Great tips again mate.... a decorator I know has a fine needle syringe for similar repairs to bubbles that appear more in the centre of the paper rather than the edges.... filled full of paste or border adhesive you can inject directly into the bubble and smooth out. Downside is he gets a few funny looks with a syringe in his tool box. 👍

Perfect video! I every bit of lining paper in my house is like this :( All of it has been painted over at least twice as well.

@@PaintingandDecorating I hope so too! For myself I can't easily tell or see that either piece of lining paper has lifted off, but there's a straight light where the seam is which stands about 1 mm proud of the wall. Perhaps that's something swelling out from the joint or the two butting together after expanding? The good news is I got about 500 of them in total to try different methods on :D

If you polyfill over and paint will this come through? I’ve lined the wall myself and in parts has lifted edges. Even with adhesive repair it’s not flush. Any tips? Due to be painted professionally next week

Difficult to say without seeing it, your joint may overlap. Sure your decorator can sort it. Thanks

What is the benefit of using paint instead of glue other than cost?

Handiness and speed. 👍🏻 if that fails then follow the other steps.

Sometimes you're painting and the quickest way to sort out a lifting edge is with your paint. thanks

Yes for most cases it is... but if you're rolling a wall and suddenly an edge comes up then we use the paint which is fast and works well.. thanks

The worst thing is when bristles come out of the brush and get stuck behind the paper. 😡

I had a leak from a tap water sat behind a very large area. The paper was put on a sized plaster board then once the paper was sealed I painted it with water proof kitchen paint. The paper is now warped In a bubble shape. I can get behind the paper to re seal it. The area is around 150 cm wide. Now I cannot soak the paper due to the paint on the frount. Can you advise what to use to re stick it back to the plaster board so thumper and lower paper meet together again. I was thinking pva but don't know if this will hold it while it drys. Would appreciate your help on this thanks.

We do but sometimes you just get that odd one now and then.. usually happens when your painting and the roller can work an edge up... so you use the paint to stick it down..

Sometimes you haven't lined the walls and come across it whilst decorating. E.g. when moving into a new property or doing a job

Are you recording off a phone? If so then look to get an external mic.

Sometimes and we know we have to sort the sound out.... but things will be covered in other videos.

I suspect he's using his phone to record. External microphones work with phones though so maybe he might get one in the future.
