a club. A few weeks ago I had my first match (I, of course, started on the bench). When I got subbed in, my heart started racing, and I was so nervous because I didn't want to mess up and disappoint my coach. I messed up the first two serve recieves... Then it hit me. I was nervous because I wanted to show everyone, that I was good. In that team, I played volleyball for the shortest time (2 years), and almost everyone else had at least twice as much experience as me (some even up to 6 years). I started thinking. I'm one of the youngest team members, and I have nothing to lose. It just clicked in a second, and after that, I wasn't focused on not messing up. I focused on what I love. Volleyball. From the moment, that I started to enjoy playing on the field I was much better. This crucial thing in sports is something that you can't teach a player they have to experience it themself. I love how you discussed this in the best possible way!
there’s that corny ass quote that “if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” i think your story is a good example of that. it’s ‘work’ in the sense that it’s hard and takes effort, but if you learn to enjoy the effort, i think you become really hard to beat. that ‘nothing to lose’ mentality has felt like a cheat code for me haha
Beautiful composition what amazing shots you chose. I see this every day in my high school, it is so much easier to be me then pretend I am someone I'm to just to have “cool friends”
agreed, but neither word is always a good thing though! being different for the sake of it is no better than being normal for the sake of it. the important thing is being true to yourself no matter what
you just captured everything that i've been feeling and thinking since forever. it's hard to find people like this around though. at least currently, everyone is just stuck in the system including myself. breaking free is so difficult. i'm just trying to navigate how i want but there's just all these invisible constraints almost dragging me to fit in like everyone else.
i’m glad this resonated with you bro. honestly i think it’s hard to find ‘the others’ because exceptional people are just that - exceptions. there aren’t too many of them haha. the good thing about this video is that i’m seeing so many like-minded people in the comments here. i’m gonna keep working to build a community for us :)
i just love the aspect ratio for this video, it really amplifies the entire experience! the entire thing was framed very well-- the quote about what your friend said in the beginning was something I used to abide by all the time when I was younger, but I've been slipping out of it recently-- I always hated the concept of "house points" in school because it made discipline a competition, everything in school is competitive and as I've grown I started falling into the mass competition that has one winner who doesn't feel like they've won. this video gave me the motivation to get out of the rut :) and being exceptional is always better because you do things for yourself then, you know its definitely *you* who likes something, not society.
thank you man, i’m glad you liked it :) i see the advantages to competition, but i think lots of people overlook the exact problem you pointed out. i’ve been happier since i started focusing on being a better version of myself instead of trying to just be better than everybody else. all the best bro!
The amount of editing that went into this seemingly simple video, plus the fact that it's mostly original scenes and not stock footages, makes this a really beautiful project. Plus the THUMBNAIL IS VERY DOPE!🔥
man i’m so glad you noticed those things. sometimes i feel like i’m wasting time on the little details, but comments like this make it worth the extra effort :)
@@liamzgb I know how it gets, and it can be really frustrating. It's what I call "The ART vs The PROCESS". The good news is in the end it all works out, and the ones who would truly appreciate your craft will eventually catch on.
Man, this video really inspired me, it is just as if something clicked when I saw it. I even watched it multiple times it even motivated me to start my journey on yt
I have been watching this video nearly everyday since I first saw it, that was 2 weeks ago. I really like how motivate people to be different but mainly, “redefined” potential. I was seen as an high potential athlete from of a very young aged and was trained as one. “Reach my potential” was all I knew after a while and I tried to live up to those expectations, which inevitably caught up with me. I had to stop for mental reasons and sulked for a very long time about not reaching my “potential”. This video truly changed my perspective and helps me a lot to get over it all and reminds me that this life is our own, not others. It should be lived the way we want to. It’s your process and your choices to make, do not let others take it away from you.
well said bro. i’m sorry you had to deal with that bs. i feel like with sports it’s way too common & all it does is give young athletes that fucked up complex of guilt & not feeling like ‘enough,’ whatever that means. i’m glad it seems like you’re getting past it bro. i think a good life is one that’s lived on your own terms. rooting for you to keep doing it :)
Thank you for putting in time for the little things, like the billards table clip and even naming the folder next to the trash can to make the clip even more interesting.
i’m so glad you noticed! little things like that feel so extra when i’m working on them, but i think making a good video is kinda like making a good painting - takes a ton of little tiny brushstrokes to bring it to life. (that’s some bs i just thought of but it sounds artistic so we’ll run with it lol)
Thank you for this video, I cannot tell you how much of it you have gotten right about what I'm experiencing right now as a person figuring themselves out. I appreciate you man
I recently came across a concept having to do with reaching your goals. The punchline is "Don't try to come to the results, let the results come to you" meaning that you can become a person to which your goal is attracted to, kinda relates yo the quote at 4:16
haven’t heard that one before but honestly i never listen to that advice haha i get either too lazy or too restless waiting for things to happen. i’m still trying to find a better balance
Whats stopping me? The fact that i watch this video at 11 PM about to fall asleep and probably dont have the same motivation as right now to get out of my own hell
“we don’t rise to the level of our motivation, we fall to the level of our systems” one of the harsh realities i learned is that motivation usually comes AFTER taking action, not the other way around. i’m still working on it myself. all you can do is just take one little step forward & stop expecting perfection from yourself. a good start is to get out of bed and do something you can be proud of before checking your phone. progress > perfection :) rooting for you bro just keep going
I clicked this video thinking it would be like every other inspirational UA-camr, but in a way it wasn’t , in a weird way there was a twist this video made me realize things I would’ve never before, I am a once in a lifetime person but I’ve spent my whole life trying to be everyone else, not trying to be that 1 in a million but rather the other 999 thousand and I can stop before it’s to late, this video makes me want to pursue my dreams.
The last part really spoke to me, its hard to enjoy life when you are always being told you are enjoying it the "wrong" way, so the last quote "in order to be exceptional, you must be the exception" to me just means to do things your own way even when it comes to the littlest of things if it truly brings you joy, its nice to know that the idea of "not fitting in" is finally getting normalize especially with teenagers who are told that not fitting in is not normal. Great work, i am sure this video helped someone out there more then you can think.
i’m so glad this video spoke to you man. that’s a good way of looking at it - the point isn’t to be different, it’s to be authentic to yourself. thank you so much for watching & for the kind words btw :) i’m honoured & humbled by the impact this video seems to be having
it’s an honour, seriously. i can’t wrap my head around the idea of other people genuinely liking my vids as much as i do haha. thanks for the kind words. more to come :)
This is genuinely an amazing video, something I’ve needed to hear recently. You sound so authentic and your filmmaking skills are amazing. I can most certainly relate to what you’ve said in this video. There are no rules, it all bs, but it’s hard to break free and be who you are today, but this video gives me hope.
i’m really glad you enjoyed it! idk if everyone is reading eachother’s comments or what but the fact that ‘authentic’ is the word you $ a few others chose means so much to me. i respect authenticity in a person more than almost anything, so i try to make everything i do and say as real/honest as i can. keep pushing forward! thanks for the comment :)
So many motivational quotes in this video lol. Everything you said is true though, and I can especially relate to "the person who enjoys walking will walk further than the person who enjoys the destination" you couldn´t have said it much better.
thank you :) i love how videos can capture moments & feelings perfectly - it almost feels like magic to me, & i'm slowly getting better at doing it. i really appreciate the advice & kind words! all the best
this video answers and reassures SO many things that have been on my mind for so long. I've always wondered why everyone conformed and stuck to certain ideals and never bothered to just be who they were. I probably still have a lot more to learn at just 15, but it's really comforting seeing many others here share the same sort of curiosities keep up the work! I really look forward to see what other discussions you may bring up, this video alone is incredibly insightful and I imagine you have a lot more things to say
i’m so glad you could connect with this video man. you’re years ahead of most people if you’re that curious & self aware at 15 - never lose it! btw if you like videos like this, i think you’d like the book, The Almanac of Naval Ravikant. it’s free on his website. i first read it at 19 & i still wish i found it sooner haha. all the best bro
thank you :) i’m still figuring out my aesthetic a bit more with each video, but this one is definitely the closest to what i’ve always imagined it as. sending love to brazil!
thanks bro! authenticity is the goal of everything i do, so i’m glad it showed in this video. funny you mention the shitty video quality, i just record in 1080p because it’s the only footage my 2015 macbook pro can handle haha. i figured it would create a cool vibe regardless, & this comment was nice confirmation of that :)
Best piece of self improvement media. Just be yourself! Being authentic is always #1, and that means to stop worrying about what people want from you, or want you to say. Remember how you could just get into a conversation or just do what you wanted to do when you were a kid? That's because you're just being yourself without worrying about other things. It finally clicked to me last night, and this video popped up just at the right time to prove me... right! Don't be in the rat race, just be yourself.
i’m so glad you could relate to the video :) i think we can learn a lot about authenticity from little kids - they’re too innocent to care much about other people’s judgement haha. thanks for the comment bro, all the best!
what I would add to this (beautiful message btw!), is stop looking at other people so much, stop being so concerned with how other people are living their lives, and focus on what's right in front of you, the things that make up your own day and be present, you will feel like time goes slower when you are actually paying attention to the things that you are doing. I have found that brings me so much more fulfillment and joy!
While the meaningfullness of this video is undeniable, I just can't stress enough how much I adore the editing and montage work?? It was a true pleasure to follow the narrative with these creative visuals! Amazing work :D
i’ve been working really hard behind the scenes to improve my filmmaking skills so this means a lot to hear. thank you so much for the kind words :) more to come!
As someone who believes in “Production is the killer of authenticity” The production is just enough for high quality feel, but also well enough below the threshold that makes it feel faked for views. So even though you even let us see you reading from a script you wrote it feels more genuine like a conversation you popped off and got deep into! You have my sub, I know 2 months later. Please don’t let the fame I believe you’re destined for change you brother!
i appreciate the kind words man. i’m glad you mentioned the balance between production & authenticity, because it’s such a fine balance that i’ve been trying to strike for a while now. thanks for the sub btw :) i’m sure i will change over time, but i won’t let fame be the reason for it haha. all the best bro
6:22 worth 6 years of lesson. Thanks for sharing on your thoughts about the rat race and living a life with purpose. See you in the top sir. May God bless you 🙏😇🫡
Mate, first of all, great video! I at first read a lot of motivational books (later videos too), but after like 5 books, it all looked the same to me. Do that because of that and only then it'll work. Always different approach, different "one true guidline". But then I noticed, that in real world people don't take action. Action is the only part that matters. Almost whatever you'll DO, will work. Just stick to any plan, but take action. Where i'm getting to is, that you metioned it - take action. It's the single and most important part of all plans. You're one of a very few inspirational guys or what that mentioned it. I really appreciate it. And I also like honest approach while creating video - no short impulsive brainwashing attention seeking videos. No ultra-inspirational 5s videos in the background with hyping for whatever. You just shown how the life is. I had to leave the comment here. Great work, keep it up!
this comment made my day, thank you bro. ik exactly what you mean with every self-help book ever. they’re great for shifting your mindset to one that’s more self-aware & motivated, but that’s about it tbh. you said the golden words haha - *just do shit* i’ve made it a really clear goal of mine to be completely honest in every aspect of my life. these videos are included in that. the world can always use some authenticity. really appreciate the kind words man. i’ve got a few more journals full of ideas for videos on the way haha. all the best :)
This is honestly such a motivation to me to start my own UA-cam channel. The editing, sfx and narrations were *chef's kiss. I had to take a double take when I saw you were on 100 subs and not 100k
GREAT video man and very much suited to the little mental shift I'm going through atm since finishing university. That uncertainty of whether I wanna take on this persona that everyone else does of "career driven" so and so or just be me and live my life. Love the quotes. Much appreciated
i’m in my last year of uni too, so i get where you’re coming from. i think the fact that you see being ‘career driven’ as a persona & not an absolute truth about you says it all! no point accepting a label if it’s not helpful. obviously idk your situation, but here are some questions that might be worth asking yourself: what would you do if money wasn’t a factor? 10 years from now, would you rather regret the pain of trying and failing at something you love, or never trying it at all? what’s stopping you from doing what you love right now? do you even know what you love? if the answer is no, how would you find out? i’m a sucker for some good questions lol, hopefully they can help :) all the best
what an incredible video. the last one i watched while binging youtube. thanks for helping me get out of this slump and motivating me to get something done with myself today. i'll remember it tomorrow
wow, that makes me so happy to hear :) i’ve been in a slump recently myself, so we all need to be reminded sometimes haha. all the best! thanks for the kind words
corny advice, but just keep being true to yourself & the right people will come. i found that my life got 1000000x better by just having a higher standard of who i let into it. thanks for the comment :)
I like that the video is 1:1 it gives its own feelibng, and makes this feel more different than the other vids like this. Plus the cuts here are beautiful
thank you, i’m really glad you liked it :) something about the aspect ratio (i use 4:3 usually) just makes me feel good haha. it also gives me a bit of wiggle room for editing shots that weren’t framed perfectly in 16:9. i really appreciate the kind words fr, thanks again! more to come
lol i appreciate your concern for the 2 feet of space i occupied in a random footpath, but if you *really* need some more context: - i filmed there for under 7 minutes mid day on a tuesday - the cyclist in the video was literally the only person that came through (& i moved out of his way before he even entered the tunnel) - there were multiple signs telling cyclists that they’re not allowed to ride their bikes through that tunnel - he didn’t give a shit about the signs or about me so basically, the only person on the planet who was marginally affected by me being there literally smiled & didn’t care as much as you do right now. also, just because the irony of this made me smile: the definition of pretentious = attempting to impress by affecting greater importance than is actually possessed. pretty cringe buddy ngl. pick your battles lol
someone in an earlier comment said it really well - paraphrased, ‘you can either be a shitty imitation of everybody else, or you can be the best, realest version of you.’ i’d take the second option any day. thanks for the comment :)
'There are no rules. We just impose these guidelines upon ourselves because its how we all convince eachother that we should stay in the rat race with everybody else.' Thats a very original thing to say. Very inspiring
This video made me realize a lot, really you don't need to be or do the same as everyone else rather do what you love, no one going to care anyways. Thank you for making this video :)
hey bro i really loved the video and the message it delivered....i FELT it it. sometimes its just hard being an outcast but once you get the perspective you just start realizing you are in such a better place. also you just start getting real friends, partner overall real true genuine ppl when you dont fit in uk . but just in my opinion can you slow down the pace a little bit it was a lil hard to keep up....keep up the work bro
i’m glad you liked it bro, you’re so right abou that. i sound like a broken record in these comments rn, but i firmly believe if you do things that are true to yourself, the right people will come. thanks for the feedback too btw. video pacing is something i’m still working on. it’s a fine balance between vids being too fast & too boring on yt, and the algorithm seems to reward vids on the faster side. i just edit off vibes either way haha. lots more to come :)
The best production value for somebody with under 100 subs. You keep one upping yourself man what a great vid. Amazing cinematography and editing with a great message. Keep going brother
Edit: Bros over 600 subs now what an absolute champion
thank you so much bro, means a lot
How tf has this high quality Video only 10 views. Im so happy that this video randomly popped up on my feed because it really made me think of a different way to live my live.
this just made me so happy man thank you!

"the person who enjoys walking will walk further than the person who enjoys the destination" wow... i'll remember that quote.
i love the quote too, gets me fired up every time lol
But even here, the importance is given to walking further than the walk, which beats the purpose of the quote I think.
Journey before destination! ✨
good take. honestly as nice as all these quotes are, you can always interpret them in different ways that might even contradict one another. i still like the general principle of enjoying the journey vs the destination regardless lol
as someone who likes walking but sometimes doubt with what's even the point of doing it, this quote comforts me in a way, so I'll remember this quote. I'll keep walking not because I'm going somewhere or I have to do it for fitness, but because I like doing it, that's the only reason that matters to me.
"It's easier to be exceptional than normal" is a banger quote.
this is a banger comment lol thank you bro!
Can confirm.
thank you :)
Normal is just average. Why would anybody aspire to be average?
i shit on the idea of mediocrity all the time because i think people settle for worse lives than they deserve, but it’s also all about perspective. a mediocre life in canada where i live for example is a pretty good one when you compare it to what the average person is going through in some other places. everything is relative.

Being the outcast used to be the weakness
In modern times with crazed out societies, it’s the strength.
haha that’s a good point, i just wonder if there’s ever been a time when people *didn’t* think their society was crazy.
honestly though, being different for the sake of being different is no better than conforming for the sake of conforming. the type of ‘outcasts’ i admire are those who critically think about everything/everyone they allow into their lives. the whole point is not to let societal pressure stop you from being your authentic self.
easier said than done though lol
True
Perhaps it was society which considered being the outcast the weakness, because it goes against its beliefs? Perception.
now we’re getting philosophical haha i love it
@@liamzgb mate you couldn't be more correct, and the weirdest part is actually tryna break that self imposed bubble we have about what we can do outside even though there's some blokes who act different just for the sake of it- We've got an authentic reason so might as well go for it with no regrets!
"The reward for conformity was that everyone liked you except for yourself".
Learn to define, to content yourself with some specific thing and some definite work; dare to be what you really are, and to learn to accept with good grace all that you are not.
i wrote those ones down, thank you bro. real shit haha
The trick is finding people who appreciate your true self
important point. damn every one of these comments is giving me new ideas for things i wish i mentioned in this vid haha
I am 32 now and trying to improve on that, so hard tho
i’ve met elderly people who had similar regrets. you’re in a good place if you’ve realized it & started correcting it 40 years faster than them lol
This is so comforting to hear. At this point I don’t even know what I want to do and what “society” expects me to do. Heck, I can’t even dress the way I want because of these thoughts
how will you find what you want without doing the things that you like??
(you won’t)
“we would care far less about what other people thought about us if we realized how rarely they did.”

Until then, don’t stress out (at least try not too)
absolutely, i’ve heard that time is the best teacher & it checks out in my life so far. i just hope videos like these can help people learn those lessons with less pain.
yeah how about the kids who got socially abused their entire school period?
it fucking sucks & it creates a real type of lonely, helpless pain that most people can’t relate to. all i can say is that school is pretty much the only time in your life that you’re forced to spend all day every day with the same 20-30 people. after, when you enter the ‘real world’ (i hate that expression but school really is a bubble), you’ll be much stronger for it.
keep being you, & remember that people who put others down are the very last people worth listening to. stay true to yourself and the right people will come - you already found 1 :)

You might find peace in solitude or in smaller, more meaningful interactions.
this is an underrated part of it that i forgot to mention. it all comes back to making sure everything & everybody in your life deserves their place in it.
larger interactions can he meaningful if you miss with them
This>>> when I explain this to my friend, she says I’m weird and that drama is amazing, but the only thing I want is peace and idc about others problems

@@park_real omgg yeah, I didn’t even think of that
But sometimes the loneliness is too much.
I hope you have a similar finding
Side note: a big part of this journey was realizing that I’m probably autistic, and finding people who are also likely autistic, or who at least understand that different is not a synonym for bad and who will work to meet me in the middle in terms of communication differences and don’t get upset with me for mostly talking about my few passionate interests
“gaining connection with people by putting on an act isn’t really gaining connection.”

Being an outcast can be liberating.
As Kierkegaard noted, 'Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.'
Embrace your unique perspective; it often grants clarity and freedom from societal constraints. Your path is your own to shape.

"In order to be exceptional, you must be the exception." DAMN
i heard it from alex hormozi first. it hits me every day bro haha
I love being an outcast
i think one difference between people who love & hate it is the motivation behind it. being different for the sake of being different is backwards & only makes you more dependent on the norms (so you can always do the opposite). being true to yourself & not caring whether it makes you fit in or be an outcast is where the real freedom is.

that’s a good problem to have, because the solution is easy - just start doing it again, one little step at a time :)

I like to think that I mainly live my life in intrinsic motivation, but the things that frustrate me most are when I’m forced into extrinsic motivation. This video was really helpful for helping put all this kind of stuff into words.
ik what you mean. honestly journalling & making these videos helps me put it into words for myself as well haha. thanks for the comment :)
"EASY CHOICE, HARD LIFE"
I recently made a pretty major decision within my life that curated a thought similar to this. I could choose what's easy and bear the consequence of doing so.. but in the end, that wouldn't be worth it for me in the slightest. I'll choose to take a challenge, if it means I'll thank myself later on for it.
i think that’s one of the beautiful paradoxes of life - ‘easier’ choices often end up creating harder problems in the future, which means that the ‘harder’ choices are technically the easy ones.
i’m glad you’ve figured it out too, makes me feel a bit less crazy for thinking it lol. thanks for the comment :)

thank you so much! i really enjoy the editing process & i’m glad the little details don’t go unnoticed :)
I see this every day in my high school, it is so much easier to be me then pretend I am someone I'm to just to have “cool friends”

you just captured everything that i've been feeling and thinking since forever. it's hard to find people like this around though. at least currently, everyone is just stuck in the system including myself. breaking free is so difficult. i'm just trying to navigate how i want but there's just all these invisible constraints almost dragging me to fit in like everyone else.
i’m glad this resonated with you bro. honestly i think it’s hard to find ‘the others’ because exceptional people are just that - exceptions. there aren’t too many of them haha.
the good thing about this video is that i’m seeing so many like-minded people in the comments here. i’m gonna keep working to build a community for us :)
I've never been able to fit in the norm but instead of idealizing those who do it just seems like such a pain. Just do what you feel like.
well said
i just love the aspect ratio for this video, it really amplifies the entire experience!
the entire thing was framed very well-- the quote about what your friend said in the beginning was something I used to abide by all the time when I was younger, but I've been slipping out of it recently-- I always hated the concept of "house points" in school because it made discipline a competition, everything in school is competitive and as I've grown I started falling into the mass competition that has one winner who doesn't feel like they've won.
this video gave me the motivation to get out of the rut :)
and being exceptional is always better because you do things for yourself then, you know its definitely *you* who likes something, not society.
thank you man, i’m glad you liked it :) i see the advantages to competition, but i think lots of people overlook the exact problem you pointed out.

“we don’t rise to the level of our motivation, we fall to the level of our systems”
one of the harsh realities i learned is that motivation usually comes AFTER taking action, not the other way around. i’m still working on it myself. all you can do is just take one little step forward & stop expecting perfection from yourself. a good start is to get out of bed and do something you can be proud of before checking your phone.
progress > perfection :) rooting for you bro just keep going
I clicked this video thinking it would be like every other inspirational UA-camr, but in a way it wasn’t , in a weird way there was a twist this video made me realize things I would’ve never before, I am a once in a lifetime person but I’ve spent my whole life trying to be everyone else, not trying to be that 1 in a million but rather the other 999 thousand and I can stop before it’s to late, this video makes me want to pursue my dreams.

The last part really spoke to me, its hard to enjoy life when you are always being told you are enjoying it the "wrong" way, so the last quote "in order to be exceptional, you must be the exception" to me just means to do things your own way even when it comes to the littlest of things if it truly brings you joy, its nice to know that the idea of "not fitting in" is finally getting normalize especially with teenagers who are told that not fitting in is not normal.

keep up the work! I really look forward to see what other discussions you may bring up, this video alone is incredibly insightful and I imagine you have a lot more things to say
i’m so glad you could connect with this video man. you’re years ahead of most people if you’re that curious & self aware at 15 - never lose it!
btw if you like videos like this, i think you’d like the book, The Almanac of Naval Ravikant. it’s free on his website. i first read it at 19 & i still wish i found it sooner haha.
all the best bro
i love the aestehtic of your video. your quotes were truly bangers. cheers from brazil
thank you :) i’m still figuring out my aesthetic a bit more with each video, but this one is definitely the closest to what i’ve always imagined it as. sending love to brazil!
this video hits hard
it feels like smth from a decade ago with the video quality but that makes it feel authentic when its still of such quality
thanks bro! authenticity is the goal of everything i do, so i’m glad it showed in this video.
funny you mention the shitty video quality, i just record in 1080p because it’s the only footage my 2015 macbook pro can handle haha. i figured it would create a cool vibe regardless, & this comment was nice confirmation of that :)
I have found that brings me so much more fulfillment and joy!
very well said! it’s crazy how much that sounds like a journal entry i wrote yesterday haha - great minds think alike i guess ;) all the best!
Thanks for this man I needed it.
that means a lot to hear, i'm glad it helped :) all the best
“What I dumb word, potential” LOL
May God bless you 🙏😇🫡
i’m glad you enjoyed it :) thank you so much for the kind words, all the best bro.
Great work, keep it up!
this comment made my day, thank you bro. ik exactly what you mean with every self-help book ever. they’re great for shifting your mindset to one that’s more self-aware & motivated, but that’s about it tbh. you said the golden words haha - *just do shit*
i’ve made it a really clear goal of mine to be completely honest in every aspect of my life. these videos are included in that. the world can always use some authenticity.
really appreciate the kind words man. i’ve got a few more journals full of ideas for videos on the way haha. all the best :)
This is honestly such a motivation to me to start my own UA-cam channel. The editing, sfx and narrations were *chef's kiss. I had to take a double take when I saw you were on 100 subs and not 100k
got me smiling like an idiot reading this haha thank you bro. start a channel! i'll be the first to subscribe :)
GREAT video man and very much suited to the little mental shift I'm going through atm since finishing university. That uncertainty of whether I wanna take on this persona that everyone else does of "career driven" so and so or just be me and live my life. Love the quotes. Much appreciated
i’m in my last year of uni too, so i get where you’re coming from. i think the fact that you see being ‘career driven’ as a persona & not an absolute truth about you says it all! no point accepting a label if it’s not helpful.
obviously idk your situation, but here are some questions that might be worth asking yourself:
what would you do if money wasn’t a factor?
10 years from now, would you rather regret the pain of trying and failing at something you love, or never trying it at all?
what’s stopping you from doing what you love right now? do you even know what you love? if the answer is no, how would you find out?
i’m a sucker for some good questions lol, hopefully they can help :) all the best
6:01 sick moves
hahaha thank you bro, some might say i’m the greatest dancer alive. i think it’s an understatement
what an incredible video. the last one i watched while binging youtube. thanks for helping me get out of this slump and motivating me to get something done with myself today. i'll remember it tomorrow
wow, that makes me so happy to hear :) i’ve been in a slump recently myself, so we all need to be reminded sometimes haha. all the best! thanks for the kind words
you're gonna blow up bro. good luck🤍
thank you man! it already feels like it haha this is the most attention i think i’ve ever got online
the quality production of this video IS TOP NOTCH!!!!
thank you! more to come :)
' To be exceptional Be the exception '
:)
I like the shot where you scrolled the reels into your brain. Well done.
thank you man, i was trying to keep a straight face haha
@@liamzgb :D
Believe me or not. I'm better alone. I rot when I'm with my friends.
corny advice, but just keep being true to yourself & the right people will come. i found that my life got 1000000x better by just having a higher standard of who i let into it.
thanks for the comment :)
I like that the video is 1:1 it gives its own feelibng, and makes this feel more different than the other vids like this. Plus the cuts here are beautiful
thank you, i’m really glad you liked it :) something about the aspect ratio (i use 4:3 usually) just makes me feel good haha. it also gives me a bit of wiggle room for editing shots that weren’t framed perfectly in 16:9.
i really appreciate the kind words fr, thanks again! more to come
You're the outcast
You're the underclass
But you don't care
Because you're living fast
oasis!
(i just googled it lol idk the song)
I needed that, thanks for the motivation, actually made me cry a little
i’m glad you liked it haha thank you for watching :)
Sitting with a book in that tunnel where people walk and bike was probably the most pretentious and cringeworthy thing I saw this year. Good job.
lol i appreciate your concern for the 2 feet of space i occupied in a random footpath, but if you *really* need some more context:
- i filmed there for under 7 minutes mid day on a tuesday
- the cyclist in the video was literally the only person that came through (& i moved out of his way before he even entered the tunnel)
- there were multiple signs telling cyclists that they’re not allowed to ride their bikes through that tunnel
- he didn’t give a shit about the signs or about me
so basically, the only person on the planet who was marginally affected by me being there literally smiled & didn’t care as much as you do right now.
also, just because the irony of this made me smile:
the definition of pretentious = attempting to impress by affecting greater importance than is actually possessed.
pretty cringe buddy ngl. pick your battles lol
@@liamzgb it's funny how this guy conveys a message that is an exact opppsite of the idea you covered in the video, at the same time confirming it
haha it’s ok man we all take something different from videos like this. hope it was worthwhile for you :)
This is nothing short of a masterpiece. Truly exceptional videography and recording.
you’re gonna make me blush man haha thank you so much, seriously. more to come
Being different sucks, but acting normal is worse
someone in an earlier comment said it really well - paraphrased, ‘you can either be a shitty imitation of everybody else, or you can be the best, realest version of you.’ i’d take the second option any day. thanks for the comment :)
yeah well how about if you're berated for trying to do anything? normal, different, stupid, all leads to being abused
@@Wrench-Monkey24 Go on, tell me more, maybe I could help a little
awesome video, awesome editing, awesome entry !!!
awesome comment! haha thank you so much, it really does mean a lot :)
'There are no rules. We just impose these guidelines upon ourselves because its how we all convince eachother that we should stay in the rat race with everybody else.' Thats a very original thing to say. Very inspiring
i’m glad you liked it man thank you :)
This video made me realize a lot, really you don't need to be or do the same as everyone else rather do what you love, no one going to care anyways. Thank you for making this video :)
i’m so glad it helped :) keep being yourself & the right people will come. all the best!
hey bro i really loved the video and the message it delivered....i FELT it it. sometimes its just hard being an outcast but once you get the perspective you just start realizing you are in such a better place. also you just start getting real friends, partner overall real true genuine ppl when you dont fit in uk . but just in my opinion can you slow down the pace a little bit it was a lil hard to keep up....keep up the work bro
i’m glad you liked it bro, you’re so right abou that. i sound like a broken record in these comments rn, but i firmly believe if you do things that are true to yourself, the right people will come.
thanks for the feedback too btw. video pacing is something i’m still working on. it’s a fine balance between vids being too fast & too boring on yt, and the algorithm seems to reward vids on the faster side. i just edit off vibes either way haha. lots more to come :)
my favorite part, cus it genuinely does symbolize your point too, is the swiggity-swooty boogy-down in the kitchen
hahaha thank you! yeah some say in the best dancer in the world but i think it’s an understatement
@@liamzgb yeah, i think universe would be a better start at least
LOL hell yeah
