    Good video. Had this problem with a mural.....did what you did and then I used painter's tape to hold down seam and
    left it for 1 week. Peeled off the paint and seam is perfect.

    First, i would use a high quality 3M sponge to wipe off the excess adhesive that squeezes out. Not soaking wet but more than completely squeezed out, and repeat a few of times.
    Everything the creator said is true but there many many types of wallcovering and specialty wallcovering can be very difficult to work with and any moisture on the wallpaper surface can stain those materials, especially the adhesive.
    I would also mention the seam roller can be very helpful too.
    Oh, I use a large gauge medical syringe to insert glue under delicate wallpapers.

    I have some large straps peeling which I want to repaste. Any ideas on what to use to clean the wall 1st to get off the dry glue?

    • @aboutmurals
      @aboutmurals  5 місяців тому

      Hey Elizabeth! I usually just use warm water with a bit of vinegar and a sponge (with some elbow grease). Remember to let the walls dry a little before you re-paste the wallpaper - if it's vinyl wallpaper, you don't want to trap moisture between the wall and the paper. It could cause mold. Let me know how it goes!

      Please don’t do this! As a wallpaper installer who has removed lots of wallpaper, you will appreciate this advice when you have to strip the paper. If you use adhesive caulk or we call it liquid nails, you will need to replace the entire wall before you will get it off

    I’m having a nightmare this is happening to me but even worse is that the sides have shrunk so I’ve got a tiny gap in between 😢 I was wondering about putting a layer of watered down pva over it ? 🤷‍♀️ it’s peel and stick

    • @aboutmurals
      @aboutmurals  3 місяці тому

      Oh no! I’m sorry to hear this is happening! I’m wondering if the peel and stick stretched during installation, and is now shrinking back down exposing a gap where you can see the wall.
      If you can get the wallpaper to at least stick to the wall, you can paint the gap in a matching colour to the wallpaper so the wall blends in with the wallpaper.
      Here’s a video I made a looooong time ago. It talks about hiding the white edge of the wallpaper seam, but it’s the same procedure to also hide the wall. ua-cam.com/video/zI2qBooTlbI/v-deo.htmlsi=ozpoXJ9cH-KrfCFb
      Let me know if that helps!

    Hello, Adrienne. I have a question: I have old wall paper I want to get rid of. So is it better to repair the old wall paper seams like you showed, and then put the new wall paper on top, or to just rip off all old paper and put the new ones on the uncovered wall? thanks.

    • @aboutmurals
      @aboutmurals  5 місяців тому +1

      Hey! Anytime it’s possible, I always recommend removing old wallpaper first (make sure to wash off old paste and re-paint if required,too). Wallpapering over existing wallpaper can create nightmares down the line.
